Definitions
- the present invention relates to a packaging of products of the type comprising a series of primary packaging for the products, gathered in an overpack. It applies in particular to the packaging of flat food products such as chewing gum tablets, cheese wafers, cookies or chocolate bars, or even chip cards, but it can also be applied to packaging doses of liquid products, pre-moistened towels and, more generally, various products intended to be used individually or in separate doses.
- the overpack is often formed by an envelope made from a rolled or folded sheet, for example made of paper or a complex made, for example, from the combination of a plastic film, paper and aluminum (or a combination of two of them); this sheet then surrounds and envelops a stack of said products to form a parallelepiped held by gluing a longitudi ⁇ nal edge of the sheet on the opposite longitudinal edge; the ends of the parallelepiped are kept in the folded position, for example by heat sealing, to form one the bottom, the other the cover of the envelope.
- Such packaging is very economical for everyday consumer products and very advantageous since it makes it possible to keep them grouped in the envelope and available at all times for distribution and consumption.
- the overpack collapses on itself and loses its aesthetic appeal; - the waste to be discarded with each consumption of a product, consisting of a complete primary packaging, is significant; it is necessary to make the entire surface of the primary packaging visually attractive;
- the object of the invention is to eliminate all these drawbacks.
- each primary packaging comprises a region integral with the overpack, and, outside this region, a pre-rupture zone which delimits a disposable part of the packaging primary age.
- each individual product is prepackaged in a primary packaging, all the primary packaging are stacked and fixed to the overpack by a first end, and the other end of the overpack, close to the pre-break zones, is openable, so that after opening of the overpack, each individual product can be seized at the same time as the second end of their primary packaging;
- the primary packaging is fixed by gluing the extreme primary packaging to the overpack by an end edge and by a part of their lateral surface, in particular adjacent to this end edge, and by bonding the other primary packages to the overpack only by an end edge.
- the bonding is carried out using an adhesive of the heat-activated type
- the bonding is carried out using an adhesive of the cold glue type activatable by pressure
- the distance separating the pre-rupture line from the end. free of the disposable part of the primary packaging is less than the width of the products; - the individual products are chewing gum tablets;
- the overwrap is a rigid box with an opening lid comprising a honeycomb bottom, the primary packaging being rigid sealed tubes, one end of which is fixed in each respective honeycomb - is lying.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a package according to the invention, the envelope of which is closed;
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view, broken away, of this full package and with its open envelope;
- FIG. 3 illustrates a product extracted from
- - Figure 4 is a longitudinal sectional view of the packaging after removal of part of the products
- - Figure 5 is a partial view on an enlarged scale, in longitudinal section near the bottom of the envelope of the package;
- FIG. 13 shows schematically, in vertical section, another embodiment of the packaging according to the invention.
- the packaging shown in Figures 1 to 5 comprises an overpack 1 consisting of a flexible envelope which contains elongated flat products 2 prepackaged and stacked.
- the products 2 can for example be prepackaged food products, such as chewing gum tablets, cheese wafers, cookies or chocolate bars, or other prepackaged products such as smart cards.
- the flexible envelope 1 comprises a body 3 of generally parallelepipedal shape closed at its two ends, one constituting the bottom 4, the other constituting the cover 5, by folding and gluing the ends of the body 3 on themselves .
- the body 3 also has a tear strip 6 on its periphery, at a small distance dl from the cover 5.
- Each product 2, of rectangular shape, is prepackaged in a primary packaging 7 which has on its two upper and lower faces a pre-breaking line 8 parallel to its short sides and located at a distance d2 from the cover 5 greater than dl.
- line 8 is double and consists of two rows of notches offset from one another by a half step.
- the envelope 1 is opened by tearing the strip 6 along the periphery of the body 3 and complete and final removal of the cover 5 and of an adjoining portion of the body 3. This operation releases an extremi ⁇ ty of primary packaging 7 contained by the envelope, as shown in Figure 2.
- each primary packaging 7 adjacent to the bottom 4 is fixed to the inner face of the latter by a layer of adhesive.
- the two extreme primary packaging that is to say in the flat position thereof which is shown, the upper primary packaging and the lower primary packaging, are glued, respectively by their upper face and by their lower face, to the inner face of the overwrap 1 by their region 10 near the bottom 4, by means of a layer of the same adhesive as above.
- this region 10 may extend more or less far towards the cover 5, without however cross the pre-rupture line 8.
- the user grasps the primary packaging 7 above by its exposed end, by pinching at the same time the tablet which it contains, and pull the assembly in the direction of arrow F in Figure 2.
- the distance d2 is less than the width 1 of the products, it is even possible to place part 7A of the primary packaging in the other part 7B, which remains integral with the envelope 1, as indicated in 7C on Figure 4, which removes any partial waste.
- This variant is however more appropriate when the distance d2 is less than or equal to the distance dl, because it is then more convenient to return Part 7A to Part 7B.
- the casing 1 retains its properties for meeting and protecting the products and, moreover, practically retains its external shape.
- the consumption of each tablet is easy, without the need to undo the primary envelope, and hygienically, and leads to minimal disposable waste, or even zero as explained above.
- FIG. 6 to 9 a method of manufacturing the packaging 1.
- the tear strip 6 is fixed near from the edge 13 opposite the zone 12, then sheets 14 are cut, on the inner face of each of which there is deposited, partially on the glued zone, a stack of products 2 prepackaged at 7, as shown in FIG. 7.
- the strip 11 also carries on its outer face pre-glued areas (not shown) used to close the packaging in a conventional manner. For these zones as for zone 12, for example, a strong heat-activated adhesive is used.
- the strip 11 can be made of paper or a complex material, for example consisting of a plastic film, a sheet of printed paper and an aluminum sheet, superimposed and glued together.
- the width of the strip 11 is greater than the length of the products to be packaged.
- the activation of the strong thermoreactivable adhesive simultaneously causes the sealing of the two ends of the envelope and the adhesion of the ends 9 of the packages 7 and of the zones 10 of the two extreme primary packages to the bottom 4 and to the two adjacent zones of the envelope 1.
- the zones 10 are short, the heat thus dissipated is sufficient. Otherwise, it may be necessary to additionally use a heating ring (not shown) surrounding the zones 10.
- pre-rupture lines 8 must not affect the good conservation of the products 2.
- these lines can consist either of notches passing through the primary packaging, or of simple weakening lines not through.
- a stacking is carried out side by side with long products 2 prepackaged at 7, for example cylindrical prepackaged cookies, the primary packages of which carry a pre-break line 8.
- the primary packages are soaked in a container 15 containing glue in the liquid state, as indicated in Figure 10; it is for example here cold glue activatable by pressure; this operation has the effect of coating cold glue the lower end 9 and the adjacent lateral region 10 of each of the prepackaged products.
- This coating can of course also be obtained by any other means, in particular by external pre-gluing of the films intended for the unitary prepackaging of each of the products 2.
- an envelope body 3 of generally cylindrical shape is produced, shown in FIG.
- This envelope body can be made for example of cardboard or plastic.
- the stack of products 2 is made to penetrate into the envelope, as shown in Figure 11, starting with the coated ends 9, 10 of the products.
- the pre-coating of prepackaged products is compatible with the method of packaging of Figures 6 to 9, and that, conversely, the packaging of Figure 12 can be achieved by pre-gluing the inner face of the bottom 4.
- the glue used can be of a hot reactive type.
- the adhesion of the prepackaged products to the bottom of the envelope can be obtained by interposing a double-sided adhesive element.
- FIG. 13 illustrates another embodiment of the invention, in which the overpack 1 is constituted by a rigid box made of plastic material, with a cover 5 hinged at 18 on the body 3 of the box and with a honeycombed bottom 4.
- the overpack 1 is constituted by a rigid box made of plastic material, with a cover 5 hinged at 18 on the body 3 of the box and with a honeycombed bottom 4.
- each cell 19 is bonded or welded the lower end of a rigid sealed tube 7 made of plastic or glass containing a dose 2 of a liquid product such as a pharmaceutical product, or alternatively, a more or less solid product such as a pre-moistened paper towel.
- Each tube 7 has near its upper end a horizontal line 8 of pre-rupture.
