Definitions

  • the invention relates to a packaging material made of flexible material in the form of a sack or bag, with a filling space which is closed after it has been filled and which is bounded by a front wall, a rear wall, a bottom closure and a head end closure of the packaging means, and with a pair of bow-shaped carrying handles for the individual transport of the filled Packaging, of which one carrying handle is assigned to the front wall and the other to the rear wall, and both from a non-use position corresponding to the contour of the packaging, in which they are each fixed on the front or rear wall side by an easily detachable connection, after their release into a the packaging position of outstanding use for individual transport can be opened by one transverse folding line each.
  • a packaging of this type is already known (US Pat. No. 4,148,431), in which the design and arrangement of the handles take into account the fact that such packaging, such as one or Multi-layer sacks or bags are delivered by the manufacturer with an open head end and the packaging material is filled in the bottling plant from this open end by automatic filling machines, whereupon in addition to the base closure in the bottling plant of the bottling plant that already exists when the goods are delivered Head end closure is formed.
  • These head end closures are manufactured in the bottling plants with the means available there and usually consist of a fold or wrap closure, but can also be formed, depending on the material used for the packaging means, by welding the head end of the packaging means.
  • the bow-shaped carrying handles attached by the manufacturer to the head end of the packaging have a disruptive effect when filling the packaging with the aid of automatic filling devices and when the head end of the filled packaging is subsequently closed, in particular by means of a single or double glued envelope to form a fold or wrap closure.
  • the handles are assigned to the bottom closure of the packaging by the manufacturer, so that the head end can be filled and then closed without disturbing handles in the filling operation.
  • this head end closure can in turn only be formed with the means of the bottling company by forming envelopes or welding, ie there is no stand for the filled packaging, as can be provided by the packaging manufacturer in the manner of a cross, block or the like.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a packaging of the type mentioned, in which the handles in their non-use position, the handling of the packaging, in particular its filling and closing in the filling operation, do not hinder and up to Use by the consumer are kept securely in the non-use position and at the same time provision can be made for the consumer to be able to set down the packaging in a stable manner.
  • the envelope thus formed is usually applied using an adhesive fixed to the back wall of the packaging and ensures a secure closure of the head end.
  • the arrangement of the carrying handles adjacent to the head end closure in turn creates the possibility of designing the bottom closure by the packaging manufacturer as desired, depending on the requirements, and in particular as a stand, for example by means of a cross base, in the case of a flat tube forming the packaging, or by means of a block. or block bottom, in the case of a packaging material formed by a gusseted tube. With the appropriate design of the bottom closure, this creates the possibility for the consumer to set down the filled packaging in a stable manner.
  • the use of the handles for the individual transport of the filled packaging material is on the other hand not hindered by the envelope serving as a head end closure, since the transverse fold line of the rear-side handle extends below the envelope parallel to its adjacent edge.
  • the carrying handle on the rear wall can therefore be opened without difficulty using the envelope in the use position.
  • the front and rear walls can each comprise at least two material layers, at least in their area forming the carrying handles, of which the outer layer forms the carrying handle by means of a bow-shaped material punching and the inner layer, which is kept free of the material punching, closes the filling space holds so that after opening the handles in their use position no opening corresponding to the handles. This protects the contents contained in the packaging during the individual transport of the packaging by the consumer.
  • the handles can be fixed in the handle area by easily detachable adhesive connections between the inner and the outer layer of the front and rear wall.
  • the handles can be fixed in place by small material connecting webs of the outer layer of the front and rear wall in the handle-forming material punching, which is correspondingly formed by punch cuts with short interruptions.
  • the small material connecting bars can be easily loosened or broken open in order to fold up the handles into the use position.
  • the packaging is only with its upper end area, i.e. the head end 1, including a head end closure 2 formed by an envelope, which was formed in the filling operation after the filling of the packaging material from the initially open head end 1.
  • the lower end region of the packaging material can have any suitable bottom closure with which the packaging material supplied as empty packaging is equipped by the manufacturer and which is in particular a cross, block or similar shaped base which can serve as a standing base.
  • Suitable materials for the production of the packaging material are in particular paper, plastic films, laminates and the like. Flexible, foldable materials which can be processed by the methods customary in bag and sack manufacturing.
  • a front wall 3 and a rear wall 4 delimit a filling space filled with, for example, granular filling material in the filling operation.
  • Two bow-shaped carrying handles 5 and 6 are provided for the individual transport of the filled packaging, of which the carrying handle 5 is assigned to the front wall 3 and the carrying handle 6 to the rear wall 4.
  • the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 are each formed in two layers, as can be seen from FIG. 5.
  • the front wall 3 accordingly comprises two layers of material 7 and 8, while the rear wall 4 comprises the layers of material 9 and 10.
  • the respective reinforcement sheet 11, 12 is also glued to the inner surface of the material layer 8 of the front wall 3 or the material layer 10 of the rear wall 4.
  • Both handles 5, 6 are formed adjacent to the head end closure 2 each by a bow-shaped material punching according to the cutting lines 13, 29 and 14, 14a, which also includes the reinforcing sheet 11 and 12, but not the inner material layer 8 of the front wall 3 or inner material layer 10 of the rear wall 4.
  • the carrying handle 5 of the front wall 3 produced by the material punching 13, 29 has the contour, which can be seen particularly in FIGS. 1 and 3, with a pair of legs 15 and a bracket part 16 connecting them.
  • the base point of the legs 15 is marked by a cross-fold line 17 drawn in dash-dotted lines the handle 5, which is integrally connected to the front wall 3, can be folded up from the non-use position shown in FIG. 1 into the use position shown in FIG. 3.
  • the carrying handle 6 produced by the material punching 14, 14a in the rear wall 4 has the particular 2 and 4 shows a contour with a pair of legs 18 and a bracket part 19 connecting them.
  • the base points of the legs 18 are in turn marked by a dash-dotted cross fold line, here designated 20, around which the carrying handle 6, which is integrally connected to the rear wall 4 the non-use position shown in Figure 2 can be folded up into the use position according to Figure 4.
  • the transverse fold line 20 at the base points of the legs 18 lies below the head end closure 2 formed by an envelope and runs parallel to its adjacent edge 21.
  • the envelope forming the head end closure 2 can be seen in particular from FIG. 5, in which, however, for the sake of clarity, the individual layers of material are drawn apart with correspondingly exaggerated transverse distances. Accordingly, the head end closure 2 is formed by folding an end region of the packaging walls 3, 4 together from the front wall 3 onto the rear wall 4.
  • FIG. 5 illustrates a double envelope along transverse fold lines 22 and 23. Usually the envelope is glued to the outside of the rear wall 4 in a manner not shown in detail. In a departure from the illustration in FIG. 5, the head end closure can also be formed by a folded envelope.
  • the two handles 5 and 6 are arranged with their outer surfaces flush with the outer surfaces of the front wall 3 and the rear wall 4 and in this position, for example by an easily detachable adhesive or the like, not shown.
  • Adhesive connection fixed.
  • Such an adhesive bond can be done, for example, by one or more punctiform adhesive applications, which are arranged on the inner material layer 8, 10 of the front wall 3 or the rear wall 4 within the contour of the carrying handle 5 or 6.
  • the handles 5 and 6 can be folded up by the consumer into the use position according to FIGS. 3 to 5.
  • the handle 6 to be folded up along the transverse folding line 20 over the envelope 2 has such a length of its legs 18 that in the erected position it projects beyond the head end closure to such an extent that it can be easily grasped by the consumer.
  • the transverse fold line 17 of the handle 5 is arranged in a plane above the transverse fold line 20 of the handle 6 in the front wall 3 at a distance which corresponds to the difference in the leg length of the two handles 5, 6.
  • Both handles 5, 6 have in this arrangement, due to their different leg length, a different height of their bracket parts 16, 19, measured from the transverse fold line 17 or 20, but both handles 5, 6 in their position of use have an at least substantially flush outer contour with them aligned support openings 24 and 25.
  • One of the two carrying handles 5, 6, in the illustrated example the carrying handle 5, is provided with an integrally formed push-through tab 26 which is delimited from the main part of the carrying handle 5, ie its bracket part 16, along a cross-fold line 27 shown in dash-dotted lines in FIG.
  • an arcuate stamping cut 28 which in turn ends in the arcuate handle forming Die cut 29, which in turn ends at the inner point of the respective transverse fold line 17 of the handle legs 15.
  • This punch-cut guide results in a C-shaped basic shape of the push-through tab 26 that is movable about the transverse folding line 27 with respect to the bracket part 19.
  • the push-through flap 26 is folded over the transverse fold line 27 to the handle 6 and inserted through the handle opening 25 thereof.
  • the carrying handle 5 then has the handle opening 24 aligned with the handle opening 25 of the carrying handle 6.
  • the push-through tab 26 engages under the bracket part 19 of the carrying handle 6 and covers its lower cutting edge, so that the packaging material can be conveniently filled by the user without Cut into the hand, can be worn.
  • the intact inner layers 8, 10 of front wall 3 and rear wall 4 protect the contents contained in the packaging.
  • the carrying handles 5, 6 are also locked to one another in that the punch cuts 28 of the push-through lug 26 form locking slots which, when the push-through lug 26 is pushed through, with the inner edges of the Leg 18 of the handle 6 in the transition area to the lower edge of the bracket part 19 come into locking engagement.
  • the transverse folding line 27 thus corresponds in length to the transverse dimension between the legs 18 in the locking area.
