Description

FR-A-2 278 891).The invention relates to a chain drive for hinged wings of windows, doors or the like. With the features of the preamble of claim 1 (see. FR-A-2 278 891).

Motorized opening devices, such as opening scissors or the like, are increasingly being used for tilting or hinged windows. The possible opening angle and thus the opening to be opened is limited for opening scissors. In many cases, however, it is required that a large opening of the wing be made possible, for example to ensure rapid and reliable smoke extraction or the like in the event of danger. Knife scissors are generally not suitable for these cases.

On one end of the housing there is a chain drive wheel, which is in engagement with the release chain and can drive the chain into or out of the housing. The axis of the chain drive wheel is perpendicular to the flat side of the housing. In addition to the chain drive wheel, the inserted chain is supported with three chain guide sections which are essentially parallel to one another, for which purpose two narrow radii of curvature are required. This chain drive in the prior art thus achieves a particularly large chain length with a reasonable size of the housing, so that a large opening angle and a particularly large ventilation opening to be opened for the deployable wing is achieved.

In contrast, it is an object of the invention to enable a further extension of the chain which can be introduced into the housing, and this with approximately the same housing dimensions and additionally with an electric motor drive arranged in the housing.

This object is achieved by the teaching of claim 1.

With this solution, it is possible to accommodate a long length of the chain guide required for accommodating the display chain in a chain drive housing of limited dimensions and to extend or retract this long length safely with the motor drive, because the three chain sections extend over essentially the same, cover lengths corresponding to the length of the housing. At the same time, the drive axis of the electric motor drive is aligned parallel to the three chain guide sections mentioned and the installation height of the drive motor corresponds approximately to the height of the housing. A compact arrangement of chain guide sections and electromotive drive can thus be achieved with almost complete use of the space available in the housing without the chain introduced into the housing having to go through tight radii of curvature.

A helical arrangement of the chain guide can preferably be used, as indicated in the further development according to the teaching of claim 3. A particularly favorable spatial arrangement, which is also advantageous for operation, of the entire chain length in the chain drive housing can be achieved according to the teaching of claim 6.

It is already known from AU-A 26 009/77 to provide a helical arrangement with two or more levels for the inserted chain, using a ramp. In this example from the prior art, however, the chain drive sprocket is arranged laterally next to the three chain guide sections, so that again there are narrow radii of curvature with an elongated housing at the same time, without the electromotive drive being taken into account in this arrangement.

An electric motor drive is also proposed in connection with an embodiment according to US 4,481,735, in which, however, the chain inserted into the housing is scanned via two limit switches and not even three chain guide sections in the housing which are parallel to one another can be achieved, but only 1½ parallel sections are provided. The motor is arranged outside the housing and is mechanically connected to the axis of the drive pinion arranged perpendicular to the chain guide sections. A compact arrangement of a long display chain cannot be achieved there.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of schematic drawings using several exemplary embodiments.

Figures 1-3 show a tilt window with a particularly large opening angle. The window usually consists of a frame on which a sash frame is articulated by lower tilting bearings 3, at the upper end of which the free end of an opening chain 7 is attached via a mounting bracket 6, which chain chain belongs to a chain drive 4, which includes the drive elements and the chain guide accommodating housing 5, which is attached above the wing flap on the frame.

For easier assembly, the housing 5 consists of at least two housing parts which are firmly connected to one another.

As can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, the housing 10 can have mounting elements 15, 16 in the inner region for attaching a motor with a transmission and transmission output pinion and for mounting a chain drive wheel, the motor transmission axis being designated 16a and the axis of rotation of the chain drive link being 15a. A chain guide is arranged in the housing, which is designed as an elongated flat housing, the length of which is indicated by L in FIG. This essentially consists of three chain guide sections 12a, 12b, 12c arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction of the housing and to one another, the length of which corresponds approximately to the length L of the housing. These longitudinal sections are connected to one another by transition sections, one of which is two, 13 and 14, extend parallel to the end faces of the housing. Section 14 also forms the exit section of the chain guide, the exit opening of which is indicated at 14a.

The chain drive in both directions of movement takes place in the transition region between the outlet section 14 and the subsequent longitudinal section 12a of the chain guide. All guide sections lie in a common plane parallel to the upper side of the housing, as illustrated in FIG. 5, which represents a section along the section line V-V in FIG.

The height of the housing is determined by the installation height of the actual drive, while the width dimensions of the housing are determined by the longitudinal sections 12a-12c of the chain guide lying next to one another in the same plane.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 6-8, which is preferred, the ratio between the total length of the chain and the size dimensions of the chain drive housing can be made even more favorable. The housing 20, 21 of the chain drive is again made of several parts and has a flat, elongated box shape. The height and width of the central area of the housing are intended to accommodate the actual drive. This consists of a drive motor 22 with gear 23 and output shaft 24, on which, for example, a helical gear or a worm 25 is arranged, which is in drive engagement with a gear 27 which is connected coaxially and in terms of drive with a chain drive gear 29. The axis of rotation of the actual drive is designated by 26 and the axis of rotation of the gear 27 and the sprocket 29 by 28. As can be seen from Figure 7, the axis of rotation 26 lies in a plane 35 parallel to the flat side of the housing, which approximately halves the housing height. At approximately equal distances above and below level 35, loop-shaped sections of the continuous chain guide 32 lie in levels 36 and 37. The two levels are marked by an oblique line Ramp section 39 of the chain guide connected together. In this embodiment, the chain guide forms a full loop in a plane having the exit 33 from the housing, including the ramp-shaped section 39, which extends along the inner contours of the housing and has significantly more than twice the length of the housing 20, 21. In addition, the chain guide in the other plane extends again over a length corresponding to half the length of a full loop of the type described. In this way, a particularly long length of the opening chain is obtained with comparatively small dimensions of the housing. Here, too, the drive-out chain is driven directly at the transition section with the chain guide section having the outlet opening 33 and the subsequent first guide section extending along the length of the housing. The chain 30 is reliably received and guided in the chain guide. The essential part of the height of the housing is largely determined by the necessary installation height of the housing. The same applies to the width and length of the housing.
