Definitions
- the invention relates to a valve station according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Valve stations of this type are disclosed in US-A-4,399,836. They contain, as a rule, a plate-like fluid distribution device which is equipped with a plurality of multi-way valves arranged in a linear row. The working fluid, which is in particular compressed air, is supplied via the fluid distribution device.
- each multi-way valve is equipped with at least one valve drive, which generally contains at least one electromagnet, which acts on a control element.
- These valve drives receive their actuation signals via a signal distribution device which extends along the fluid distribution device and communicates with an electronic control device.
- various fluid-operated devices of any system or device can be controlled from a central location. Such devices can, as indicated in the German utility model DE-U-92 11 109, be connected to the individual multi-way valves via rigid or flexible fluid lines.
- the fact that the multi-way valves are oriented practically upright means that the valve station has a small overall width.
- the supply of the multi-way valves with the required working fluid takes place via an orifice on the end face of a respective one facing the respective assembly station Multi-way valve, so that a direct fluid connection is possible without external connecting hoses, which favors the compactness.
- valve station is therefore already very compact, in some applications, for example in the printing industry, there has been a need for an even more compact design.
- a reduction in the dimensions would be desirable both in the width direction and in the height direction — with respect to the row direction of the successively arranged multi-way valves. It should be possible to vent connected devices via the multi-way valves.
- the ventilation channel integrated in the fluid distribution device enables a common ventilation of all connected multi-way valves.
- the arrangement according to the invention enables a particularly simple arrangement of a manual control device, since the valve member is already aligned in the normal device to the assembly area and thus one of the two end faces of the multi-way valve is unhindered and is generally accessible from above.
- the manual actuation device can be equipped with a simple actuation part which protrudes from the end of the valve housing and acts directly on the valve member in the event of manual displacement without special deflection.
- the actuator can be conveniently suspended from an elastic membrane with restoring properties.
- the exemplary valve station 1 initially contains a control part 2 with a block-like shape in particular.
- a control part 2 with a block-like shape in particular.
- a block-like elongated distributor device 4 which is composed of a fluid distributor device 5 for fluid and a signal distributor device 6 for in particular electrical valve actuation signals.
- the distributor device 4 has a distributor housing 7 which functions as a common housing for both distributor devices 5, 6.
- the fluid distribution device 5 is provided, for example, on its upper side with an assembly surface 8 for multi-way valves 12. It is subdivided into a plurality of valve assembly stations 13, which are arranged in succession in a row direction 14, this row direction 14 running parallel to the longitudinal axis 15 of the distributor device 4.
- a multi-way valve 12 can be detachably mounted on each valve assembly station 13; in the exemplary embodiment there are five valve assembly stations 13, all of which are equipped.
- Each multi-way valve 12 is equipped with at least one valve drive 16, which is in particular attached directly to the valve housing 17 in question.
- Each valve drive 16 is controlled by the valve actuation signals already mentioned, which are supplied via the signal distribution device 6.
- the valve drives 16 are formed by an electromagnet device 18, the magnet coil (not shown) being able to move a control element 22 which functions as a valve element and which controls a control channel 23 of the associated multi-way valve 12 which is yet to be explained.
- Each valve drive 16 is mounted on the signal distribution device 6 on a valve drive assembly location 24, which is located transversely to the longitudinal axis 15 next to the valve assembly location 13 of the associated multi-way valve 12.
- a linear row of valve drive assembly places 24 is also provided here, the row direction 25 parallel to the row direction 14 runs.
- a feed channel 26 runs parallel to the longitudinal axis 15. It opens on the one hand at the end of the distributor housing 7 opposite the control part 2, where a fluid line 27 leading to a pressure medium source is connected. On the other hand, it is jointly assigned to all multi-way valves 12 by opening to each valve assembly location 13 via branch channels. The corresponding mouths are indicated at 28.
- the distributor housing 7 contains a relief or ventilation channel 32, which on the one hand opens out on the same end face as the feed channel 26, so that a silencer 34 or a further ventilation line can be connected.
- the ventilation channel 32 also has openings 33 which open to a respective valve assembly location 13.
- the feed channel 26 and the ventilation channel 32 are each designed as collecting channels, via which the multi-way valves 12 are supplied or vented with working fluid. With this working fluid, fluid-operated devices 35 connected to the multi-way valves 12 are actuated. Such a fluid-actuated device 35 in the form of a working cylinder is indicated in FIG. 1 by way of illustration.
- Each multi-way valve 12 contains in the interior of its valve housing 17 a valve member 36 which can execute a reciprocating linear switching movement.
- the direction of the switching movement is indicated in FIG. 2 by double arrow 37.
- the valve member 36 controls two consumer channels 38 per multi-way valve 12, which via two consumer connection openings 43 lead to an outer housing surface 44 of the valve housing 17 open out.
- Rigid or elastic fluid lines 42 which are laid to the device 35 to be actuated, can in particular be releasably connected to these.
- the valve member 36 can assume two switching positions, which are indicated in Fig. 2 on both sides of its axis of symmetry 45 forming the axis of symmetry, so that alternately either one or the other consumer connection opening 43 is supplied with working fluid, while venting the other through the other connected device 35 takes place.
- valve member 36 The switching movement of the valve member 36 is brought about by fluid control signals which the feed channel 26 supplies as a function of the position of the actuator 22. This in turn depends on the operating state of the associated valve drive 16, which is influenced by the valve actuation signals. In the exemplary embodiment, these valve actuation signals are generated directly in the control part 2, which for this purpose is equipped with a programmable control device.
- the signals in question reach the individual valve drive assembly locations 24 via signal conductors (not shown in more detail) of the signal distribution device 6, where they are picked up by the respective valve drive 16.
- the signal transmission takes place by means of a circuit board arrangement 46, which extends in a cavity 47 of the distributor housing 7 starting from the control part 2 in the row direction 25 and in the area of a respective valve drive assembly area 24 has electrical plug contact means 48 into which the assembled valve drives 16 with complementary plug contact means 49 intervention.
- a circuit board arrangement 46 which extends in a cavity 47 of the distributor housing 7 starting from the control part 2 in the row direction 25 and in the area of a respective valve drive assembly area 24 has electrical plug contact means 48 into which the assembled valve drives 16 with complementary plug contact means 49 intervention.
- individual flexible signal conductors can also be laid.
- the multi-way valves 12 are switched in the control part 2 in accordance with the specifications of the control program in order to operate the connected fluid-actuated devices in a desired manner.
- the control device does not necessarily have to be integrated in the control part 2, but can also be formed separately, so that the control part 2 may only work as a distribution station.
- the control part 2 can be, for example, a fieldbus communication unit.
- the valve station is extremely compact, since the multi-way valves 12 are fixed at the assigned valve assembly locations 13 in such a way that the above-mentioned direction 37 of the switching movement of the associated valve member 36 runs at right angles to the assembly surface 8.
- a respective valve housing 12 is mounted so that it sits with one of its two axially aligned end faces 53 on the associated valve assembly location 13.
- the normal direction of the placement surface 8 coincides with the longitudinal axis 45 of the valve member 36.
- the consumer connection openings 43 were provided in the region of the second end face 56 of the valve housing 17 facing away from the mounting surface 8, the fluid lines connected there would have to be curved upwards and at the same time laterally away, so that the fluid lines contribute to a significant increase in the overall width.
- the compactness of the overall arrangement also contributes to the fact that the orifices 28, 33 provided in the area of the valve assembly locations 13 communicate directly with orifices 57, 58 of valve channels 59, 60 of the respective multi-way valve 12 by said orifices 57, 58 pointing downwards first end face 53 are formed and arranged such that they are opposite the distributor-side orifices 28, 33. External connection lines are therefore unnecessary.
- valve channel 59 which communicates in this way with the feed channel 26, is connected by the valve member 56, depending on the switching position, to one or the other of the consumer channels 38 formed in the valve.
- a further valve channel which forms the control channel 23 already mentioned, branches off from this valve channel 59 in the interior of the valve housing 17. The passage of fluid through this is interrupted or released depending on the position of the control member 22. If it is released, the fluid acts on an actuating piston 61, which is connected to the valve member 36, in the region of the second end face 56. As a result, the valve member 36 moves against the force of a return spring arrangement 61 from the previously assumed first switching position into a second one which is displaced in the direction of the actuating surface 8 Switched position switched.
- the return spring arrangement 52 moves the valve member 36 back into the first switching position.
- the multi-way valves 12 of the exemplary embodiment are thus controlled only in one direction of movement. However, it would be entirely possible to provide a valve member 36 controlled in both switching directions, it being possible to assign two valve actuators to a respective multi-way valve 12.
- valve channel 60 is formed by the end section of the receptacle 62 receiving the valve member 36 and assigned to the first end face 53.
- the receptacle 62 is open to the first end face 53 and lies opposite the mouth 33.
- the multi-way valves 12 used in the exemplary embodiment are distinguished by a very good sealing effect of their valve members 36.
- the design of these valve members 36 as seat valve members is primarily responsible for this.
- the elongated valve member 36 each has a central sealing element 63, which optionally cooperates with one of two annular valve seats 64 to connect the valve channel 59 to one of the two consumer channels 38.
- this sealing element 63 is flanked by two further sealing elements 65, 66 which, depending on the position, establish a connection between one of the consumer channels 38 and the mouth 33, a valve seat 67, 68 being assigned to each of them.
- the two consumer channels 38 are arranged one above the other in the height direction 55.
- the lower one is vented via the mouth 58, the upper one via a valve channel 60 ', which is only indicated by dash-dotted lines, the connection of which to the ventilation channel 32 in the area of the assigned valve assembly location 13 also takes place via an aligned pair of mouths, which is not shown in the drawing in detail .
- one or more sealing devices 69 are provided between the mutually assigned pairs of orifices in the area of the valve assembly locations 13, which ensure a leak-free flow.
- the valve housing 17 of the multi-way valves 12 have a cuboidal outer contour. They are arranged on the fluid distribution device 5 that the above mentioned first lateral housing surface 44 is approximately flush with a longitudinal outer surface 73 of the distributor housing 7.
- the valve drives 16 are flanged to the second lateral housing surface 74 of a respective valve housing 17 opposite the first lateral housing surface 44, the control member 22 being oriented such that its actuating direction is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 45 of the valve member 36.
- the normal vectors of the two lateral outer surfaces 44, 74 are therefore oriented at right angles to the row direction 14 in the width direction 54.
- a manual actuation device 75 can be provided there particularly well, with which the valve member 36 can be actuated manually if required.
- the manual actuation device 75 provided according to the example has an actuation part 76 protruding from the end of the housing, which is movably suspended on an elastic membrane 77 in the interior of the housing according to double arrow 37. It lies coaxially opposite the facing end face of the valve member 36 and is a plastic or rubber part, in particular one piece with the membrane 77. If you press the finger on the actuating part 76, it shifts in the direction 37 of the switching movement, acts on the valve member 36 and leads it into the second switching position.
- the two distributor devices 5, 6 could be provided with separate housings which are expediently firmly connected to one another.
- the common housing design has manufacturing advantages.
- the exemplary distribution device 4 has a modular structure. There are a number of distributor modules 78, each of which has one or more valve assembly locations 13 and valve drive assembly places 24 have.
- the distributor modules 78 are expediently firmly connected to one another in the longitudinal direction 15, for example by screwing. In this way, distribution devices 4 of any length can be realized and modified in a modular manner.

Description
- Fig. 1
