Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a plastic ski boot essentially consisting of a shell surrounding the foot and the heel, a rod-shaped rod articulated on the shell and a rigid frame connecting the rear part of the collar. to the hull and comprising a hoop-shaped part surrounding the rear of the hull.
  • Such a ski boot is known from document EP-A-0430 821.
  • this boot is equipped with a frame made of shape of gutter extending on each lateral face of the collar and articulated on a rigid U-shaped arch at the height of the articulation of the collar on the shell, this arch extending obliquely in the direction of the sole and being articulated by its ends on the sides of the sole.
  • a shoe made of thermo-plastic material comprising a shell and a collar connected to the shell by a U-shaped frame consisting of a steel rod. of circular section.
  • the frame has two branches extending on either side of the rear part of the collar, these branches then being bent obliquely forward to come to be embedded in two parts integral with the shell.
  • the purpose of this frame is to better control the flexibility of the shoe, independently of the inherent flexibility of the plastic. It also allows you to adjust the flexibility of the shoe.
  • This structure also has the effect of increasing the torsional rigidity and consequently to improve the transmission of a torsional force on the skis when taking an edge when cornering.
  • the object of the present invention is to improve the transmission of forces to the ski in order to obtain a much faster response from the ski, in particular when the edge is changed. This object must be achieved independently of the characteristics of the plastic material constituting the shoe, that is to say without it being necessary to increase the rigidity and / or the thickness thereof.
  • the ski boot according to the invention is characterized in that the arch-shaped part is fixed to the shell in a substantially horizontal plane and constitutes the upper part of the heel intended to receive the support of the ski binding.
  • the arch will therefore support the pressure from the heel of the ski binding.
  • the height of the plastic part of the heel is reduced so that the total heel height meets standards.
  • the upper part of the frame could be made as shown in patent FR 2 330 345 or, for example, include a middle part fixed to the back of the collar, this middle part being connected by two lower arms at the ends of the hoop and by two arms upper to the sides of the collar.
  • any lateral tilting movement of the leg, on either side of the longitudinal joint plane of the boot, is transmitted directly to the binding, that is to say to the ski by the rigid frame and particularly by the roll bar.
  • the ski responds immediately to any edge change order and the edge grip becomes more precise and safer.
  • the framework will, in principle, be made of metal, but any synthetic material with sufficient rigidity could also be used.
  • the frame can be made in one piece or in several pieces.
  • the reinforcement consists of several parts, these parts can be made of different materials. It is thus possible to produce the arch in rigid self-lubricating synthetic material, such as TEFLON (registered trademark) so as to increase the operational safety of the ski binding when it is released, in particular in the event of tripping when subjected to torsional stress.
  • TEFLON registered trademark
  • the frame can be easily executed in an interchangeable form.
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of a shoe according to a first embodiment.
  • Figure 2 shows an exploded view of the frame.
  • Figure 3 shows an alternative embodiment of the upper arms of the frame.
  • Figure 4 is an exploded view of a second embodiment.
  • Figure 5 is a perspective view in section of the second embodiment.
  • FIG. 6 represents an alternative embodiment of the first embodiment.
  • Figure 7 shows a third embodiment.
  • Figures 1 and 2 schematically represent a shell 1 on which is articulated the upper of the shoe consisting of a collar 2 whose back has a flat face 3 or slightly curved about an axis transverse to the shoe. There is also the upper part of an inner boot 4. This type of boot is well known in itself.
  • the shoe further comprises a frame 5 here made up of three pieces 51, 52, 53.
  • the middle piece 51 consists of a U-shaped profile which fits onto the back of the collar 2 and is applied against its dorsal face 3 It is fixed to the collar 2 by two screws 6.
  • the upper screw 6 crosses the back 3 through a vertical oblong hole 7 to be screwed into a nut inside the collar.
  • the lower screw 6 crosses the back 3 through an oblong hole 8 to also be screwed into a fixed nut secured to the shell.
  • the part 51 also has a vertical row of holes 9 serving on the one hand, to lighten the part 51 and, on the other hand, to allow use in several parts and to allow an adjustment of the bending.
  • the lower part 52 has, at its upper part, a profile 10 which fits into a conjugate profile of the part 51.
  • the profile 10 has a hole 11 for the passage of the screw 6 which is used simultaneously for securing the parts 51 and 52 and the attachment of the part 52 to the hull.
  • the part 52 has two arms 12 and 13 extending on either side of the rear part of the shell 1 and connected to a hoop 14 surrounding the heel of the shoe in a horizontal plane.
  • the arch 14 is housed in a groove 15 of the shell so as to be integrated into the heel of the shoe and form the upper part of this heel, the lower part 16 of which is formed by the plastic material of the shell.
  • the total height of parts 14 and 16 is equal to the normalized height of the heel and their assembled shape is that of the standard.
  • the part 52 has holes 17 and 18 for the passage of a screw 19 passing through the shell 1 through a passage 20.
  • the screw 19 also passes through a plantar support 21 through a hole 22.
  • the screw 19 screws into the tapped hole 17.
  • the part 53 is in the form of a stirrup having a straight middle part 23 and two arms 24 and 25 extending on each side of the collar 2.
  • the stirrup 53 is fixed by its middle part 23 to the middle part 51 in the one of the holes 9 by means of a screw 26 cooperating with a nut 36.
  • Each of the arms 24 and 25 has, at its end, a lug 27 directed inwards and carrying a flange 28 at its end.
  • Each of these tenons engages in a rounded notch 29 provided on each of the sides of the upper edge of the collar 2.
  • the corresponding flange 28 engages inside the collar, so that the arms are hooked to the collar both longitudinally and transversely. AT behind the notches 29, the edge of the collar has an ascending ramp 30.
  • any tilting of the shoe on either side of its longitudinal median plane, along the double arrow F1 is transmitted directly by the arms 24 and 25 of the frame to the arch 14, that is to say the ski binding.
  • the oblong holes 7 and 8, as well as the method of attachment of the arms 24 and 25 to the collar 2, allow the flexibility of the shoe to be kept forward.
  • the pins 27 may, due to the flexibility of the material of the collar, move slightly along the ramps 30, thereby allowing forward bending.
  • Figure 3 shows an alternative embodiment of the part 53. It differs in that the arms 24 'and 25' are connected to the middle part 23 'by hinges 31 and 32 allowing the arms to move in double arrows, the width of the stirrup can thus adapt to the leg, that is to say to the different types of calves. The transmission of tilting movements along F1 is not altered by these articulations because it is effected by the part 51.
  • the frame can be made for example of light metal alloy, synthetic material, composite material or any other suitable material.
  • the frame 5 can be made in one piece. Such an embodiment 5 ′ is shown in FIG. 4.
  • the frame 5 ′ is similar to the frame 5 and, so as to avoid unnecessary repetition, the corresponding parts have been designated by the same references as in FIG. 2 with the addition of a sign '.
  • the position of the arms 24 'and 25' relative to the middle part of the frame is therefore not adjustable and these arms therefore are simply located at the upper end of the middle part.
  • the arches 14 and 14 'could be made of self-lubricating plastic.
  • the parts 51 and 52 of FIG. 1 can be connected by an articulation 33 as shown in FIG. 6.
  • the axis of this articulation is parallel to the articulation of the collar on the hull.
  • FIG. 7 An exemplary embodiment is shown in Figure 7.
  • the shoe consists of a shell 1 'on which is articulated a collar 2'.
  • the frame again comprises the parts 51 and 25, but the part 51 is fixed to a stirrup 34 articulated on the rivets 35 of articulation of the collar on the shell and, by these same rivets, at the ends of two arms 14a of the 'hoop 14.
  • the collar 2' is locked on the shell 1 'and the frame is perfectly rigid in lateral tilting.
  • Parts 51 and 34 could be in one piece.
