Description

The present invention relates to an interface device comprising a base, constituted by a profile comprising a central body bordered by two upper and lower longitudinal sides, a printed circuit board mounted on the base, and at least one interface block comprising a terminal block provided at the front with a row of aligned terminals, fixed and electrically connected at the rear to the printed circuit by connection plugs soldered thereto.

An interface device is intended to be electrically interposed between a processing unit such as a programmable controller and electrical equipment capable of being operated or controlled by the processing unit. The interface function is provided by interface blocks commonly comprising a first terminal block, for the connection of cables ensuring the transmission of input signals from transmitters to the PLC or the transmission of output signals from the PLC for actuators. The interface blocks can optionally include a second terminal block, disposed below the first terminal block, for use identical to that of the first terminal block or for distribution of a polarity of the power supply. The terminal blocks are each provided with a row of connection terminals aligned and mounted on connection plugs welded to the printed circuit of the device, the row of the second terminal block being parallel and offset in depth with respect to that of the first terminal block.

It is sometimes useful to provide in such a device a third terminal block which can, for example, be used for an earth connection or to allow distribution of the complementary polarity of the power supply; this terminal block has a row of terminals provided in parallel to the other two rows and provided with connection plugs soldered to the same printed circuit of the device. In the current state of the art, an interface device is therefore provided during its manufacture to include either one, two, or three rows of terminals; it is therefore impossible for a user who has a device with two terminals to add at any time an additional terminal to make a third row of terminals.

The invention therefore aims to provide an interface device to which it is easy to add an additional terminal block.

According to the invention, the device is characterized in that the additive terminal block is dissociated from the interface block and the printed circuit board and is mounted under the base by means of retaining means which cooperate with it, preferably by snap-fastening with at least one longitudinal groove provided in the lower flank of the profile, preferably in the lower face of this flank.

The retaining means may advantageously consist of snap-fastening elements, in particular M-shaped, integral with the upper face of the body of the additive terminal block. These elements include a core, lateral feet connecting to the core and bearing on said upper face, and an elastic tongue secured to the core and intended to snap irreversibly into the groove of the profile.

The retaining means are preferably arranged alternately along two longitudinal parallel axes of the additive terminal block and cooperate with two longitudinal parallel grooves on the underside of the lower flank of the profile. This arrangement ensures better mechanical retention of the terminal block at the base.

In addition, the upper face of the body of the additive terminal block has shapes which cooperate with a profiled groove complementary to the lower face of the base to secure the terminal block to the base.

  • la figure 1 représente une vue éclatée du dispositif d'interface selon l'invention;
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference, by way of example, to the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 shows an exploded view of the interface device according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 shows a sectional view of the device.

The interface device, visible in Figure 1, is intended to be electrically interposed between a processing unit, for example a programmable controller, and electrical equipment capable of being operated or controlled by this unit.

The device comprises a base 1, a printed circuit card 2, a power supply unit 3, and at least one interface block 4. The interface block 4 is provided at the front and at its lower part with an integrated upper terminal block 5 and an attached lower terminal block 6 parallel and offset in depth with respect to the terminal block 5. The device further comprises an additive terminal block 7 intended to be mounted under the base 1 and to be arranged parallel and so offset in depth from the other two terminal blocks.

The base 1 consists of a profile produced by extrusion capable of being mounted by conventional means of attachment to a rail secured to a wall or plate. The profile comprises in one piece a central body 10, and upper 11 and lower 12 longitudinal sides disposed in advance respectively on the edges of said body.

The sidewalls 11 and 12 respectively have on their internal face a longitudinal slide 13, and the lower side 12 has below, in its external or lower face 12a, two parallel longitudinal grooves 14 and 15.

The card 2, of small thickness, is mounted on the base 1 so that its longitudinal edges 21 are housed in the slides 13. It comprises a printed circuit and a multi-way connector 20 soldered to this circuit; the connector is intended to be connected to the PLC, and the printed circuit makes it possible to connect each channel of the connector with a channel of the interface block 4 or the power supply 3.

The power supply unit 3 is provided with supply terminals 30 to distribute the supply voltage to the processing unit and supply terminals 31 to distribute the control voltage to the electrical equipment.

The interface block 4 comprises a box 40 which has in its lower part the integrated upper terminal block 5.

Each terminal 50 is a screw terminal, with a lift cage 51, and provided with a connection plug 52 soldered to the printed circuit to allow it to electrically connect a cable inserted in the terminal. The connection plug 52 also ensures the mechanical fixing of the housing 40 to the card 2.

The housing 40 can moreover accommodate, in its upper part, light diffusers 81 which are opposite light-emitting diodes 82 soldered to the printed circuit and which open at the front of the housing onto windows 80.

The lower reported terminal block 6 of the interface block is mounted below the terminal block 5. It comprises a body 60 which has on its upper face 60a transverse ribs 61 which cooperate with ribs provided on the lower face of the housing 40. The face lower 60b of the body 60 is at the same level as the horizontal external face 12a of the lower side 12 of the base.

Terminal block 6 comprises a row of screw terminals 62 of the aligned elevator cage type, which are provided with connection plugs 63 soldered to the printed circuit. This second row of terminals 62 is arranged parallel to the row of terminals 50 and offset in depth with respect to the latter.

The additive terminal block 7 comprises a row of aligned terminals 70 connected together which can for example be used for an earth connection or for a distribution of the polarity of the supply opposite to the polarity distributed by the terminal block 6.

The terminal block consists of a body 71, an additive printed circuit board 72, and a base 73. The screw terminal 70 of the elevator cage type are provided with connection plugs 74 which are soldered to the printed circuit. of the additive card 72 to make an electrical connection between these plugs, and to contribute to the mechanical fixing of the additive card 72 to the body 71. The base 73 is intended to be mounted at the rear of the body 71 in order to protect the printed circuit board and close the terminal block body; this rear closing of the terminal block is carried out by means of attachment means 75 provided on the base 73 which engage in recesses 76 in the body 71.

The additive terminal block thus forms a monobloc assembly and it is mounted under the base 1 of the device below the lower terminal block 6 so as to arrange the row of terminals 70 in a parallel manner and offset in depth with respect to the other two rows of terminals 50 and 60. A positioning lug 71b is preferably provided on the surface 71a of the additive terminal block to cooperate with a recess in the interface block or on the surface 60b of the terminal block 6 in order to allow vertical and parallel positioning of the terminals 70 with the terminals 50.

The terminal block 7 is fixed to the base by means of retaining means 77. These means are integral with the upper face 71a of the body 71 of the terminal block, they are arranged alternately along two longitudinal parallel axes of the body 71 and are able to cooperate with the grooves 14 and 15 of the profile. The horizontal upper face 71a of the body 71 of the terminal block is thus applied against the horizontal lower face 12a of the base.

The retaining means 77 are of the snap type or the like. They consist of M-shaped elements which each comprise a core 78, and two lateral feet 79 respectively disposed at the two ends of the core, and bearing in an integral manner on the upper face 71a. The core has in its middle an elastic tongue 78a with an oblique flank intended to be snapped irreversibly into the groove 14 or 15.

To mount the additive terminal block under the base 1, it is positioned under the interface block 4 thanks to the positioning lug 71b, the core 78 of the retaining means is engaged in the grooves 14 and 15 of the profile. Finally, a substantially vertical force F directed from the bottom up is exerted on the terminal block, which has the effect of compressing the elastic tongues 78a at the openings 14a and 15a of the grooves and then seating the edges 78b of the tongues on the internal edges. 14b and 15b of the grooves. The elements 77 are arranged alternately in opposite directions along each axis so that, the tongues being oriented in opposite directions, the edges 78b of the tongues bear oppositely on the edges 14b and 15b of the grooves for better mechanical strength. of the terminal block. To further strengthen this holding, it is possible to secure, for example by gluing, in a complementary profiled groove 12b of the face 12a of the base of the cooperating shapes 71c provided on the surface 71a of the terminal block.

The electrical connection of the additive terminal block is made using an external electric wire, wired by the user between a terminal 70 and for example a terminal 31 of the power supply unit 3, for a distribution of polarity of the power supply. .
