Description

The present invention relates to the field of facades of buildings or other similar constructions, of which the surface, visible from the outside, made up of a whole of glass panels juxtaposed, is generally called "curtain or semi-curtain facade", each panel being consisting of glazing fixed to a support structure planned towards the interior of the building, the mounting of the wall glazed in the openings in this facade for make up the windows, in particular using means now well known in the art and responding to the classic designation called "VEC", for exterior glazing glue.

More particularly, in such an embodiment, to the right of the openings provided in the facade, the glazing glued to its support structure is held in a sash metal frame called striking, hinged around an axis carried by a fixed frame of a frame receiving the previous, this axis allowing to rotate the opening or on the contrary to bring it back in the plane of this facade against the frame against which it can then be Locked.

Glued glazing carried by the sash frame is arranged at the bottom of an open rebate of this chassis which has an internal rim parallel to the glass panel correspondent, provided with a coin receiving groove intermediary whose characteristics are determined from so as to make it compatible with a bonding putty interposed between this part and the glazing, which rests or laterally rests on the edge of the chassis in the rabbet by means of positioning shims, distributed around the periphery of this glazing.

The glazing thus glued to its support structure is applied, in the closed position of the sash against the fixed frame of the frame, which itself has glass panels similar to those of this opening, immobilized in a traditional way with respect to the support structure between appropriate uprights and clamps.

This fixed frame has at its periphery a seal which surrounds the outer edge of the opening to form a first sealing barrier, between the outside of the curtain facade and support structure, especially when the sash is applied to the frame, with its glazing glued in contact with this seal.

However, in the usual solutions implemented works for this kind of construction, it is advisable to provide between the seal carried by the frame and on which applies the glazing of the opening, to the four corners of this last, security parts, made in the form of gussets, these parts being integral with the chassis of opening it by extending its rebate for receiving the glazing in the corners of this frame, and trapping the corners of the glazing so as to oppose the fall of this outward in case the bonding of the glazing on the intermediate part of its structure support would give way.

Such an achievement is complex and above all relatively expensive, both due to the use of parts safety reported on the sash of the sash after installation in place and gluing of the glazing, only due to the operations necessary assembly, which require interventions complementary and sometimes complex.

The present invention relates to a seal for window frame with impact for a curtain type facade or semi-curtain, made up of glued glass panels; received each in the fixed frame of a frame, this joint not only to provide a sealing function between the frame and the glass panel of the sash, but also to play the role of security room, in opposing the fall of the glazing from the opening towards the exterior, in case of failure of the bonding material of this glazing.

For this purpose, the seal according to the preamble of claim 1 is characterized in that it comprises a head hanging on the fixed frame of the frame against which applies the sash and an appendage projecting towards inside the surface of the glazing carried by the frame of the opening, surrounding its periphery, this appendage comprising a sealing lip forming a safety barrier in the event detachment of the glazing of the opening, this lip being suitable to be applied to the glazing and being connected to the attachment head by a connection zone against which abuts the end of the return plane of the opening frame, so as to rotate the lip around a fixed point between the attachment head and the appendage, causing a deflection of the latter which comes to apply its lip on the edge of the glazing with increasing progressiveness, function of the displacement of the plane return towards the sleeping.

Preferably, the sealing lip of the appendix has a slightly rounded profile whose concavity is directed towards the glazing carried by the sash of the sash.

Thanks to these provisions and in particular to a appropriate choice of the position of the fixed pivot point of the appendix relative to the attack region of this joint by the return plane of the opening frame, we obtain a support of the lip on the glazing all the more effective as the sash frame is closer to its position of closure where it is substantially arranged in the plane of the facade.

In other words, the larger the sash is close to its closed position relative to the surface of the facade inside the fixed frame of the frame that receives it, plus the support of the sealing lip on the glazing is important, ensuring more effective sealing sought.

Advantageously and according to a characteristic particular joint, the joint is hollow, the area of connection between the attachment head and the appendix projection with a rounded extension on which gradually rests on the end edge of the plane return by flexing this extension towards the head hanging.

Also preferably, the extension of the appendix is connected to the base of the hanging head by a thin strip forming a return spring, adapted to rotate the appendage around the fixed point.

According to another essential characteristic, the hanging head on the fixed frame of the frame forms a support stop, located at a level higher than that of the point fixed around which the joint appendage pivots, avoiding the seal is not pushed outwards under the effect of the thrust of the return plane.

The joint considered, we have the characteristics of form are set out above, can be achieved in any suitable material with elastic properties adequate. Preferably but not exclusively, this seal can be made of an elastomeric material, in particular synthetic rubber and advantageously EPDM.

Other characteristics of a seal for a sash of a sash opening from a curtain or semi-curtain facade, established in accordance with the invention, will become more apparent from the following description of an exemplary embodiment, given by way of indication and nonlimiting, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 schematically illustrates part of a building facade, called curtain or semi-curtain, comprising a plurality of juxtaposed glass panels, the openings provided in this facade being made according to the conventional technique known as glued exterior glazing, each of chassis of these striking type opening being equipped with a seal according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a partial cross-sectional view, on a larger scale, of a fixed frame of a frame receiving an opening of the facade according to Figure 1, this frame being provided with a seal according to the invention.
  • Figures 3 and 4 are sectional views, on an even larger scale, of the joint in question, making it possible to better explain its structure and its operation when the movable opening and the fixed frame come into contact, Figure 3 illustrating the position of this seal before pressing the frame of the sash on it and Figure 4 that occupied once the sash fully applied to the frame.

In Figure 1, reference 1 schematically designates a facade of a building or similar construction, of the type known as the curtain facade, this facade being formed by the juxtaposition of fixed glass panels such as 2, mounted with a conventional technique in the exterior surface of the facade, being immobilized against a support structure, not shown, in which each panel is held between an amount of this structure and a suitable clamping member.

In the facade 1 are provided openings 3, in front of which are arranged glass panels 4, each of these panels 4 being mobile and carried by a sash frame 5, articulated on a fixed frame 6 in look, mounted in the facade and delimiting the opening corresponding, the opening elements preferably being of the hit.

In particular, the panel 4 of the opening is of the type glazed exterior glazing and has for this purpose, so itself well known in the art, a glazed panel 7, advantageously made up of two parallel panes 8 and 9 separated by an insert 10, mounted between these two panes according to their periphery.

The glass panel 7 is supported by the frame 5 to the interior of an open rebate 11, delimited by a rear bulkhead 12 and a plan return 13 directed towards the exterior of the facade.

In this chassis 5 is also provided, in the partition 12, a housing 14 inside which is mounted an intermediate part 15, generally metallic and of which the characteristics are chosen so that it has good compatibility with a bonding putty 16, arranged between this part and the opposite glass 9 of the glazed panel 7, which is thus directly glued to inside the rebate 11 of the chassis 5.

The glazing 7 rests at its lower part on the back plane 13 of the rebate 11 via support wedges 17, blocks 18 and 19 respectively of a suitable sealing material being housed above and in front of these shims, as shown in Figure. A bead of finishing putty 20 is advantageously arranged in the front face of the glass panel 7, around the glass 8 at the end of the return plane 13, to perfect the seal of the assembly.

The frame of the frame 6 also includes a glazed panel 21, formed by two parallel panes 22 and 23 separated by a tab 24.

The tightness when mounting the panel 21 in the frame 6 is made using seals 25 and 26, worn by webs 27 and 28 of the profiles forming the chassis 6, which further comprises an outer wall 29 provided with a groove 30 for mounting a seal 31, suitable for coming in contact with a tongue 32 provided under the return plane 13, when the leaf 5 is applied against the frame 6 in the position illustrated in Figure 2.

The veil 27 has an upper extension 33, comprising a groove 34 for mounting another seal 35, which is more particularly the subject of this invention and will therefore be described in more detail below.

The frame equipment of the frame 6 is completed finally using an outer cover 36, advantageously fixed from the outside of this chassis like a clip, with two returns respectively 37 and 38 coming to tighten by the exterior of the extensions 39 and 40 of the web 27.

Figures 3 and 4 illustrate on a larger scale the structure of the seal 35 according to the invention.

This seal, advantageously made of a material thermoplastic or suitable elastomer, especially of the type synthetic rubber, such as EPDM, is hollow and comprises a hooking head 41, comprising a part overflowing 42 capable of coming to engage in the groove 34 of the sail 27 of frame 6, immobilizing the seal behind a circular projection 43 provided in the open part of this throat.

The head 41 of the joint is extended by an appendage 44, directed upwards and terminated in the shape of a lip slightly curved 45, and whose concavity is turned towards the glazed panel 7 of the opening, this lip being intended to be applied against the external surface of the window 8 thereof, when this opening is in the position of closure in the frame 6, as shown in the Figure 4.

The appendix 44 of the joint 35 is connected to the part central 46 of the joint behind the attachment head 41, by through a thinned zone 47, which is in abutment against the circular projection 43 delimiting the groove 34 which receives the head 41 of this joint.

This thinned area 47 thus constitutes a fixed point around which, due to the hollow structure of the joint, can rotate and flex Appendix 44, moving the relative position of the lip 45, following a transverse force exerted on the joint by the end of the return plane 13 of the sash of the sash 5 when it closer to the frame 6.

In particular, the outer edge 48 of the return 13 comes here apply, beyond a connecting zone 49, against a rounded extension 50 formed at the end of the appendix 44 and continuing the lip 45 downwards projecting towards the inside of the facade in the direction of the opening.

At its end opposite to the connection zone 49, the extension 50 has a strip 51 which connects it to the base 52 of the central part 46 of the joint forming, due of the elasticity of the material which constitutes it, a sort of return spring such that when the return 13 of the sash frame 5 departs from this joint, the strip 51 previously compressed relaxes, pushing back the appendix 44 and bending the lip 45 in the opposite direction which returns to its original position.

A seal for the chassis is thus produced. door opening which has a number of advantages, in particular because of the various functions it assumes simultaneously.

First, by pressing the lip 45 on the window 8 of the glass panel 7 of the opening, this seal ensures effectively a first sealing barrier between the exterior of the curtain wall and the interior of the building, before this seal is completed by a second barrier created between the seal 31 and the tongue 32 provided under the return 13.

En second lieu, le joint 35 joue le rôle de barrière ou butée de sécurité pour le panneau vitré 7, en évitant toute possibilité de basculement de celui-ci vers l'extérieur, en particulier en cas de rupture du collage réalisé entre ce panneau et la pièce intermédiaire 15 par le bloc de mastic 16.Secondly, the seal 35 plays the role of safety barrier or stop for the glass panel 7, in avoiding any possibility of tilting it towards the exterior, in particular in the event of a break in bonding produced between this panel and the intermediate part 15 by the putty block 16.

Third, we can see that, thanks to the rounded shape of its extension 50, the attack of the joint by the edge 48 of the return plane 13 takes place gradually, which makes it possible to standardize the behavior of the joint according to the four sides of the sash frame, opposite which the presentation of this seal is different, depending on the side where the opening of the opening is arranged on the sleeping.

Band 51 acting as a return spring finally allows to safely restore the position of the seal as soon as the opening moves away from the frame, avoiding that, during of a new maneuver of this opening, it does not pass over the joint, with the risk of destruction possible of it and breaking the first barrier sealing.

In total, the seal according to the invention, apart from its usual sealing function which is here progressive, is arranged so that the greater the effort of closing the sash, the more effective the action of this seal, allowing it to directly replace the parts of security required in conventional solutions for keep the glazing stuck against its support structure, in case of possible failure of the adhesive sealant.

Of course, it goes without saying that the invention is not not limit to the example described with reference to the drawings; on the contrary, it embraces all its variants.
