Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an arrangement of petrol injection engine with injectors ventilated usually called mantle injectors of air.
  • an engine arrangement with gasoline injection of the type comprising a set fuel injectors associated with combustion of engine cylinders, a rigid case connected to the fuel supply parts of injectors, delimiting a fuel distribution channel in the set of injectors, and a circuit ventilation of the injector noses comprising a air distribution to all the noses, provided orifices opening in the vicinity of these noses, and means for connecting this air distribution channel to the rest of the ventilation circuit.
  • the air ventilated at the level of the nose of the injectors improves the spraying of gasoline by increase in relative speed between air and gasoline.
  • the gasoline engine is supplied with air by means of a circuit comprising a air filter connected by an intermediate connection member to an air butterfly housing itself connected to a engine gas intake manifold.
  • the canal air distribution of the ventilation circuit of the noses of injectors is connected to the air filter by a pipe flexible connected to the intermediate connection member.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy these problems and minimize the length of the flexible pipe in order to reduce the pressure losses of the circulating air in this conduct.
  • the subject of the invention is an arrangement of a petrol injection engine, of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the supply parts and the noses of the injectors respectively form opposite ends of the injectors, the distribution channel air being separated from the housing, and in that the means for connecting the air distribution channel to the rest of the ventilation circuit comprise an air supply duct integrated into the housing.
  • FIG. 1 a front part 10 of a motor vehicle, provided with an access cover 12, in which a motor 14 is arranged transversely gasoline injection.
  • This front part 10 includes a engine arrangement according to the invention, designated by the general reference 16.
  • the motor 14 comprises a cylinder block not shown in the figures, in which are arranged four aligned cylinders, and one cylinder head 26, shown in FIG. 3, attached to the cylinder block along a joint plane 28.
  • Each cylinder has a combustion chamber 30 closed at its upper part by the cylinder head 26.
  • This chamber 30 is connected in a manner known per se, of a leaves to an intake duct 32 itself connected to a manifold 34 of manifold 24, and secondly to a exhaust duct 36, the intake ducts and being formed in the cylinder head 26.
  • each intake duct 32 opening into the combustion chamber 30 has an orifice closed by a valve 38 shown in phantom in Figure 3.
  • the motor 14 comprises a row of four injectors 42. These are carried for example by the intake manifold 24 by tight fitting of their nose 44 into sockets 46 material coming with the collector.
  • the noses 44 of injectors are arranged in the intake pipes 34 according to a provision known per se which will not described in more detail.
  • the fuel supply ends 48 of the injectors are connected to a supply circuit in petrol by a rigid case 50, made of plastic, which will be described in more detail later.
  • the arrangement 16 also includes a circuit for ventilation of the noses 44 of the injectors comprising a channel air distribution 52, of known type, provided by example in manifold 24 as shown in more detail in Figure 6, provided with holes 54 opening out in the vicinity of the noses 44 of the injectors.
  • a circuit for ventilation of the noses 44 of the injectors comprising a channel air distribution 52, of known type, provided by example in manifold 24 as shown in more detail in Figure 6, provided with holes 54 opening out in the vicinity of the noses 44 of the injectors.
  • This channel 52 is supplied with air from the filter 18 via the connection member intermediate 20, a flexible pipe 56 and the housing 50 connected in series (see Figure 1).
  • the box 50 has a generally rectilinear shape parallel to the alignment direction of the injectors 42 and comprises a longitudinal partition 57 delimiting two compartments one forming a fuel distribution channel 58 in the injectors and the other a conduit 60 for supplying air from air distribution channel 52.
  • the fuel distribution channel 58 has a shape general in chicane, known per se, so that ports 59A, 59B for fuel inlet and delivery gas not consumed by the injectors are disposed at the same end of the housing 50.
  • ports 59A, 59B for fuel inlet and delivery gas not consumed by the injectors are disposed at the same end of the housing 50.
  • the distribution channel petrol 58 includes orifices 64 for supplying injectors 42 extended by nozzles 66 coming from material with the housing 50 in which are fitted sealingly the supply ends of the injectors.
  • the air supply duct 60 extends along the length of the housing 50 and has a first end connected to the flexible pipe 56, disposed at the end of the housing opposite the means 62, and a second end connected to the distribution channel air, arranged substantially in the middle of the housing 50.
  • Air supply duct 60 is connected to the flexible pipe 56 by a bent end piece 68 coming from material with the housing 50 (see Figure 2) and the channel air distribution 52 by a bent duct forming a fitting rigid 70 whose ends are fitted so sealed respectively in an orifice 72 machined in the manifold 24, communicating with the distribution channel 52, and in a nozzle 74 connected to the supply duct in air 60, integral with the housing 50 (see figure 4).
  • connection orifice 72 opens out substantially in the middle of the length of the distribution channel air 52 to allow good air distribution in this channel and in the ventilation holes 54.
  • Figures 4 to 6 show the directions of gasoline and air circulation by arrows without reference.
  • the housing 50 is mounted on the injectors 42, after assembly of the latter in the sockets 46, by fitting the ends 66 on the ends supply 48 of the injectors.
  • the orifice 72 connection of the air distribution channel 52 is provided known means 76 for positioning the connector 70 (see Figure 4), imposing a predetermined orientation of this fitting such that the end piece 74 fits automatically on the fitting 70 when mounting the housing 50 on the injectors 42.
  • FIG. 7 a variant of realization of the connection connecting the supply duct in air 60 to the air distribution channel 52, the fitting being designated in this case by the reference 70A.
  • the 70A fitting came integrally with the housing 50 and its free end is fitted with tightly sealed in an orifice 72A, machined in the manifold 24, communicating with the air distribution channel 52.
  • This variant embodiment of the connector allows to simplify the means of connection between the conduit air supply 60 and the air distribution channel 52 by removing the sealing means between the housing and the connector as well as the positioning means of this fitting. This variant also allows a gain of time during assembly of the housing 50.
  • the housing 50 comprises conventional means of attachment to an upper part of the engine 14, by example a cylinder head cover, comprising transverse lugs 78 materials coming from the case, fitted with fixing screw passage holes 80 (not shown).
  • the invention has many advantages.
  • the engine arrangement according to the invention allows to create a ventilation circuit for the injector noses compact and aesthetic thanks to the integration of the air supply line in the rigid housing.
  • the flexible pipe connecting the intermediate connection member, disposed between the air filter and the housing air butterfly, at one end of the rigid casing covering the injectors is shorter than in the arrangements in which the flexible pipe extends usually up to the middle of the distribution channel air, which reduces pressure losses in this conduct.
  • the housing in which circulates ventilation air from injector noses and gasoline supply of these injectors is very easy to ascend.
