Abstract

The invention concerns a safety-closure sealing cap (1) made of plastic and designed to physically interlock with the threaded portion (2) of the safety closure. Two downwards-projecting anchoring flaps (9), which are attached to the cap top (7) so that they can pivot, are connected to each other by two splayed struts (12) which are joined to each other so that they can pivot. When the sealing cap (1) is pressed on to the closure, the two splayed struts (12) are pushed into an essentially extended position and thus cause the two anchoring flaps (9) to splay outwards, teeth (11) on the flaps thus engaging in grooves (6) on the inside surface of the threaded portion (2) of the closure. At the same time, the two splayed struts (12) engage with a lock-in tooth (18) which is connected to the top (7) of the cap. The sealing cap (1) can only be opened by destroying it.

Description

The invention relates to a sealing cap for a security lock. Generic sealing caps made of plastic have become known from DE-A's 36 37 644 and 33 15 548.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a sealing cap of the type mentioned, which can be applied in a simple manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing parts of the independent claims, which define different embodiments of the sealing cap. Since the locking connection between the sealing cap and the locking screw takes place within the recess of the locking screw and not on the outer edge of the security lock, this connection point is no longer accessible from the outside after snapping in, so that subsequent manipulation, in particular opening the lock without destroying the Sealing cap is no longer possible. This means that the requirements for a tamper-evident seal are met.

According to a first embodiment of the invention, when using a locking screw which has at least one circumferential groove on the inner edge of its recess, it is provided that two are articulated as an anchoring element the anchoring flaps connected to the cover surface project downward, each having on their outer edge in the circumferential groove on the inner edge of the locking screw engaging anchoring teeth, and that the two anchoring flaps are connected to one another by two articulated bracing struts which are supported on the bottom of the recess of the locking screw.

Such a circumferential groove is usually already formed on the inner edge of the recess of the locking screw by the production of the external thread of the locking screw, so that this groove or several grooves can be used as undercuts for anchoring the sealing cap.

The connection of the two anchoring flaps pivotally attached to the cover surface by the common expansion struts ensures that the two anchoring flaps are held in place in their anchoring position with great rigidity because the two anchoring flaps are supported diagonally against one another via the expansion struts. As a result of the positive engagement of the anchor teeth of the anchoring flaps on the undercuts of the locking screw, the sealing cap, which in the closed state is a largely rigid component in itself, can only be released after destruction. The requirements for a tamper-evident closure are therefore met to a high degree.

The sealing cap is put on in a simple manner by pressure or impact from above. The force required for this is relatively low, because a high force transmission in the manner of a toggle joint is achieved by pivoting the articulated struts. The sealing cap can therefore be applied with relatively little force; she However, in the closed state it is such a rigid structure that it can only be detached after it has been destroyed.

In the closed state, the two expansion struts engage with at least one locking element projecting from the cover surface. As a result, the spreading struts are securely held in their locking position in the closed state even when the sealing cap is deformed by external forces.

According to a second embodiment of the invention, it is provided for locking screws, in the recess of which two laterally open eyelets are arranged, that two anchoring tongues connected to the cover surface and extending at a distance parallel thereto are provided as anchoring elements, which are turned laterally by a rotary movement of the sealing cap the eyelets are insertable, and that the anchoring tongues have barbs engaging behind the eyelets at their free ends.

Such laterally open eyelets are provided on the conventional locking screws anyway. The connection with the sealing cap is made by a simple rotary movement until the anchoring tongues are inserted into the eyelets until the barbs snap into place on the eyelets. A backward rotation to open the sealing cap is thereby positively prevented, so that the sealing cap must be destroyed when opening.

According to a third embodiment of the invention it is provided that the anchoring elements have at least two locking hooks projecting downward from the cover surface are that snap elastically and positively behind opposite undercuts of the locking screw.

The sealing cap is connected to the screw plug by simply pressing it on until the locking hooks snap behind the undercuts. Since this is a form-fitting connection, loosening is only possible if the sealing cap is destroyed.

Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen des Erfindungsgedankens sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Further advantageous embodiments of the inventive concept are the subject of the dependent claims.

The sealing cap 1 shown in FIGS. 1-3 is made in one piece from plastic and is intended for connection to a screw plug 2 of a safety closure of a liquid container, in particular a safety closure according to DIN 6643 for a steel bung container.

The screw plug 2 has an upwardly open recess 3 with an edge 4 on which an external thread 5 is formed. In the manufacture of the external thread 5 on the locking screw 2 formed from sheet metal, grooves 6 are formed on the inner edge, which represent undercuts.

The sealing cap 1 has an essentially flat cover surface 7 which covers the screw plug 2 and which merges into a cap edge 8 which overlaps the edge of the safety closure.

From the cover surface 7, two anchoring flaps 9 protrude downward at opposite points, each of which is articulated to the cover surface 7 via a thin hinge web 10.

The two anchoring flaps 9 each have a plurality of anchor teeth 11 on their outside. The two anchoring flaps 9 are connected to one another by two diametrically arranged expansion struts 12. Each expansion strut 12 is connected in an articulated manner to the associated anchoring flap 9 via a hinge web 13. In the middle of the sealing cap 1, the two expansion struts 12 are connected to one another by a joint web 14. In the initial state of the sealing cap 1 shown in FIG. 1, the joint formed by the joint web 14 lies at the lowest point of the expansion struts 12, ie the two Spreading struts 12 extend from the hinge webs 14 in a flat V-shaped arrangement obliquely upwards to the two anchoring flaps 10, which are pivoted inwards with respect to the vertical.

In this position, the sealing cap 1 can be placed on the screw plug 2, as shown in Fig. 1. With their two inner ends, on each of which a lower support bead 15 is provided, the two expansion struts 12 are supported on the bottom of the recess 3 on a sheet metal strip 2a which is usually provided there. If the sealing cap 1 is now pressed by pressure or impact from above onto the locking screw 2, the inner ends of the expansion struts 12 are pressed into the position shown in FIG. 2 up to their horizontal position. The expansion struts 12 spread the two flaps 9 apart into the vertical position shown. At the same time, their anchor teeth 11 are pressed into the grooves 6 on the inner edge of the locking screw 2 and form a positive locking connection there.

Each expansion strut 12 has a rib 16 on its upper side, which is supported at its outer end by a projection 17 in the closed state (FIG. 2) on the inside of the anchoring flap 9 which is connected in an articulated manner. As a result, the anchoring flap is held stable in its position in which the anchor teeth 11 engage in the grooves 6.

A latching web 18 connected to the lid surface 7 forms a latching element projecting downward from the lid surface 7, which engages with the two expanding struts 12 in the closed state.

For this purpose, the latching web 18 is essentially arrow-shaped at its lower end in cross section and has a latching edge 19 on both sides, which in the closed state (FIG. 2) is engaged behind by a latching hook 20, which is connected to the associated expansion strut 12 and is designed as an upper projection of the rib 16.

At the same time, the locking web 18 forms with its lower end a stop for the inner ends of the two expansion struts 12. This prevents the expansion struts 12 from moving further upward after their extended position has been exceeded. As shown in FIG. 2, in the closed state of the sealing cap, the expansion struts 12 remain in an essentially extended position in which the two anchoring flaps 9 are supported in a stable manner. The stop formed by the locking web 18 prevents the spreading struts from moving upward in the closed state.

The latching web 18 is connected to a tear tab 21 which is delimited in the cover surface 7 by lines of weakness 22. To open the closure, the tear tab 21 can be gripped on a grip tongue 23 and pulled up. As a result, the expansion struts 12 are released and the sealing cap 1, which has been destroyed along the weakening lines 22, can be removed.

On the underside of the cover surface 7, a plurality of projecting cams 24 are provided which are supported on the upper edge of the locking screw 2 and which ensure that the top of the safety lock is ventilated.

The sealing cap 1 'shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is intended for connection with a screw plug 2, in particular a screw plug according to DIN 6643, which has two laterally open eyelets 25 in its recess 3.

In this case, two anchoring tongues 26 are provided as anchoring elements, which are integrally connected at one end 26a to the cover surface 7 of the sealing cap 1 '. The anchoring tongues 26 extend on a circular arc section concentrically to the center of the sealing cap 1 'at a distance parallel to the cover surface 7. They lie on a diameter which corresponds to the distance between the two eyelets 25.

After the sealing cap 1 'has been put on, each anchoring tongue 26 is laterally inserted into the associated eyelet 25 by a rotary movement, which is indicated by an arrow 27 in FIG. 5. At their free ends, the anchoring tongues 26 each have an inwardly directed barb 28. These barbs 28 engage behind the eyelets 25 at the end of the rotational movement and prevent the sealing cap 1 'from rotating back. The sealing cap can only be opened by violent destruction.

A further modified embodiment of a sealing cap 1 ″ is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. In this case, at least two, in the exemplary embodiment shown four latching hooks 29 project downward from the cover surface 7. These latching hooks 29 engage elastically and positively behind opposite undercuts 25a on the edge of the eyelets 25 of the locking screw 2. The locking hooks 29 also prevent the sealing cap 1 ″ from rotating, so that it is not possible to bring the locking hooks 29 out of engagement with the undercuts 25a by rotation.

In order to ensure that the latching hooks 29 engage securely, the sealing cap 1 'is centered the screw plug 2 is appropriate. For this purpose, centering projections 30 projecting downward from the cover surface 7 are provided in the form of cylindrical sections which run concentrically to the peripheral edge of the sealing cap 1 ″ and which center the sealing cap 1 ″ on the inner edge of the locking screw 2.
