Abstract
Description
The invention is directed to a wear-resistant roller of a two-roller machine for the pressure treatment of granular material, in particular for high-pressure roller presses for pressure reduction, with wear-resistant pin-shaped material pieces partially embedded in the area of the roller surface of the roller body, which are harder than the roller material surrounding them.
In the case of roller presses and roller mills, granular, brittle regrind is drawn into the roller gap, by means of which the two rotatably mounted, counter-rotating rollers are separated from one another, where they are subjected to pressure treatment or pressure reduction.
Also known is the so-called material bed comminution in the nip of a high-pressure roller press, in which the individual particles of the ground material drawn in are mutually comminuted in a material bed, that is to say in a bed of material compressed between the two roller surfaces when an extremely high pressure is applied (EP-PS 0 084 383 ). The roller surfaces are exposed to extremely high loads, which results in high wear. It is known to counteract this wear by different design and coating of the roller surfaces exposed to wear. In EP-A-0 361 172, for example, various layers of different alloys are applied to the roller base body by welding to protect against wear.
It is further proposed in DE-A-41 32 474 that the surface areas of the grinding roller of a roller machine, in particular a high-pressure roller press, which are exposed to wear, are incorporated by inserting a large number of pin-shaped material pieces into corresponding recesses in the grinding roller, the material pieces having a significantly greater hardness have as the surrounding material of the grinding roller and for example consist of a hard metal to protect. Here, the storage is carried out according to this patent application so that only a portion of the pin-shaped material pieces is embedded in the lateral surface of the roller body and the remaining part protrudes hedgehog-shaped from the roller body. The spaces between the protruding pin-shaped pieces of material are filled with a further material, for example a ceramic mass or preferably during operation of the roller press with the comminution material fed to the grinding roller, so that in the latter case there is almost autogenous wear protection.
When operating the high-pressure roller press, however, the risk cannot be excluded that, due to the high pressure which acts on existing notch points in the recesses of the grinding rollers via the pin-shaped material pieces, in particular in the case of forces acting laterally, damage may occur as a result of cracks forming in the outer surface of the grinding roller and therefore unwanted downtimes can occur.
The object of the invention is to further develop the roller known from DE-A-41 32 474 and thus to create a wear-resistant roller according to the preamble of claim 1, which also permits the action of high compression pressures without damaging the roller body.
The object is achieved according to the invention with the measures of the characterizing part of claim 1.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
By the measure of the invention, the lower surfaces of the recesses in the roller body are curved - advantageously in the form of a spherical cap - and to adapt the inserted material pieces to the geometric shape of the recesses, it is achieved that the high pressing pressure acting on the inserted material pieces during operation of the roller press is distributed homogeneously to the roll material of the roll body surrounding the material pieces.
Furthermore, this measure prevents the formation of edges, in particular lateral edges, and thus avoids the occurrence of high notch stresses which originate from these edges particularly when forces act laterally on the inserted piece of material.
In order to bring about a complete frictional connection between the stored pieces of material and the surrounding roller material, existing, u. a. Production-related gaps between the pieces of material and the roller body are advantageously filled with a binder according to the invention. This measure also smoothes existing unevenness and roughness of the recesses and minimizes the crack-triggering effect of existing notch points.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the embedded material pieces are at least divided into two, namely that at least one insert made of a further material is introduced below the pin-shaped material pieces embedded in corresponding recesses, which largely fills the deepest area of the recess and its contour on the lower surface the pin-shaped material pieces are adapted.
According to the invention, the inserts are made of a material which can be deformed under a compressive stress which corresponds at least to the operating pressure of the roller machine, as a result of which the insert can completely adapt to all unevenness and roughness of the recesses. When the roller machine is in operation, the insert thus acts like a buffer which distributes the compressive stresses acting on the pin-shaped material pieces to the surrounding roller material in a homogeneous manner and prevents local pressure peaks.
Particularly suitable materials for the inlays are, according to the invention, easily deformable non-ferrous metals or such materials which have the same or similar material properties as the roller material surrounding the inlay, so that, for example, no thermal stresses can occur as a result of different expansion coefficients when compressing hot bulk materials. However, it is also possible to use a fine-grained bulk material as an insert, if this should be necessary.
