Description

The present invention relates to a fire-resistant glass and flame-resistant chassis with modular fire resistance, which must be installed in constructions capable of ensuring the protection of property or people against fire for a determined period.

There are currently fire-resistant frames capable of withstanding temperatures of the order of 1000 ° C for a maximum period of an hour and a half before deforming in protrusion towards the fire, freeing themselves from the glazing beads which they deform to fall and then stop fulfilling their firebreak function. These fire-resistant frames have a certain number of drawbacks such as their lack of modularity to allow fire resistance of variable duration, their inability to integrate into large glazed units without including a minimum of masonry, their difficult implementation. artwork. Indeed, generally, the assembly of the frame, the seals and the installation of very heavy glass volumes, are carried out at altitude, from outside the building, in often precarious security conditions. This assembly is carried out with very heavy handling means (crane, lifting platform) of random precision with regard to the thoroughness and precision required by the glass product to be installed.

The object of the present invention is therefore to propose a fire-resistant chassis free from the aforementioned drawbacks which is quick to install on large surfaces while offering significant resistance to fire over time.

To this end, the invention relates to a fire-rated glass and flame-retardant frame with modular fire resistance, to be installed in a support generally made of masonry, of the type comprising a rigid peripheral framework for holding a modular glass assembly consisting of '' at least one multilayer group of glass panels separated from each other by air knives, characterized in that the frame is secured to the support, generally in masonry, by means of a peripheral pre-frame previously fixed inside the support masonry, said pre-frame comprising fixing means such as oblong openings which cooperate with means for fixing the framework such as positioning studs to ensure on the one hand a transverse immobilization, on the other hand a free longitudinal expansion and vertical of the frame with respect to the pre-frame.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the amounts of the peripheral pre-frame assume the shape of an L, one of the branches bearing against the masonry support to be fixed to the latter, the perpendicular branch receiving by support the peripheral frame of the glass volume and the rigid peripheral frame of the modular glass volume is formed by a metal sole forming a frame obtained by cutting up and then assembling flat metal profiles, on the inner face of which is generally fixed a profile of square section intended to cooperate with a second profile coming to be fixed on this same internal face after insertion of a modular glass volume and its internal thermal sealing means so as to enclose the glass volume and ensure its maintenance in the frame and its resistance to high temperatures.

In accordance with FIGS. 1 and 9, the fire-rated glass frame, object of the invention, comprises a rigid peripheral frame 5 generally made of metal 6, 7, 8 forming a frame and maintaining a glass volume 9 which can be adjusted as a function of fire resistance desired. The frame 5 and glass volume 9 assembly once assembled is housed inside a peripheral frame 1 previously installed in a support such as a bay 4 generally made of masonry, the dimensions and positioning of which depend on the construction envisaged and its application (fire test rooms, factory control rooms, object exhibition spaces, etc.).

The pre-frame 1 is fixed inside the bay either at the time of the concrete production by means of a positioning dummy intended to guarantee its dimensions, or fixed on the bay after making the concrete and checking the dimensions of said bay . This pre-frame 1 is, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, consisting of uprights generally of steel affecting the shape of an L, one of the branches 3 of the L coming to bear against the masonry opening 4 to be fixed to the latter by means of, for example, dowels 15, the perpendicular branch 2 receiving by support the peripheral framework 5 of the glass volume 9 as shown in FIG. 9. Generally between this peripheral framework 5 and the frame 1, an insulating strip 14 is interposed .

The rigid peripheral frame 5 of the glass volume 9, which can be adjusted according to the thickness of the one-piece glass volume used and surrounding it, for its part, consists, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 6, of a metal sole 8 formed for example of sections cut to length in a flat bar on the inner face of which is fixed for example by welding a glazing bead 6 cut into pieces to length in a metal bar of substantially square section, the assembly 6, 8 being assembled by suitable means for forming a frame within which is inserted the glass volume which is immobilized in position by means of an additional glazing bead 7 attached and fixed for example by means of a screw 16 on the sole 8. Therefore, glazing beads 6 and 7 enclose the glass volume 9 by now in position. Obviously, it can be inserted between the glass volume and the peripheral framework 5 of the isolation means as will be described below.

The glass volume 9 is, as shown in particular in Figure 1, consisting of at least one multilayer group 11 (in the example shown, three in number), each group comprising a series of glass panels arranged parallel secured peripherally in the mirror shop with a spacer or spacer 10 between each window and between each multilayer group. Thanks to this design, depending on the number of multilayer groups used, the duration of fire resistance of the glass volume is chosen. Once constituted, this glass volume 9 is inserted into its peripheral framework 5 by interposing between the glass volume 9 and the framework 5, as shown in FIG. 1, a first strip of semi-rigid insulating material 12 of the order of 3 mm thick intended to compensate for dimensional deviations, this strip 12 being placed on a distribution plate made of rigid insulating material 13 with a thickness of the order of 5 mm. Complemented by the use of silicone seals 24, this arrangement of insulating materials makes it possible to prevent the deformation of the peripheral framework 5 of the chassis. Thanks to such a design, it is possible to have a whole range of chassis with variable fire resistance, the constituent elements of which are standardized. To do this, it suffices to have a series of soles 8, insulating plates 12 and 13 and pre-frames 1 of variable widths standardized with respect to the thicknesses of the glass volume 9.

Once the glass volume 9 is disposed in the peripheral framework 5 and held in position by fixing from place to place of the glazing bead 7, the assembly should be installed in the peripheral frame 1 itself already installed in the masonry support 4. It should be noted that the positioning of the glass volume in its peripheral framework 5 is generally carried out in the workshop or on the site, as shown in FIG. 8, by installing part of the peripheral framework 5 on easels 28 then by installing the glass volume inside the framework and by fixing the removable glazing bead 7. Subsequently, using appropriate lifting means, the peripheral framework 5 is provided with the glass volume 9 in the peripheral frame 1 as shown in FIG. 9. In this case, the peripheral framework 5 comprises in its lower part a positioning or centering stud 20 projecting from the framework and capable of penetrating inside an oblong opening 19 made in the wing 3 of the peripheral precadre 1 as shown in FIG. 6. This oblong opening 19 is oriented so as to immobilize the peripheral framework transversely inside of frame 1 and allow a longitudinal play of the latter.

In some cases, it is necessary to insert between the sole 8 of the peripheral framework 5 and the wing 3 of the preadframe 1 an intermediate wedging plate 21 as shown in Figure 6. Once the pin 20 introduced into the light 19, it suffices to continue to exert a push on the chassis, as shown in FIG. 9, so that the peripheral framework 5 comes to be completely housed in the peripheral frame 1. In the upper part, the peripheral framework 5 is secured to the peripheral pre-frame 1 by means of a screw 18 passing through an oblong slot 17 formed in the wing 3 of the peripheral pre-frame 1 and being screwed into the glazing bead 7 of the frame 5 of the chassis. Thanks to the orientation of this oblong lumen 17, as shown in FIG. 4, the peripheral framework 5 is immobilized transversely but is free vertically and generally longitudinally inside the pre-frame 1. To perfect the assembly on an aesthetic level , symmetrical L-shaped covers, generally made of lacquered sheet metal, should be placed on either side of the glass volume 9, so as to embed the latter at level of the peripheral framework 5 as shown in FIG. 1. The two ends of this cowling are folded at right angles and then folded again at an angle according to a fold 23 terminated by a shoulder which is clipped elastically under the shoulder of the bodies of fixing, generally screws, which ensure the fixing of the glazing beads on the sole. At the other end of the other branch of the L, the covers are clipped in the same way under the screw head which secures the peripheral frame 1 to the sole 8. This branch of the L comes to bear against the masonry opening 4. These cowls are then stuffed with an insulating material.

Quant aux ailes du T, elles jouent un rôle analogue à l'aile 2 du précadre périphérique 1.In the case of positioning two frames side by side in a peripheral frame 1 as shown in FIG. 2, it becomes necessary to use an intermediate frame 25 to separate the two contiguous frames which can be joined to the same peripheral frame. In general, in this case, as shown in FIG. 5, the intermediate pre-frame 25 takes the form of a T whose branch 26 perpendicular to the wings constitutes the means of separation between two flanges constituting the peripheral frameworks 5 of the glass volumes 9. In this case, the branch of this T is enclosed by the external faces of the soles 8. As for the wings of the T, they play a role analogous to the wing 2 of the peripheral frame 1.

In the same way as described above, it is necessary to use cowlings to perfect the aesthetics of the product. These cowlings in this case assume the shape of a U as shown in FIG. 5 in which they are designated by the reference 27.
