- the technique for adjusting the range of the oscillating movement of the stapling device consisting of bringing the stapling elements closer or further away from the bearing plane, is to a much simpler and faster implementation than the manual interventions which until then had been necessary to practice directly in the actuation mechanism of the stapling device.
- this adjustment can also be done during the operation of the stapling machine, since the guide sleeve can slide along the connecting rod without hampering its oscillating movement.
- the adjustment mechanism according to the invention therefore guarantees optimal flexibility of adaptation in a production line for packaging cartons, without however affecting the flow rate or the production rate of the latter.

- the connecting rod 14 is applied only against the four corners of this cavity 39 by four longitudinal bearing surfaces 40 forming a single piece with a central core 41 in the form of H.

However, it will be good to cut or hollow out the remaining part of the connecting rod 14 to reduce the inertia.
- a wedge-shaped take-up key 43 is retained, on the correspondingly shaped inner face of the cover 36 of the guide sleeve 22, by a screw-nut assembly 44 joining two external extensions 45, 46 of these two parts. It is in fact this key 43 which defines, with the shell 35, the sliding cavity 39 of the guide sleeve.
