Description

The invention relates to a glass facade for buildings, with a scaffold attached to the outside of the building, on which glass panes are held between inner, post and transom supporting profiles and associated, external holding profiles, with at least one window with an inward opening window sash in the glass facade is provided, which has a casement and a window pane attached to it, which abuts directly on a stop seal attached to the holding profile from the inside and is glued to its inner edge with a circumferential adapter frame and bears against a contact surface of the casement.

In the case of glass facades, efforts are made to make the vertical and horizontal holding profiles visible from the outside as narrow as possible, preferably with a width of 60 mm. These holding profiles cover the edges of adjacent glass panes and serve on the one hand to hold the glass panes in a form-fitting manner; on the other hand, the holding profiles cover the joints between adjacent glass panes and the support profiles behind these joints, designed as posts and transoms, which form the supporting structure of the glass facade.

Although the glass panes are predominantly permanently installed in such glass facades, it is often necessary to provide a window that can be opened in the glass facade, for example in order to provide ventilation.

Windows with scissor fittings and opening outwards can be provided for ventilation purposes; however, since these windows can only be set up parallel to the outside to a relatively small extent, they cannot be provided as an emergency exit. This is one of the reasons to provide inward opening window sashes on a glass facade, which are preferably designed as tilt and turn sashes.

In these known windows on glass facades, the window pane is inserted into the casement of the casement in a conventional manner, i.e. the casement and the frame required for fitting the fittings encompass the edge of the window pane. The casement and the window frame are therefore visible on the outside of the window pane and protrude inwards over the holding profile. As a result, the holding profiles surrounding the window surface are widened by the casement and window frame and thus represent an undesirable interruption in the width and height of the uniform external appearance of the glass facade.

In a known glass facade of the type mentioned at the beginning (EP-AO 404 103), the adapter frame glued to the window pane is detachably attached to the casement frame; however, the adapter frame cannot be adjusted. Since the window pane is therefore not used to stiffen the casement, the casement must be made relatively wide, since it alone gives the rigidity of the window.

It is known (DE-A-2 630 312) to clamp a sash frame at the corners of a glass pane in a metal window in order to pull the glass pane to stiffen the window. Here, however, the bracing takes place directly between the glass pane and the casement. An adapter frame is not available. In addition, it is not an adjustment device.

The object of the invention is therefore to design a glass facade with a window of the type mentioned in such a way that the window pane serves to stiffen the casement.

This object is achieved in that the adapter frame its corners can be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal direction with respect to the casement by means of adjusting screws.

Since the connection between the window pane and the casement is made via an adapter frame glued to the window pane, there is no need to insert the edge of the window pane into the casement, so that no parts of the casement are visible on the outside of the window pane. The window pane, like the adjacent, fixed glass panes of the glass facade, is in contact with the holding profile from the inside, so that the outer appearance of the window pane has the same visual appearance as with the fixed glass panes.

The necessary adjustment between the casement frame and the window pane, which is carried out in the conventional construction by padding, is carried out in the window according to the invention by means of the adjusting screws which engage the adapter frame glued to the window pane. This is the only way to make an adjustment of the casement even when the window pane is not enclosed in a frame, so that the casement is stiffened by the window pane, as in the case of a blocked window.

The window sash can be opened inwards like a conventional window; it is preferably provided with a turn-tilt fitting. The space required for accommodating the casement lying exclusively on the inside of the window is obtained in part by making the supporting profiles forming the mullions and transoms narrower in the area of a window than in the other areas of the supporting structure of the glass facade.

A horizontal and a vertical adjusting screw are preferably arranged at each corner of the window sash. This allows any necessary adjustment of the casement to be made.

It has proven to be particularly advantageous to screw the adjusting screws into threaded bores of a profile web which is formed on the casement frame and which is arranged on the outer circumference of the adapter frame at a distance from the latter, the adjusting screws being on press the peripheral surface of the adapter frame. The adjustment screws are easily accessible when the window sash is open; However, no openings or adjustment screws are visible on the inside of the closed window sash.

The adapter frame is preferably held in its adjusted position by means of a plurality of fastening screws which are screwed into the adapter frame obliquely from the circumference of the casement. These screws, screwed in at an angle, press the adapter frame both against the contact surface of the casement lying in the plane of the glass facade and outwards against the adjusting screws. For this reason, the holes for the fastening screws are not drilled until the casement is adjusted. The fastening screws then used ensure that the adjusted orientation of the casement relative to the glass pane is fixed and maintained.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the stop seal of the holding profile is connected in one piece to an inner seal lying on the circumference of the adapter frame via a closed reveal surface.

This ensures that the space lying on the circumference of the window pane between the stop seal and the inner seal is completely sealed off from the inside of the glass facade. The space thus sealed off is relatively small, so that no convection can interfere with the insulation effect.

Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand weiterer Unteransprüche.Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of further dependent claims.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated below, which is shown in the drawing. It shows:
  • 1 is a partial section through a glass facade in the area of a window sash in the closed state,
  • Fig. 2 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 1 with the window partially open and
  • Fig. 3 shows a schematic, greatly reduced representation of the arrangement of the adjusting screws on the window sash.

The glass facade for a building, the parts of which are shown in the drawing, has a supporting frame attached to the outside of the building (not shown), which consists of supporting profiles 1 which form a grid of posts and transoms. Fixed glass panes 2 are received with their edge between the support profile 1 and an external holding profile 3 with the interposition of seals 4, 5. The support profiles 1 are each connected to the holding profiles 3 via a web 6.

A window sash 7 has a window pane 8 which, like the fixed glass pane 2, is preferably designed as an insulating glass pane. The window pane 8 is glued on its inner edge to a circumferential adapter frame 9 made of rectangular hollow profiles.
The adapter frame 9 is located on an outward-facing, circumferential contact surface 10 of the sash frame 7, which is also made of hollow profiles. The terms “inside” and “outside” used in this context relate to the inside and outside of the glass facade.

A connected to the sash 7, on the periphery of the outside, i.e. to the window 8 projecting profile web 11 is arranged on the outer circumference of the adapter frame 9 at a distance from it and receives in horizontal bores 12 horizontal and vertical adjusting screws 13 which press on the peripheral surface 14 of the adapter frame 9. As can be seen from Fig. 3, two adjusting screws 13 are arranged at each corner of the window sash 7a, namely one horizontal and one vertical adjusting screw 13. By means of these adjusting screws 13, the sash 7 is adjusted relative to the window pane 8, so that the window pane 8 forms a stiffener for the sash 7.

If the adjustment between the casement 7 and the window pane 8 has been carried out in this way, oblique bores are made into the adapter frame 9 from the circumference of the casement 7 and provided with a thread. Fastening screws 16 are screwed obliquely into the adapter frame 9 into these threaded bores 15 in order to hold and fix the adapter frame 9 in its adjusted position relative to the casement frame 7.

In the closed position of the window, the window pane 8 lies against an abutment seal 17 which is made of an elastomer and which is received in an anchoring groove 18 on the inside of the holding profile 3. The stop seal 17 of the holding profile 3 is connected in one piece to an inner seal 20 which seals the circumference of the adapter frame 9 via a closed reveal surface 19 which forms a peripheral frame in the window opening. The inner seal 20 has a sealing strip 22 connected to the reveal surface 19 and anchored in an anchoring groove 21 of the supporting profile 1, as well as an adjoining sealing strip Adapter frame 9 anchored sealing lip 23. The sealing lip 23 is also provided with an anchoring foot 24, which is anchored in an anchoring groove 25 of the adapter profile 9.

The reveal surface 19 is anchored by means of an anchoring foot 26 in an anchoring groove 27 of the web 6, which connects the supporting profile 1 to the holding profile 3.

The two seals 17 and 20 seal a cavity 28 lying on the circumference of the window pane 8 both to the outside of the facade and to the inside. In order to remove moisture that has penetrated when the window is open, a drain line can be led out of the cavity 28 at the deepest point (not shown).

Compared to the inner seal 20, a further seal 29 is provided, which consists of an elastic sealing lip 30 anchored on the support profile 1 and a stop surface 31 formed on the casement 7.

A fourth seal 32 is provided between a flap 33 of the casement 7 and an inner surface 34 of the support profile 1.

The window sash 7a is preferably provided with a tilt and turn fitting (not shown), the axis of rotation and the tilt axis of which lie on the inside surface of the facade on the inside of the surface 34 of the support profile 1. 2, the window sash 7a is shown in a slightly open position. The seals 17, 20, 29 and 32 are open.

The support profile 1 shown in the drawing on the circumference of a window opening is made narrower than that remaining (not shown) support profiles that form the transom and post of the glass facade. There the edges of the two adjacent, fixed glass panes 2 rest against two seals 5 of the support profile, which are arranged on both sides of the web 6.
