Definitions
- the invention relates to a switch arrangement with the features of the preamble of patent claim 1.
- switches for controlling electrically operated functions of a vehicle.
- rocker switches and changeover switches that are commercially available are mostly used for vehicle applications.
- Such standard switches can be easily operated by applying force in a single direction.
- such a simple actuation method increases the risk of inadvertent actuation.
- switch assemblies have been constructed which require actuation by two movements.
- some agricultural tractors that have a three-point hitch include a toggle switch on the rear of the left fender. With such a switch, the toggle must be pulled out before it can be brought into its on position.
- Many such two-way switches require non-intuitive operation, which reduces their practicality. It is therefore desirable to provide a two-way switch that is easy and intuitive to use. It is also desirable that such a two-way switch can be combined with standard electrical switches.
- the object on which the invention is based is seen in specifying a further switch arrangement in which the probability of an unintentional switch actuation is reduced.
- the switch arrangement should be easy and intuitive to operate. Furthermore, it should be possible to use standard electrical switches when designing the switch arrangement.
- the switch arrangement contains a housing which has a base with an opening and two side walls arranged on opposite sides of the opening.
- An actuating part is arranged pivotably in the opening and has a body part which forms a pocket.
- the bag opens at one end and partially forms a cylindrical bottom surface.
- One arm protrudes from the fuselage section and is used to operate a standard electrical rocker switch.
- An operating lever contains a base body which is at least partially received by the pocket and from which a leg with an abutment protrudes.
- the base body has a slot which is aligned parallel to the pivot axis of the actuating part and the operating part. The slot is extended in a plane that is perpendicular to the pivot axis.
- a pivot pin can be slidably and rotatably received through the slot.
- the lever is displaceable with respect to the pivot pin from a projecting position, in which the lever base body is spaced from the bottom surface of the pocket, into a pressed-in position, in which the lever base body engages in the bottom surface of the pocket.
- Two springs push the lever into its protruding one Position.
- a stop part protrudes from the housing and lies in the path of movement of the lever abutment surface and prevents the lever from rotating in a first direction if the lever is in its protruding position.
- the switch arrangement 10 of FIG. 1 contains a housing or a box 12 with a base 14, which includes an essentially rectangular opening 14. Two side walls 16 and 18 protrude from opposite sides of the base 14. A bore 20 extends through both sides of the base 14. A platform 22 extends over the 3 (as viewed in FIG. 3) one end of the base 14 from one side wall 16 to the other side wall 18. The platform 22 has a substantially flat main central region 24 and an upwardly inclined inner edge 26. Another platform 30 extends over an upper side of the other end (as viewed in FIG. 3) of the base 14 from one side wall 16 to the other side wall 18. The platform 30 has a substantially flat outer portion 32 with a chamfered outer portion Edge and an upwardly inclined inner portion 34. The inner portion 34 is slightly curved with a center of curvature coincident with the axis of the bores 20.
- a sub-actuator 40 is pivotally mounted in the opening of the housing base 14 between the side walls 16 and 18.
- the sub-actuator 40 contains two spaced-apart side walls 44 and 46 which are connected to one another by a fuselage part 42.
- Two curved reinforcing ribs 47 and 49 are integrally formed on the inner sides in the region of the lower edges of the side walls 44 and 46.
- Sub-actuator 40 also includes a cylindrical hub 48. As best seen in FIG. 4, the ends of hub 48 are spaced from side walls 44 and 46.
- the hub 48 is fixedly connected to the reinforcing ribs 47 and 49 and to the side walls 44 and 46 via two hollow cylindrical parts 67 and 68 which protrude beyond the body part 42.
- the hub 48, the side walls 44 and 46 and the reinforcing ribs 47 and 49 form pockets 50 and 51 with curved bottom surfaces 52 and 53.
- a bore 56 extends through the side walls 44 and 46, the hub 48 and the pockets 50 and 51. Von The bores 56 and 20 receive a pin 58 through which the sub-actuator 40 is pivotally mounted in the housing 12.
- Two parallel spring pocket bores 60 and 62 extend downward and partially into an inclined inner surface of the fuselage part 42
- Blind bores 60 and 62 are between the side walls 44 and 46 and between the bore 56 and an upper edge of the surface 64 and the end wall 48.
- a nose 66 protrudes from the lower end of the curved end wall 48. The nose 66 can engage on the underside of the platform 30 when the sub-actuator 40 is pivoted, in order to limit the pivoting path of the sub-actuator part 40 in the counterclockwise direction (according to the view in FIG. 3).
- the hollow cylindrical portions 67 and 68 project substantially downward and slightly to the left (as viewed in FIG. 3). They are arranged side by side between the side walls 46 and 48 and protrude from the hub 48 and protrude beyond the curved body 42.
- the parts 67 and 68 receive spring-loaded pins 69 at their ends, which functionally engage a part of a rocker switch 72, as is sold, for example, by Eaton / Cutler-Hammer.
- the upper parts of the rocker switch 72 which contain the upper part of its housing, not shown, and the manually operated rocker element, not shown, are removed so that the spring-loaded pins 69, which extend into the interior of the rocker switch 72, with the pivotable metallic switching element 70 can engage.
- a lever 80 is arranged in the housing 12 and coupled to the sub-actuator 40.
- the lever 80 has two spaced apart side walls 81 and 82, which are connected to one another by an upper wall 83.
- the side walls 81 and 82 are arranged in the space between the ends of the hub 48 and the corresponding side walls 44 and 46 of the sub-actuator 40.
- the lower edges of the side walls 81 and 82 are curved evenly and to the curvature of the inner surface of the curved body part 42 of the sub-actuator 40 adapted.
- Slots 86 extend through the side walls 81 and 82.
- the slots 86 each have an elongated cross section with upper and lower cylindrical boundary surfaces which are connected to one another by vertically running flat side walls.
- the slots 86 receive the pin 58 in such a way that the lever 80 can be pivoted about the pin 58 and that the lever 80 can be moved with respect to the pin 58 in a direction parallel to the orientation of the slot 86.
- the upper wall 83 forms a lip 87 and a notch 88 which opens in the direction of the edge 26 of the housing 12.
- the lever 80 has a boom 90 which can be actuated by an operator.
- the cantilever 90 extends from the upper wall 83 between the housing side walls 16 and 18 to a curved upper surface 92 which is closely aligned with the upper edge of the housing side walls 16 and 18.
- Two spring bag holes 92 that open downward run upward into the leg 90.
- Two coil springs 94 are received by the bores 92 and are biased to push the lever 80 up (as viewed in FIG. 3) and away from the bottom surface 52, 53 of the pockets 50, 51.
- the central longitudinal axis A of the leg 90 is substantially parallel and spaced from the longitudinal orientation of the slots 86 and is located between the pin 58 and the inner portion 34 of the platform 30. It follows that a torque applied to the lever 80 due to a downward force tends to rotate the lever 80 clockwise against the inner portion 34 of the platform 30, i.e. opposite to the counterclockwise direction in which the rocker switch 72 can switch. This avoids that by a simple downward facing Force or a downward movement of the rocker switch 72 is switched.
- the sub-actuator 40 rotates together with the lever 80, and the lever 80 can be rotated together with the sub-actuator 40 counterclockwise to switch the rocker switch 72.
- the lever 80 and the sub-actuator 40 can be rotated counterclockwise until the nose 66 abuts the underside of the platform 30.
- the rocker switch 72 is oriented similarly to the switch assembly 10 as shown in FIG. 3, so that the initial downward movement of the lever 80 does not trigger the rocker switch 72 to be switched on and only one rotation of the lever 80 and the sub-actuator 40 switches the switch on Rocker switch 72 causes.
- rocker switch 72 To switch the rocker switch 72 from its switched-on position to its switched-off position, only a single manual actuation of the lever 80 is required.
- the rocker switch 72 can be switched off by only turning the lever 80 clockwise (according to the view in FIG. 3). The same movement leads the lever 80 back to its original position, in which the rocker switch 72 is prevented from being inadvertently switched on. This means that two manually triggered movements are required to switch on the rocker switch 72, while only one manual movement is sufficient to switch off the rocker switch 72.
