Definitions

  • the invention relates to a propellant charge case according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for its production according to the preamble of claim 2.
  • Propellant charge sleeves made of both steel and aluminum are known, the latter serving to save weight.
  • the wall thickness of propellant charge cases made of steel is also kept as low as possible, in particular for ammunition which is to be carried in the air.
  • a manufacturing method is known from US Pat. No. 3,058,195 which, however, serves the purpose of producing a projectile tip with a subsequent cylindrical bullet casing jacket of the same diameter.
  • a stamp enlarged in diameter over a single paragraph creates a stop through the paragraph, which is decisive for the ogive formation of the projectile tip and the compression process required for this. Due to the non-generic process steps and direction, this manufacturing process cannot be a model for the manufacturing process according to the invention.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a propellant charge case according to the preamble of claim 1, with the locking clamps and malfunctions in the unloading movement of the weapon in a caliber range between min. 25mm to 35mm or above can be avoided.
  • the wall thickness of the shoulder cone compared to that of the sleeve body is reduced at least in the area adjacent to the shoulder cone in the tenths of a millimeter range, which is produced when the sleeve body is pulled by using a stamp having a bead in the area of the later shoulder cone, surprisingly the mentioned malfunctions no longer occur observed.
  • the functional soothes that occurred can be attributed to the fact that the propellant charge sleeve expands not only radially but also axially in the cargo space due to the gas pressure when the shot is fired, with the axial widening of the axial locking movement of approx. 0.15 mm and thereby - if only slightly - is plastically deformed, which prevents complete springback.
  • the proposed tapering of the shoulder cone forming the transition region of the propellant charge sleeve could cause sufficient elastic resilience of the propellant charge sleeve when the shot is fired, so that the breech executes its axial resilience can and a jamming is reduced to a minimum by the friction generated between the closure and the sleeve base during the closure opening movement, so that the closure can be opened easily.
  • the one-piece propellant charge sleeve made of steel comprises a cylindrical sleeve body 1, which has a sleeve base 2 at one end and a sleeve neck 3 with a reduced diameter compared to the sleeve body 1 at the other end, the sleeve neck 3 via a shoulder cone 4 with the sleeve body 1 is connected.
  • the sleeve base 2 has a central opening 5 for receiving an igniter and a circumferential recess 6.
  • the sleeve body 1 is provided with a circumferential bead 7 at a certain distance from the shoulder cone 4.
  • the wall thickness of the sleeve body 1 decreases continuously from, for example, 1.4 mm to 0.9 mm from the area of the sleeve base 2 to the shoulder cone 4.
  • Such propellant charge cases are used, for example, for calibres from 25 mm to 35 mm or above.
  • the area of the shoulder cone 4 is preferably in the tenth of a millimeter range in its wall thickness d compared to the wall thickness d 'of the adjacent area of the sleeve body 1, which amounts to 0.9 mm, for example, by 0.05 mm to 0.4 mm, in particular 0.01 to 0 , 2 mm, which gives this area greater elasticity.
  • This shoulder cone 4 with reduced wall thickness is produced in that when a corresponding already sleeve-shaped fitting 8 is pulled, a punch 9 with a bead 10 which projects radially by a distance d '' from the outside diameter of the punch 9 and a length corresponding to that for the training of the later shoulder cone 4 has the required length is used, that in the area of the later shoulder cone 4 has a corresponding tenth of a millimeter Tapered wall thickness is generated so that when the shoulder cone 4 is subsequently shaped, it has a constant wall thickness, which is reduced compared to the sleeve body 1, despite the upsetting that occurs.
  • the propellant charge sleeve can be manufactured from a cylindrical blank which can first be shaped in a sleeve-like manner by upsetting processes and then by drawing processes.

Claims (2)

    - la douille pour charge propulsive à un calibre de 25 mm à 35 mm ou plus;
    - l'épaisseur de paroi du corps de douille (1) va en diminuant de façon continue, de la zone du fond de douille (2) jusqu'au cône à épaulement (4);
    - l'épaisseur de paroi (d) constante du cône à épaulement (4) est inférieure, de 0,05 mm à 0,4 mm, à l'épaisseur de paroi (d') de la zone voisine du corps de douille (1).
