It is between these two flanges 1 that the different vertical rows of modules 2 are mounted, enclosing the members (lifting beam, electromagnet, hauling, etc.) associated with the reciprocating hooks (shown diagrammatically in 2 a in fig. 2) controlled by horizontal knives 3 to actuate the harness arches of the mechanics considered. Between the adjacent rows of modules 2 are mounted horizontal shafts 4 oriented perpendicular to the abovementioned flanges 1.
- each shaft 4 the top of each of the flanges 1 is provided with a console 5 forming a support for two bearings 6 ensuring the mounting of the ends of a horizontal drum 7 for driving a vertical belt 8; the pair of belts 8 associated with the same shaft 4 supports by one of the strands two knives 3 arranged at heights suitable for acting on the two hooks of all the modules 2 of the same row.
- tubular hub of one of the drums 7 (the one on the left in fig. 2) is directly engaged the corresponding end of the shaft 4 envisaged, the angular connection between the shaft and the drum being ensured by a flange of pinching 9.
- the opposite end of the shaft 2 is engaged and pinched in the corresponding end of the other drum 7, the opposite end of the latter receiving the shaft 10 of an electric motor 11 fixed laterally against the console 5; the angular connection between the shaft 10 and the corresponding drum 7 is here also effected by means of a clamping flange 9.
- the motors 11 are of the synchronous self-piloting type ("brushless") and each of them incorporates an automatic brake 18 and an angular encoder 14.

- An electronic variator 12 is provided on the electrical supply conductors of each motor 11 which ensures the cyclic reversal of the direction of rotation of the shaft 10.
- This variator 12 is placed under the control of an autonomous electronic comparator 13 which receives the signals coming from the angular encoder 14 integrated into the motor 11 envisaged, in order to compare them with those coming from an encoder 15 associated with the drive shaft of the weaving machine MT in order to permanently detect the angular position of said shaft .
- the signals are processed on the one hand by a common electronic cam 16 for the transformation of the signals of continuous rotation into signals of alternative rotation, on the other hand by a independent amplifier 17 able to assign to the motor 11 which corresponds to it the coefficient amplification of the length of the alternative movement of movement of the two belts 8 as a function of the position of the shaft 4 along the mechanics (obtaining an oblique crowd).
- each shaft 4 overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above. It will also be noted that the modification of the obliquity of the crowd is effected by means of a simple intervention at the level of the amplifiers 17, while in conventional Jacquard mechanics with central drive derived from the motor of the weaving machine, this same modification constitutes a very complex operation, involving the change of a series of mechanical components and delicate adjustments.
