Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a temporary corking device for bottles intended to contain more particularly, although not exclusively, a champagne wine or the like.
We know that to obtain a champagne wine having all the required qualities, several phases and / or treatments, spanning several years, are necessary between its bottling and its sale on the market.
Thus, in the wine-making phase, known as the draft, we use, according to the Champagne method, a temporary, double corking device, that is to say consisting of a shutter and a corking capsule. . More particularly, the shutter, also called "cartridge" by professionals, is made of a synthetic material and has a hollow cylindrical shape, able to forcefully engage in the opening of the neck of the bottle until 'An annular projection of a transverse wall, closing the opposite end to that engaging in the opening, comes into axial abutment against a corresponding part of the annular end face of the neck. The metal capsule subsequently holds the shutter thus inserted by means of a cork seal, in the form of a disc, provided on the internal bottom of the capsule and pressing against the annular end face. from the neck and against the transverse wall of the obturator. The lateral periphery of the capsule is, for this, crimped onto an external annular rim of said neck, which ensures the fixing of the temporary closure device.
These devices must then guarantee a perfect seal during the time of their installation on the bottles, which generally reaches two years, while resistant to internal pressure, between 6 and 7 bars, of gases which arise within the liquid contained in the bottles. Then, we proceed to the so-called release phase which consists in removing said capsule to release the generated gas, expelling the shutter.
However, it sometimes happens that these closure devices lose their effectiveness by causing the appearance of leakage and / or seepage of the liquid, contained in the bottles, towards the outside. This is mainly due to the cork gasket which, due to the high pressure exerted on the transverse wall of the shutter and therefore on it, and the duration of installation, can deform and degrade, due to its insufficient mechanical properties, in particular resistance to pressure. Consequently, the seal is not always fully guaranteed.
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and relates to a temporary corking device for bottles making it possible to improve the holding in position of said shutter and the seal against the outside.
- a cylindrical shutter, capable of being forcibly engaged in the opening of the neck of the bottle and closed by a transverse wall with an annular projection coming into axial abutment against the annular end face of said neck; and,
- a closure cap, the periphery of which is intended to be crimped onto an external annular rim of said neck, and against the internal bottom of which is provided a seal suitable for applying against said annular face of the neck and against the transverse wall said shutter,
Thus, thanks to the nature of the seal, made of synthetic material, which is less subject to deformation and, therefore, to the pressure exerted on the shutter, than a cork seal, and to the presence of a annular lip to guarantee the tightness and of pins to maintain in position said obturator, a temporary closure device is produced having the mechanical characteristics required to resist the internal pressure and to avoid the risks of leakage and / or seepage.
Preferably, said lining comprises an additional annular sealing lip, concentric with the previous one and capable of being applied against the annular end face of said neck. The seal is thus perfected since it is obtained by the contact of the two lips on the annular face ending the neck of the bottle. Advantageously, the two concentric annular lips form between them a V or the like so that, when said closure cap is crimped, the free edges of said lips are crushed over almost the entire annular end face of said neck. Thus, the seal produced is optimal since the crushed edges of the lips arrive up to the vicinity respectively of the annular projection of said obturator and of the external annular rim.
Furthermore, said pins can be arranged according to the same circumference, in an equi-angular manner distributed with respect to each other. More particularly, said pins are then located on a circumference close to said annular lip, so that they are applied to the annular projection of said obturator, itself in abutment against the corresponding part of the annular end face of said neck. This effectively maintains said shutter depressed, taking up internal pressure as best as possible.

- Figure 1 shows, in exploded axial section, an embodiment of said temporary closure device according to the invention, before its introduction into the neck of a bottle.
- Figure 2 is a bottom view of said closure cap showing said seal.
- FIG. 3 represents, on an enlarged scale and in axial half-section, the closure device after its installation in the neck of said bottle.
The
More particularly, the
The closure cap 4 is metallic, and it usually comprises a crenellated peripheral
Advantageously, this
In this preferred embodiment, the
As shown in Figure 3, there is provided on the one hand, a double seal between the
