Definitions
- the invention relates to an agitator with an agitator shaft, a drive, an agitator tool and a contactless coupling for transmitting a drive torque from the drive via the agitator shaft to the agitator tool.
- an agitator with an agitator shaft and a drive via a drive belt is known.
- the belt drives a pulley, which in turn is connected to a contactless coupling.
- the contactlessly acting magnetic coupling transmits the drive torque to a second coupling part arranged within a can, which is firmly connected to a stirring shaft which projects into a container and has a stirring tool on the lower part.
- the tube which has the secondary part of the electromagnetic coupling on the inside, hermetically seals the container from the outside.
- the interior of the tube with two bearing points for the secondary part of the magnetic coupling and for the flying mounting of the agitator axis thus forms part of the interior of the container.
- an agitator which has a tube projecting into the tank, the stator of an electromotive drive being inserted into the tube.
- the tube is also from encased a second tube, which in turn has stirring tools fixedly attached to it.
- the inner tube hermetically separates the contents of the container from the environment.
- the outer tube is also supported in the upper flange area. In addition, it is stored again at the lower end of the inner tube.
- This stirrer is completely unsuitable for sterile applications because it has long, difficult to access gaps and several storage points inside the container.
- specially designed motors are required for agitators according to EP 02 10 651 A2, the cooling of which inside the tube can be problematic if, as usual, process heat is generated in the container and is transferred to the motor.
- US 5 061 079 describes an agitator in which a stator is provided in part of the mixing vessel. In this way, the mixing vessel can be completely encapsulated.
- a rotor is placed on the stator without contact in the mixing vessel. During operation, the rotor sucks in liquid between the vessel wall and the inside of the rotor by means of blades, which can escape again through an opening on the top of the rotor. Due to the excess pressure inside the rotor, the rotor is raised and then runs with low friction losses. The constant flow of liquid through the rotor ensures thorough mixing of the liquid in the mixing vessel.
- a disadvantage of this agitator is that it cannot be used for microbiological processes. Strong shear forces occur when flowing through the rotor, which would destroy the microorganisms. In addition, this stirrer drive also has cooling problems with the stator when the device is used in exothermic processes.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a stirrer using known standard motors, which is easy to sterilize for aseptic and sterile processes.
- the agitator shaft is encased by a tube which is open on one side and is connected to the drive through the opening of the tube, the non-contact coupling being provided between the agitator shaft and the agitating tool arranged outside the tube.
- Commercially available electric motors can be used, the cooling of which outside the container presents no difficulties.
- the agitator shaft can be easily stored inside the pipe, even with tall containers. Malfunctions due to defective bearings are therefore not to be feared. This is particularly important because the batches in fermenters, for example for the production of pharmaceuticals, are very valuable. Such batches are endangered by disruptions in process control.
- the agitator shaft is mounted at least twice within the tube.
- the deflections of the agitator shafts known from the prior art are advantageously avoided by this measure.
- Critical shaft speeds are mastered.
- the stirring tool can be provided at the optimal location for stirring and mixing.
- the measure that the stirring tool is designed as an impeller with an inner surface partially enveloping the tube and an outer surface with at least one channel connecting the two surfaces serves to improve the self-cleaning property of the stirring tool.
- the inner area around the bearing is constantly rinsed with the product to be mixed.
- the cleaning liquid also reaches the hard-to-reach places in the area of the bearings.
- the product or the cleaning liquid can also run out of the stirring tool after the container has been emptied.
- the hermetic separation of the container interior is achieved in that the tube has a seal or sealing surface at the drive end.
- the attachment of the stirring tool to the container is made easier if the tube has a mounting flange at the drive end.
- a second clutch is arranged between the drive and agitator shaft serves to facilitate disassembly of the agitator.
- the tube has an interior that is heatable or coolable.
- the tube itself is coolable or heatable, preferably double-walled for this purpose.
- 1 denotes a bearing and protective tube, within which a drive shaft 2 is rotatably fixed by means of bearings 7 and 8.
- the lower end of the bearing and protective tube 1 is designed as a pot-like can 12, which forms the end of the bearing and guide tube.
- the agitator shaft 2 projects into the can 12 and carries at its lower end a magnetic disk 5 equipped with a plurality of permanent magnets in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the can 12 is partially enveloped by the impeller head 13. Inside the impeller head 13 is the magnetic disk 5 a number of oppositely polarized permanent magnets, not shown, is arranged opposite, so that a torque can be transmitted from the drive shaft 2 to the impeller head 13 without contact by the magnetic forces between the magnetic disk 5 and the permanent magnets.
- the impeller head 13 carries vanes 4 attached to webs as stirring tools.
- the impeller head is supported by the product-lubricated slide bearing 6, which is seated on a shaft stub 14 formed downwards on the can 12.
- the inner depression with the surface 15 of the impeller 13 is connected via channel 3 to the outer surface 16 of the impeller 13.
- a pump effect is generated from the channel 3, which is directed radially outwards in some way, and allows the liquid present in the pot-shaped cavity of the impeller 13 to flow outwards.
- the inner surface of the impeller is constantly rinsed with product liquid, which has a self-cleaning effect.
- the upper end of the guide and bearing tube ends in a guide surface 17 with a subsequent mounting flange 18.
- a sealing groove with a seal 11 is formed, which closes the gap between the guide surface 17 and the mounting socket 19 in the container wall 20.
- the mounting piece 19 and wall 20 is shown in broken lines.
- the agitator shaft 2 is connected to drive 10 via coupling 9 and gear 21.
- the drive 10 and the gear 21 are coaxially screwed directly onto the mounting flange 18.

Description
