Definitions

  • the invention relates to a vehicle lamp with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • a brilliant, transparent, clear cover plate is now provided, which closes off the light from the outside and has no light distribution optics in the form of molded lenses or the like.
  • a corresponding free-form surface reflector is arranged in the reflector housing of the vehicle lamp. This free-form surface reflector is provided with a reflection layer, which emphasizes or enhances the brilliant transparent appearance of the lamp even better.
  • the reflective surface of the free-form surface reflector is preferably mirrored, which is achieved particularly favorably by vapor deposition with a fine, high-gloss metal layer.
  • the vehicle lamp has a lamp chamber which is formed between the free-form surface reflector and the cover plate.
  • a light source preferably in the form of an incandescent lamp, must be arranged in this lamp chamber. It is common practice for the incandescent lamp to be held on a lamp holder which is detachably fastened to the rear of the vehicle lamp.
  • the light bulb itself protrudes through an opening in the free-form surface reflector, so that at least the glass bulb of the light bulb is arranged in the light chamber mentioned.
  • a disadvantage of this arrangement with regard to the new luminaire design is that the opening in the free-form surface reflector, which is relatively large due to the dimensions of the glass bulb of the incandescent lamp, is visible as a large dark image through the cover plate.
  • Such a perceivable large opening has a disadvantageous effect on the style of the vehicle lamp, in particular if several signal functions are combined in one vehicle lamp and thus several lamp chambers are present.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to reduce the externally visible opening in the free-form surface reflector to the absolutely necessary minimum.
  • the object is achieved by a vehicle lamp with the features of claim 1.
  • the opening in the free-form surface reflector now does not stand out at all or does so much less than the reflection surface of the free-form surface reflector. When looking at the vehicle lamp, only the light bulb or its base and at most a narrow gap that directly surrounds the light bulb are visible. However, this is currently considered inevitable.
  • Another advantage of the invention consists in that light emitted by the incandescent lamp is now also reflected by the reflecting surface of the additional reflector.
  • the invention can be further advantageously configured according to claims 2 to 11. It is advantageous if the shape of the reflection surface of the additional reflector corresponds to the shape that the reflection surface of the free-form surface reflector would have in the region of the opening. This measure ensures that any deviations in shape cannot be seen in the form of shadows or dark spots compared to the rest of the reflecting surface. It also promotes even light distribution.
  • a configuration according to claim 3 is recommended as particularly advantageous, according to which the reflection surface of the additional reflector is coated in a reflective manner in the same way as the reflection surface of the free-form surface reflector.
  • This configuration makes a particular contribution to achieving the most homogeneous possible sight of the vehicle lamp or the lamp chamber.
  • the vehicle lamp mounted on the body 1 of the motor vehicle shown in FIG. 1 has a reflector housing 2 made of plastic, in which the free-form surface reflector 3, which is responsible for the required light distribution, is arranged and locked.
  • the reflector housing 2 On the light exit side, the reflector housing 2 is closed off by a cover plate 4, which is welded to the reflector housing 2 via corresponding welding ribs 5.
  • a luminaire chamber 6 is formed between the free-form surface reflector 3 and the cover plate 4.
  • the surface of the free-form surface reflector 3 facing the cover plate 4 is designed as a reflection surface 7 and is accordingly coated with a reflective coating.
  • the reflection surface 7 of the free-form surface reflector 3 is mirrored, which can be achieved particularly cheaply by vapor deposition of a corresponding metal layer.
  • the free-form surface reflector 3 has a round opening 8, the narrow inner surface 9 of which is also mirrored. With this mirroring it is achieved that this in the case of an oblique viewing direction, the narrow inner surface 9 does not stand out as a dark edge from the reflection surface 7 of the free-form surface reflector.
  • the opening 8 is dimensioned so large that the glass bulb 10 of the light bulb 11 can be passed through this opening 8 with sufficient play in the direction of the central axis 12 of the light bulb 11.
  • the bulb 11 is held with its base 13 in a socket 14 which is part of the lamp holder 15.
  • the lamp holder 15 is in turn inserted from the back of the lamp into a corresponding receptacle 16 of the reflector housing 2 and locked in this.
  • an additional reflector 17 is provided which essentially bridges the gap between the inner surface 9 of the opening 8 and the base 13 of the incandescent lamp 11.
  • the additional reflector 17 has a reflection surface 18, which is mirrored in the same way as the reflection surface 7 of the free-form surface reflector 3.
  • the reflection surface 18 has a shape which corresponds essentially to the shape which the reflection surface 7 of the free-form surface reflector 3 would have in the region of the opening 8.
  • the additional reflector 17 overlaps the edge of the opening 8 and lies on its outer edge with its reflection surface 18 all around the rear 19 of the free-form surface reflector 3.
  • the additional reflector 17 also has a round opening, which is slightly larger than the diameter of the lamp base 13, which passes through this opening in the additional reflector 17. There is only a narrow annular gap between the additional reflector 17 and the lamp base 13.
  • the additional reflector 17 has a circumferential rib 20 with which it is attached to the socket 14 in the direction of the axis 12.
  • the additional reflector 17 is thus placed on the socket 14 on the lamp holder 15 and then the light bulb 11 is inserted into the socket 14, the base 13 of the light bulb 11 being inserted into the opening of the additional reflector 17.
  • the completed lamp holder 15 is brought into the receptacle 16 of the reflector housing and locked in its predetermined position.
  • the additional reflector 17 can be connected to the lamp holder 15 or the holder 14 in various ways. It is conceivable that the circumferential rib 20 is divided into several segments by several incisions, so that when a slightly smaller inner diameter of the circumferential rib 20 is selected, a clamp connection can be produced compared to the socket 14. It is also conceivable that the circumferential rib 20 or segments of this rib 20 and / or the socket 14 are equipped with latching means which allow a latching connection between the additional reflector 17 and the lamp holder 15.
  • the additional reflector 17 bears securely against the rear side 19 of the free-form surface reflector 3.
  • one or more spring elements could be integrally molded in one piece on the additional reflector 17 or on the end face 21 of the circumferential rib 20. But it would also be possible to form corresponding spring elements on the lamp holder 5.
  • FIGS. 2a and 2b Another embodiment of a vehicle lamp according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 2a and 2b, the basic features of which correspond to the embodiment shown in FIG. Therefore, the same reference numerals are used in FIGS. 2a and 2b for the same parts or features, and a repeated description of the same features is largely dispensed with.
  • the description of FIGS. 2a and 2b will therefore essentially be limited to the different features compared to the embodiment of FIG. 1.
  • FIGS. 2a and 2b An essential difference in the vehicle lamp shown in FIGS. 2a and 2b is that in the overlap area of the additional reflector 17 and the free-form surface reflector 3 the reflection surface 18 of the additional reflector 17 does not abut the back of the free-form surface reflector 3. Rather, it can be seen that there is a narrow gap 25 between the reflection surface 18 of the additional reflector 17 and the rear side 19 of the free-form surface reflector 3. This has the particular advantage that the reflection layer 18 of the additional reflector 17 cannot be scratched by possible contact with the free-form surface reflector 3. On the other hand, the gap 25 is so narrow that it should hardly be visible from outside the vehicle lamp.
  • the lamp holder 15 has a sheet metal plate 26 which is fastened to the lamp holder 15.
  • This sheet metal plate 26 is made in one piece with a conductor track punched out of sheet metal and is used to supply power to the incandescent lamp 10.
  • the sheet metal plate 26 surrounds the socket 14 for the incandescent lamp 10. From FIG is bent upwards.
  • the sheet metal flag 27 runs approximately parallel to the central axis 12 of the incandescent lamp 10.
  • the additional reflector 17 is attached to the socket 14 with the ribs 20 or segments of a circumferential rib 20.
  • this rib 20 is somewhat thickened and has a slot-like receptacle which is open towards the end face of the rib 20.
  • the sheet metal flag 27 is now inserted into the slot-shaped receptacle from this end face. Since this sheet metal flag 27 is formed at its free end with laterally protruding barbs 28 (FIG. 3a), and the width of the slot-shaped receptacle of the additional reflector 17 is somewhat less than the greatest lateral distance between these barbs 28, the sheet metal flag 27 is within the slot-shaped receptacle clawed to the material of the additional reflector 17. This claw is used to fasten the additional reflector 17 to the lamp holder 15. It should also be noted that preferably two such metal tabs 27 are provided diametrically opposite with respect to the central axis 12.
  • FIG. 2b Another exemplary embodiment for the attachment of the additional reflector 17 to the lamp carrier 15 can be seen from FIG. 2b. It can be seen that a sheet metal flag 29 is cranked up out of the sheet metal plate 26.
  • the rib 20 of the additional reflector 17 in turn has a slot-shaped receptacle for the sheet metal lug 29, in which case the slot-shaped receptacle extends radially from the lateral surface of the rib 20 in the direction of the central axis 12.
  • the free end of the sheet metal lug 29 is inserted into this slot-shaped receptacle of the rib 20 in the radial direction and is clawed to the material of the additional reflector 17.
  • the free end of the sheet metal flag 29 is provided with at least two barbs 30 (FIG. 3b). These barbs 30 are each embossed on an outer edge of the sheet metal flag 29 transversely to the larger areas of the sheet metal flag 29.
  • the claw is thus essentially parallel to the central axis 12. This has the advantage that the width of the slot-shaped receptacle is not unnecessarily widened when the metal tab 29 is inserted, thereby reducing the risk of the rib 20 tearing on the narrow sides of the receptacle.
  • at least two such metal tabs 29 are provided diametrically opposite one another with respect to the holder 14 in order to ensure that the additional reflector 17 is securely attached to the lamp holder 15.
