Definitions

  • the invention relates to a built-in siphon for a drain installation, in particular a washing machine built-in siphon, with a housing having an odor barrier, which has a side wall with a liquid inlet opening and in the bottom region of which a liquid outlet opening is provided, the odor block having a septum forms with the housing walls a drop channel leading from the inlet opening downwards to the floor area, an adjoining upwardly extending riser channel, a deflection channel adjoining the latter and leading via the inlet opening and finally an outflow channel opening downwards into the outlet opening and adjoining the deflection channel.
  • a siphon of this type which has proven itself in practice with its flat design, is known for example from AT-B - 343.555.
  • This siphon prevents a backflow of dirty water from other household appliances, such as e.g. Dishwashers or the like, or can penetrate from the drain system itself into the device connected to the siphon and just out of operation.
  • the special type of design of the channels provided in the interior of the siphon enables, in addition to a particularly flat - and therefore advantageously used in a recess in a wall under plaster - design a high flow rate of the liquids to be drained at the locations of the channels where dirt could accumulate, so that such dirt accumulations in the housing are largely avoided.
  • the suction effect of the draining liquid can result in fresh liquid flowing into the connected household appliance being immediately sucked off again via the siphon.
  • the invention aims to further develop the siphon described at the outset in such a way that fresh liquid supplied from a connected household appliance is prevented from being sucked off.
  • the siphon is provided with a ventilation valve known per se and that a covering hood is provided which surrounds the ventilation valve at a distance.
  • check valve for a siphon of a drain basin, such as a bathroom washbasin or a bathtub, is known per se from GB-A-1 220 982.
  • This check valve is arranged on the siphon arranged horizontally on the siphon and prevents the siphon from being sucked dry, so that the odor barrier remains upright even when the water drains away.
  • a water seal with a housing serving as an air inlet, which is provided on the upper deflection bend of an S-shaped drain pipe, is known from DE-C - 198 002.
  • the ventilation valve is preferably mounted on a pipe socket opening into the interior of the housing, the ventilation valve expediently having a pipe section with an O-ring seal and being inserted with this pipe section into the pipe socket and being fastened thereto by means of a union nut.
  • a preferred embodiment is characterized in that the pipe socket with an opening at least partially opens into a descending branch of the deflection channel and / or the adjoining outflow channel, which makes it possible, after removing the ventilation valve, in a simple manner with a cleaning device, such as e.g. with a cleaning spring to get into the outflow channel and remove dirt deposited there and in the outflow channel.
  • a cleaning device such as e.g. with a cleaning spring to get into the outflow channel and remove dirt deposited there and in the outflow channel.
  • the inlet opening is preferably adjoined by an approximately horizontal inlet connector projecting outward from the housing, and the pipe connector is arranged in part to support the housing and in part on the inlet connector.
  • the ventilation valve comes to rest near the front of the siphon, which is advantageous for any manipulation of the ventilation valve or for its installation and removal.
  • a cover hood surrounding the ventilation valve at a distance is advantageously attached to the housing, the cover hood expediently by means of a snap connection on Housing arranged and is cantilevered from this holding parts.
  • a simple design of the cover hood is characterized in that the cover hood is open to the front, ie to the side wall of the housing on which the inlet opening or the inlet connector attached to the inlet opening are arranged.
  • Cover and at least a part of the housing which supports the inlet opening or the protective cover covering the inlet connection adjoining the inlet opening are provided, the protective cover expediently having a free edge with which it can be pushed over the cover and at least partially over the housing.
  • side walls of the protective hood are advantageously provided with a plurality of grooves parallel to one another and to the front wall of the protective hood.
  • the grooves are advantageously interrupted by slot-like recesses penetrating the side walls, as a result of which a cutting tool can be attached in a simple manner.
  • a cover plate which has an opening for the passage of an inlet connection adjoining the inlet opening and which can be fixed by means of a nut which can be screwed onto the inlet connection, the mother also an annular spacer flange comes to rest on the cover plate and the cover plate has one or more air passage opening (s) lying behind the nut and surrounding the inlet connection opening and the spacer flange of the nut.
  • the front side wall of the housing with the inlet opening is advantageous, starting from the bottom area of the Housing rearward inclined to the rear wall of the housing narrowing the cross section of the housing.
  • FIG. 1 a vertical section through a siphon built into a wall
  • FIG. 2 a representation of a section taken along the line II-II of FIG. 1
  • FIG. 3 a show section taken along the line III-III of Fig. 2.
  • the embodiment shown in the drawing relates to a washing machine built-in siphon.
  • the siphon has a housing 1 made of plastic, in the interior of which an odor barrier is arranged.
  • the waste water from the washing machine enters the housing 1 through an inlet opening 2, which is located on the front side wall 3 of the housing 1 is provided.
  • An outlet opening 5 for the waste water is provided in the bottom region 4 of the housing 1.
  • Both the inlet opening 2 and the outlet opening 5 are joined by connecting pieces 6, 7, which are advantageously produced in one piece with the housing 1.
  • the inlet connector 6 is provided with an external thread 8 on which the sewage hose of the washing machine can be screwed on.
  • the housing 1 has a horizontally cut, approximately rectangular, flat cross-section, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 3, which results in only a small installation depth 9.
  • the odor barrier is formed by a partition 10 provided in the interior of the housing and the housing walls 11, 12, 13, the partition 10, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 2, originating from the outlet opening 5, enclosing the inlet opening 2 and with one free end 14 extends into the vicinity of the bottom 4 of the housing 1.
  • the partition 10 thus forms with the housing walls 3, 11, 12 and 13 a drop channel 15 leading from the inlet opening down to the bottom 4 of the housing 1, an adjoining upwardly extending riser channel 16, an adjoining the latter and via the inlet opening 2 , ie the part 17 of the dividing wall 10 which surrounds the inlet opening and ultimately a discharge channel 19 which opens downwards into the outlet opening 5 and adjoins the deflection channel 18.
  • the direction of flow of the waste water to be discharged is illustrated by the arrows P 1 to P 4 .
  • a ball 20 is inserted, which closes the inlet opening 2 in the event of a backflow.
  • the closed position of the ball 20 is indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 1.
  • the ball 20 is made of a material that has a specific weight slightly less than that of the waste water.
  • an opening 23 which can be closed with a closure cap 21 and a seal 22 and which is used for inserting the ball 20 and which further enables cleaning of the drop channel 15 or removal of foreign bodies which move the drop channel 15.
  • the housing 1 has an opening 24 on its upper part, which, according to the exemplary embodiment shown, opens into the deflection channel 18, etc. at least partially in the descending branch 18 'of the deflection channel, in which the wastewater to be discharged in turn flows downwards.
  • the opening 24 serves to ventilate the drainage channel when it is sucking due to draining water.
  • the metered ventilation takes place via a ventilation valve 25 attached to the opening 24.
  • a cleaning spring as illustrated by the dashed line F, can be inserted directly into the drainage channel without any Expansion of the siphon is required.
  • the opening 24 is formed by a pipe socket 27 arranged on the housing 1 at a distance from the rear wall 13 thereof, which is supported by support walls 28 on the inlet nozzle 6 and on the upper housing part.
  • the siphon can be made as flat as possible and requires only a very small installation depth
  • the front side wall 3 of the housing 1 which has the inlet opening 2 is inclined, etc. starting from the bottom 4 with a narrowing of the cross-section of the housing 1 towards the rear to the rear wall 13 of the housing 1.
  • the resulting cross-sectional constrictions in the interior of the housing 1 cause an increase in the flow rate of the waste water and thereby a good self-cleaning of the siphon.
  • the ventilation valve 25 has a pipe section 26 which can be inserted into the pipe socket 27 and which is provided with an O-ring seal 26 '.
  • a union nut 26 '' secures the ventilation valve on the pipe section. In this way, despite the limited space, manipulations on the ventilation valve 25 can be carried out relatively comfortably and its installation and removal can be carried out in a simple manner with the greatest possible security against leaks.
  • a cover 29 which is open towards the front of the siphon and extends the rear wall 13 and the side walls 11 and 12.
  • This cover 29 surrounds the ventilation valve 25 at a distance 30, so that the ventilation valve 25 is easy to manipulate and there is also enough space for inserting a cleaning spring.
  • the cover 29 is advantageously not formed in one piece with the housing 1, but is connected to it via a snap connection 31, with laterally projecting holding parts 32 being arranged on the upper part of the housing, which are equipped at their ends with snap lugs 33, on which counter-snap lugs 34 Cover can be attached.
  • a protective cover 35 preferably made of polypropylene or a recycled plastic, is provided, with its free edge 36 can be pushed over the cover 29 and the housing 1, if necessary with latching.
  • the front wall 37 of the protective hood 35 is equipped with a recess 38 into which the inlet connector 6 can be inserted, thereby ensuring that the protective hood 35 is held securely on the siphon.
  • grooves 39 are provided in a certain area on the side walls surrounding the front wall 37, so that cutting and removing the unnecessary part of the protective hood 35, i.e. of the part that protrudes over the finished tiled or plastered wall 40 is possible in a simple manner.
  • the rest of the cover remains bricked up.
  • the cutting can be facilitated by the slot 39 interrupting slot-shaped recesses 39 'which break through the side walls and allow the safe insertion of a cutting tool.
  • the siphon can be covered with a front cover plate 41, which has a passage opening 42 for the inlet connector 6.
  • the cover plate 41 is pushed with the passage opening 42 over the inlet connection 6 and fixed thereon with a nut 43 screwable thereon against the wall, against which the edges of the wall come to rest.
  • the nut 43 has an annular spacer flange 44 which comes to rest on the cover plate 41.
  • the cover plate 41 has air passage openings 45 lying behind the nut 43 and peripherally surrounding the opening 42 and the spacing flange 44 of the nut 43.
  • the invention is not limited to the embodiment shown in the drawing, but can be modified in various ways.
  • the opening 24 does not necessarily have to open into the deflection channel 18, but it can also flow into the outflow channel 19 adjoining the deflection channel 18 or also open into the inlet connection 6.
