Definitions
- multi-function hand shower is a hand shower understood that are used in several “operating modes” can.
- Each of these "operating modes” differs from the other by the character of the shower floor escaping water jets.
- the most famous modes of operation are the following: In “soft jet mode” the escaping water jets a relatively large Cross section on; they are relatively slow and enriched with air. Such jets of water considered by many users to be particularly pleasant and “soft” felt.
- hard jet mode emerge the shower base water jets relatively small Cross-section at a relatively high speed out; users perceive them as “hard” and have a desired massage effect. The latter leaves in the so-called “pulsator beam mode” even further amplify in which the hard rays are periodically interrupted become.
- each multi-function hand shower requires a changeover mechanism on which the User set the desired operating mode can.
- Known multi-function hand showers have switch mechanisms provided by the user not easy to are operating. Some of these switching mechanisms are located directly on the shower base and must be twisted the shower base or a concentric actuating ring be put into operation; there are some multiple manual controls if more than two operating modes are provided.
- the object of the present invention is a multi-function hand shower of the type mentioned at the outset, that it is operated by the user in a simple manner can be and save space within the housing the hand shower can be accommodated.
- the changeover mechanism according to the invention thus formed is easy for the user to grasp because only one Manual actuator is provided, which three clearly assume positions that can be assigned to the three operating modes can.
- the mechanism can be very space-saving in that Install housing.
- the first changeover element acts on a double valve plug, with two valve seats formed in the housing cooperates. So this shuttle valve can do that water flowing in via the handle of the hand shower Split two waterways:
- the first waterway leads to devices built into the shower housing, which enrich the water with air, and from there too proportionally large water outlet openings. Arise Soft blasting.
- the other waterway is for the two Operating modes determined in which hard blasting or pulsed Hard jets are generated, and then by second changeover organ a choice between these two operating modes can be hit.
- the second Changeover element also acts on a double valve plug, the one with a third and a fourth formed in the housing Valve seat interacts.
- the differentiation between the two working with hard shower jets Operating modes then take place again by splitting on two different waterways within the housing.
- the second switching element acts on a stop part, which in one of the two positions of the second changeover element outside the path of movement one on the pulsator wheel attached stop, and in the other the two positions of the second changeover in such a way Path of movement of the stop of the pulsator wheel is that the pulsator wheel is in a defined rotational position remains. Because of this configuration is within the shower for hard jet and pulsator jet operation only a single waterway is required. The spray pattern, which such a hand shower in hard jet and Pulsator beam operation shows is therefore identical (can be seen from the interruption of the water jet in the Pulsator operation from). Unlike in the cases where separate waterways for hard jet and pulsator operation are provided, the emerging in both modes Number of water jets can be kept large.
- the manual actuator can be a seesaw that is made of a middle first position in a clockwise direction second position and counterclockwise into one third position can be pivoted.
- Seesaws as actuators of sanitary elements are in and of themselves well known and popular because they are easy to use and optically pleasing to the corresponding sanitary elements to accommodate.
- the well-known rockers point but only two different swivel positions, while in a hand shower designed according to the invention the seesaw also has a medium position.
- the transfer of forces from the seesaw to the slide can be done, for example, so that on the rocker Actuating finger is molded into a driving recess of the slide engages.
- the pivoting movement of the The rocker operating finger can be easily inserted into one Implement linear movement of the slide.
- An embodiment of the invention is particularly preferred, where the guide and cam mechanism, related to the middle position of the slide, symmetrical works, but the stop of the slide in asymmetrical in relation to the middle position of the slider, that he works in just one off-center Position of the slide, the movement of the second changeover element prevented in the second position.
- this Embodiment of the invention thus corresponds to the middle Position of the slide of the first operating mode in which the first switching element takes its first position. No matter in which direction from this middle Position of the slide is shifted by the symmetrically designed guide and cam mechanism the first switch always in the second position brought.
- This configuration allows the first to be pivoted Umstellorganes, so that in the event of any alignment and Angular errors within the housing no jamming of the first changeover threatens.
- the stop of the slide can expediently by one perpendicular to the direction of movement of the second changeover element boom protruding from the slide be educated. This boom then covers the free one End of the second changeover element in the position in which this counter to the force of the spring in the first position should be withheld.
- At the free end of the boom can be at an angle to the direction of movement attached cam surface attached to the slide be. So the slider will be off-centered from that Position, which is the second position of the second changeover element corresponds, returned to the central position, so with the help of the inclined cam surface the second changeover to its first position pushed back by the force of the spring.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through the entire hand shower, based on this, the various inner waterways for the several operating modes are explained in which the hand shower can be operated.
- the hand shower shown includes in and of itself known manner, a housing 1, which in its Drawing left area 1a is expanded bell-shaped and in his right, largely broken off in Figure 1 Area passes into a handle 1b.
- the handle 1b is hollow; its interior 2 serves to supply the water, as is common with hand showers.
- the bell-shaped area 1a of the housing 1 is finished at the bottom by a shower base 3.
- a shower base 3 This continues in the illustrated embodiment an outer layer 3a made of an elastomeric material, which serves as a shock protection plate, and an inner rigid layer 3b together.
- the shower base 3 is with provided two sets of water outlet openings 4, 5, which are in concentric circles around the central axis of the shower base 3 are arranged.
- the water outlets 4 have a relatively small cross section; they are at the outer end of a hose-like nozzle insert 6, which is relatively far into the interior of the housing 1 extends.
- This nozzle insert 6 is made of elastomeric material.
- the water outlet openings are located in a corresponding manner 5, which have a relatively large cross section, at the outer end of hose-like nozzle inserts 7, which, however, only extends over a relatively short distance extend into the interior of the housing 1.
- the hose-like nozzle inserts 7 consist of elastomeric Material.
- an insert 8 is attached inside the bell-shaped area 1a of the housing 1 .
- the insert 8 can be roughly parallel to the shower base 3 extending area 8a and one from the back of this area 8a in Figure 1 upwards extending, substantially cylindrical extension 8b divide.
- the cylindrical neck 8b is in one cylindrical wall 9 molded onto the housing 1, sealed against this by an O-ring 10 and in the axial direction to the shower base 3 in a suitable manner - For example, by gluing or locking (not shown) - fixed.
- the shower base 3 is by a central fastening screw 11 on the insert 8 and thus on the housing 1 attached in a central stepped bore 12 of the Insert 8 is screwed.
- a first annular space 13 is located inside the cylindrical one Insert 8b. It stands with a radial, in Direction towards the through opening 1b 14 in the ring wall 9 of the housing 1 in connection.
- the annulus 13 also communicates through a variety of through holes 15 which are in its annular Are provided with a second annular space 16, which is parallel to the shower base 3, in extending essentially over its entire surface Water distribution room 17 opens.
- the water distribution room 17 communicates with the inner ends of the tubular Nozzle inserts 7 leading to the water outlet openings 5 belong with a larger cross-section.
- a third annular space 18 is cut out, the through-holes distributed over several circumferences 19 with a fourth annular space 20 in connection stands.
- the fourth annular space 20 surrounds the third Annulus 18 concentric with a larger radius.
- each hose-like nozzle insert 6 In the bottom of the fourth annulus 20 are coaxial each hose-like nozzle insert 6, through holes 21 provided, which at its outer end of small cylindrical collars 22 are surrounded, the bottom of the insert 8 are formed.
- the cylindrical Collars 22 take the inner ends of the tubular Nozzle inserts 6; due to the elastic properties this hose-like nozzle inserts 6 is on this way a tight transition of water from the fourth Annulus 20 to the water outlet openings 4 small Cross-section guaranteed.
- a pulsator wheel 23 can be rotated in the fourth annular space 20 stored, which - as in particular also of FIG remove is - with a multitude of curved ones turbine blades extending essentially in the radial direction 24 is equipped.
- the pulsator wheel 23 is guided in one piece molded annular rib 25, which in a Groove 26 runs in the bottom surface of the fourth annular space 20.
- the rib 25 of the pulsator wheel 23 carries diametrically opposite two cover ring segments 27, which are each over an angle of approximately 90 ° parallel to the bottom of the fourth annular space 20 and extend in the corresponding Circumferential area of the annular space 20, the through holes Cover 21.
- On one of the cover ring segments 27 also axially between the turbine wheels 24 outstanding stop 28 molded. This still serves to be described, the pulsator 23 in a block certain rotational position.
- the cover ring segments 27 are also many small through holes 29 provided, which in the blocking position mentioned of the pulsator wheel 23 each with a through hole Align 21 of the insert 8.
- valve seat 30 In the housing 1 of the hand shower is between the interior 2 of the handle 1b and the through opening 14 first, axially downwardly directed valve seat 30 is formed.
- a second valve seat 31 is located coaxially with the first Valve seat 30 on a cylindrical collar 32 of the insert 8, which in a complementary opening 33 of the housing 1st inserted and sealed against this by an O-ring 34 is.
- the second valve seat 31 stands over through bores 35 with the third annular space 18 in connection.
- the two valve seats 30 and 31 act axially movable shuttle 36 together, which in turn from a shaft part 37 and the actual, with the valve seats 30 and 31 cooperating seal 38 composed.
- the shaft part 37 of the double valve cone 36 is made through an opening 39 from the housing 1, one between the outer surface of the shaft part 37 and a corresponding housing wall arranged molded seal 40 the leakage of water from the interior of the housing 1 prevented.
- the outer end of the Shaft part 37 is in with a switching mechanism Connection, provided overall with the reference number 41 is, partially in a recess 42 on the top the housing 1 is housed and further below is described.
- the double valve cone 36 is by a compression spring 43, between a step of the shaft part 37 and one the washer 44 supporting the housing 1 is braced is so acted that the seal 38 of the shuttle valve normally in the figure 1 position shown, so the second valve seat 31 closes.
- the entire double valve plug 36 is coaxial from one Stop rod 45 passes through. This is with her lower one End passed through a bore 46 which in leads the fourth annulus 20.
- the stop rod 45 can be within the double valve cone 36 move axially. It can have two positions ingest: in the first position shown in Figure 1 the lower end of the stop rod 45 protrudes so far into the fourth annulus 20 that it is in the path of movement of the stop 28 of the pulsator wheel 23 located. When the stop 28 abuts the lower End of the stop rod 45 arrives in the Cover segment 27 provided through holes 29 the through holes 21 of the insert 8 aligned.
- the stop rod is in the second axial position 45 move so far up that its lower end does not more in the path of movement of the stop 28 of the pulsator wheel 23 is that the pulsator 23 is completely free can be twisted.
- the first operating mode of the hand shower is in Figure 1 as well shown in Figures 2a to 2c.
- it is through closed the double valve cone 36 of the second valve seat 31. That about the interior 2 of the handle 1b inflowing water flows past the first valve seat through the through opening 14 of the wall 9 of the housing 1 in the first annular space 13 of the insert 8b. From there the water continues to flow through the openings 15 in the second annular space 16, in the water distribution space 17 and then over a ring sieve 50, which the inner ends of the hose-like nozzle inserts 7 covered, to the outside.
- the second operating mode of the shower is then obtained if the shuttle valve 36 is shifted upwards, thus closes the first valve seat 30 and the second Valve seat 31 releases.
- the stop rod 45 against it is still in the position in which its lower end the free rotatability of the Pulsator wheel 23 prevented.
- the conditions are in Figures 3a to 3c shown.
- the double valve cone has 36 the same position as in the second operating mode open: This means that it blocks the first valve seat 30 and releases the second valve seat 31.
- the stop bar 45 on the other hand, is now withdrawn axially upwards, so that its lower end is the rotation of the pulsator wheel 23 no longer disabled.
- the waterway is the same as in the second mode: the water flows via the interior 2 of the handle 1b on the second valve seat 31 over through the openings 35 in the third annular space 18, from there via the radial through openings 19 in the fourth annular space 20 and from this via the through openings 21 and the hose-like Small nozzle inserts 6 to the water outlet openings 4 Cross section.
- rocker-type manual actuator 53 hereinafter briefly called "seesaw”.
- the rocker 53 closes the recess 42 of the housing 1 upwards and protrudes only so far about that it can be operated easily.
- On the seesaw 53 is an actuating finger projecting into the interior of the recess 42 54 molded. This one is in its upper Range penetrated by a pivot pin 55 which in the side walls of the housing 1 is held. On in this way, the rocker 53 can be moved around a horizontal pivot axis defined by the pivot pin 55.
- the lower end of the actuating finger 54 engages in one Driving recess 57 of a slide 56.
- the slider 56 is due to a suitable shape of its side wall and the adjacent housing wall within the recess 42 displaceable in the sense of the double arrow 58 guided.
- the arrangement is obviously such that Pressure on the rocker 53 of the slide 56 within the recess 42 can be moved linearly, between three positions, the three operating modes described above correspond to the hand shower.
- Figures 2a to 2c is the middle position of both the rocker 53 and the Slider 56 shown which the first mode the hand shower corresponds to "soft jet operation".
- the upper end of the shaft part 37 is spherical, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2a. It is designed by a complementary partially spherical Inner surface of a drive ring composed of two parts 63 added.
- the drive ring 63 is in one molded onto the bottom of the recess 42 of the housing 1 cylindrical collar 64 guided axially.
- Driving pins 65 Perpendicular to the drawing plane protrude from the outer surface of the driving ring 63, diametrically opposite, two Driving pins 65 out, as in FIGS. 2b and 2c can be seen.
- the drive pins 65 are from the guide slots 62 of the adjacent guide plates 61 added. This can be seen particularly in FIG. 2c.
- the first operating mode ie in "soft jet mode" is the relative position of the slide 56 and in particular of the V-shaped ones provided in the guide plates 61 Guide slots 62 opposite the top of the poppet 36 so that the driving pins 65 in lower vertex of the V-shaped guide slots 62.
- This is shown in Figure 2c. Obviously this is the position in which the double valve plug 36 can take the lowest position, in which its seal 38 closes the second valve seat 31. Due to the internal form fit between the shaft part 37 of the double valve plug 36 and the stop rod 45 the latter is also in its lowest position, so in which its lower end in the fourth annulus 20 protrudes.
- the upper end of the stop rod 45 is at a short distance from the cam surface 60 on the boom 59 of the slide 56 opposite.
- the double valve plug 36 How particular 3c can be seen from the linear movement of the slide 56 to the left the driving pins 65 of the drive ring 63 in the right in the drawing lying legs of the V-shaped guide slots 62 pressed. Because of the inclination of this leg become the guide pins 65 in a kind of cam effect pulled up; due to the form fit between the driving ring 63 and the shaft part 37 of the double valve cone 36 follows the latter axially upwards until it as shown in Figures 3a and 3c, the first valve seat 30 closes. There, as mentioned, with this axial movement of the double valve plug 36 the stop rod 45 stops axially, this is the between double valve cone 36 and stop rod 45 arranged compression spring 49 compressed.
- the conditions are obvious now as desired for the second operating mode :
- the water can be at the second valve seat 31 over the third annulus 18 into the fourth annulus 20 and flow from there to the water outlet openings 4, however, the stop bar 45 is still the Rotatability of the pulsator 23 prevents.
- the second changeover element acts on a second one Double valve cone with which the water is optional to two different ones, the "hard jet operation” and the Steer waterways assigned to “pulsator jet operation” leaves.
- the second changeover element is moved also in this embodiment in the above Wise.
