Abstract

The connector has a cutting edge brake in the form of a brake-wedge (6,7) rising towards a stop element (8) from the upper surface (20) of the top, horizontal transverse bar (2). The brake is positioned on each side of the central stop element extending crosswise to the lengthwise axis of the flat, elongated body (1). The highest point of the brake wedge forms an edge (21) running parallel to and apart from the central stop element. The space between the edge of the brake wedge and the stop element matches the thickness of the stop element. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a straight connector made of plastic for connecting hollow spacer profiles and hollow rung profiles of a multi-pane insulating glass, with a flat, elongated Body from which one end into one spacing profile A and the other end into the other Spacer profile B can be inserted and its surface with a central stop element is provided, which when inserting the straight connector into each other connecting spacer profiles A and B abuts the profile faces C and D, respectively the body has a double-T cross-section, its parallel parallel, horizontal Cross bars are connected by vertical bars and in the installed state of the straight connector, at least the opposite profile wall surfaces partially touch.

With the flush straight connector of this type. (DE-U-93/00240) has now been shown that when inserting the straight connector into the profile cavity the sharp edges of the end faces of the metal profiles, in particular with the surface of the upper crossbar, scrape material off the plastic surface and push this "cutting ridge" up to the central stop element in front of you. This has the disadvantageous consequence that the cutting ridge remains between the two end faces of the profile and the existing between the end faces, by the thickness of the stop element conditional gap significantly increased with the result that the risk of leakage from Desiccant enlarged from the spacer profile cavity into the space between the panes and further the length of the spacing profile becomes longer than that for the disc cutting fixed length and that with it also the angle of the spacer frame at its four corners are no longer correct and finally the appearance of the multi-pane insulating glass suffers because of the connection gap and the material chips in it are visible.

The object of the invention is therefore the straight connector of the type mentioned to further that the above disadvantages are eliminated and any scraped material the direct stop of the profile end faces on the stop element is not impeded.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by that on both sides of itself is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the body extending stop element each a cutting edge brake in Form of a from the surface of the upper horizontal cross bar brake wedge rising towards the stop element is arranged, the highest elevation of which is at a distance forms an edge running parallel to the central stop element, that the maximum height of the brake wedge is less than the height of the stop element, and that the surface of the crossbar in Area of both ends of the body with arched arches is provided, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the body from the surface and when inserting the straight connector into the hollow spacer profiles form overrun brakes, which are used to generate a tight fit between the straight connector and the spacer profiles tolerance compensation between these two Create elements.

This construction creates the cutting burr, i.e. that from the sharp edge of the profile face Plastic material superficially scraped from the straight connector, from the surface detached with the help of the edge in front of the stop element in order to emerge from the Gap falling out, so that the profile faces up to the stop with the stop element can advance. In particular those pre-raked in the area of the ends of the body of the straight connector arched arches lead to material scraping, a so-called cutting burr, which is removed by the cutting burr brake.

A straight connector is known from DE-U-93/16728, although also has so-called cutting-edge brakes, but they are different are arranged and serve another purpose in terms of that there are sometimes existing on the end faces of the metal profiles, metal parts caused by cutting the profiles between the connection surface and the surface of the profile cavity and thereby the profile in undesirable Deform way. This is due to the fact that metal remaining parts of the profile body, which when cutting, so Cut off, remain as a ridge on the end faces of the profiles, prevent the front sides from colliding flush, so that in the installed state of the straight connector between the An undesired gap remains on the front of the profile. To this To avoid disadvantage, be on the surface of the straight connection where the profile end faces should meet, cutting edge brakes in the form of from the surface towards the Rising inclines provided in the middle of the body opposite each other and a gap between them certain Leave width. This gap contains no stop element and only serves to accommodate the on the profile end faces metal burr material located, so to speak embedded in the plastic material of the straight connector becomes.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawing. The drawing shows:

Fig. 3
2 shows an end view of the straight connector from FIG. 1.

The straight connector illustrated by way of example in FIGS. 1 to 3 has a flat, elongated body 1, of which one end 4 is inserted into the one distance profile A, which is indicated schematically, and its other end 5 is inserted into the other distance profile B, which is also indicated schematically, around these to connect the two distance profiles.

The straight connector has a double-T cross-section with an upper horizontal Cross bar 2 and a lower horizontal cross bar 3, which is shown in the Differentiate embodiment with respect to their width and by vertical webs 11, 13, 14 are connected to one another, which form a common central web that consists of Material saving reasons, but also for reasons of better passage of the drying agent powder provided with openings 12 of different sizes and thereby in the mentioned individual webs is divided.

On the surface 20 of the upper crosspiece 2 is approximately in the middle of the length of the straight connector a rib-shaped stop element 8 is arranged, which is transverse to the longitudinal direction of the body extends and when inserting the straight connector into each other connecting spacer profiles against the end faces C or D, so that the maximum Insertion length is determined by this stop element.

On both sides of this central stop element 8 there is a cutting edge brake in each Form of a rising from the surface 20 in the direction of the stop element Brake wedge 6 or 7, the highest elevation one with a distance parallel to the center Stop element 8 forms extending edge 21. The distance between this edge of the Brake wedge and the stop element 8 can be selected and corresponds to the in the present case Thickness of the stop element. In any case, it is chosen so that the cutting burr, which is thereby forms that the sharp edges of the profile faces C and D superficially from Straight connector body when pushing it into the spacing profiles A and B Scrape plastic material, this cutting burr from the surface using the edge 21 in front of the stop element 8 so that it comes out of between the stop element and the brake wedge 6, 7 existing gap falls out, whereby the profile faces to Can advance stop with the stop element and the risk is eliminated that Desiccant emerges from the cavity of the spacing profiles and into the space between the panes reached.

The maximum height of the brake wedges 6, 7, which is measured at their edges 21, is smaller than the height of the stop element 8, so that the latter actually as a stop element can work. The length of the brake wedges 6, 7, measured transversely to the longitudinal axis of the body 1, is equal to the length of the stop element 8 in the present case, but should be expedient correspond to the width of the cross bar, so that the cutting burr, if it is should extend over the entire width of this crossbar, is also detached.

The underside of the lower crosspiece 3 is spaced from one another by a large number arranged transverse ribs 17, which are similar to the parallel side edges 18, 19th this crossbar ribs 22 serve to provide friction between the surface the straight connector and the surrounding wall of the spacer profiles A and B to reinforce.

In addition, the surface 20 of the crossbar 2 in the region of the two ends 4, 5 of the Body 1 provided with arcuate bulges 9, 10 which extend in the longitudinal direction of the Lift the body 1 out of the surface 20 and when inserting the straight connector into the hollow spacing profiles A and B form overrun brakes, which are used to generate a tight fit between the straight connector and the spacer profiles a tolerance compensation create between these two elements. The height of these bulges 9, 10, too a dotted straight line is shown below the bulges in FIG. 2 is smaller than the height of the stop element 8. Measured in the transverse direction to the longitudinal axis of the body 1, the curvatures 9, 10 have a width that is approximately corresponds to the width of the crosspiece 2. The length of the bulges 9, 10 is in the illustrated Embodiment greater than the length of the brake wedges 6, 7.

Der Verjüngungswinkel beträgt 10°.In the exemplary embodiment shown, the brake wedges 6, 7 have a maximum height of 0.3 mm, while the height of the stop element is 0.55 mm. The wedge angle of the Brake wedges are 4 °. The 4 and 5 designated both ends of the straight connector taper as shown at 15 and 16 to insert the straight connector in the front openings of the spacer profiles A and B. The taper angle is 10 °.

Both the ribs 17 on the underside of the crosspiece 3 and the ribs 22 on the Side edges 18, 19 of this crossbar have a triangular cross section, the The tip of the triangle forms an angle of 90 ° and the triangle height is 0.2 mm. This relatively small ribbing is sufficient to achieve the desired friction effect with the surrounding one Generate wall of the spacing profiles.

The curvatures 9 and 10, also called arches, have a comparatively small height and never exceed the height of the stop element 8. They promote both alignment as well as the tight fit of the built-in straight connector and thus serve to increase the strength of the connection of the two spacing profiles A and B.
