Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for cleaning the ventilation circuit of a household appliance dryer and in particular of a washer-dryer machine.
Such machines include a ventilated air circulation device, this ventilation being carried out by a turbine. The air flow in which the laundry is brewed will inevitably transport fibers extracted from this load of laundry during the spin phase and / or during the drying phase. These fibers transported by the air flow will deposit or accumulate in different places in the drying circuit. Obstacles or changes of sections of this ventilation circuit favor this phenomenon of fiber deposition which can go as far as the complete obstruction of sections. In particular, the rotating turbine and the exhaust duct (called condenser) to the air tank are unavoidable major obstacles since they create air circulation. Thus, in the machines ensuring this function of drying of the linen, this phenomenon of deposit of fibers on the turbine can cause important dysfunctions. The turbine is loaded with fibers and loses its aerodynamics. The air flow then decreases and a decrease in drying performance is observed. Too great a loss of the aerodynamic properties of the turbine can lead to dramatic overheating which can go as far as fire, in the absence of thermal safety, since the heating elements can no longer transmit their calorific power to the flow d 'air.
To solve this problem, different solutions are proposed.
The first consists of incorporating a filter into the air circuit, but this requires regular maintenance at the expense of the user.
A second solution is to use water splashes during a spin phase, but this only cleans the areas very close to the tank, in particular it is not possible to reach all areas of the drying circuit.
The present invention makes it possible to carry out an effective cleaning of the turbine while avoiding the drawbacks of the existing solutions thanks to a system of solenoid valves making it possible to direct a jet of water tangentially on the blades of the turbine which is simultaneously rotated . The dried fibers accumulated on the turbine blades and in the circuit absorb water, and their mass rises significantly. The rotation of the turbine driven by the motor allows, thanks to the centrifugal force due to the rotation of the turbine, the separation of the fibers and their evacuation with the mixed flow of water and air.
The present invention therefore relates to a device for cleaning a ventilation circuit comprising a turbine chamber, a turbine provided with blades and driven by a motor and which is characterized in that it comprises at least one opening opening into the interior of the turbine chamber and diffusing at least one jet of liquid on the turbine while the latter is rotating.
The main advantage of this device is that it does not require any additional bulky parts since it integrates perfectly with the already existing device.
The invention will be better understood and additional advantages will appear on reading the description which follows, illustrated by FIG. 1 which represents a sectional view of part of the ventilation circuit provided with the device according to one embodiment of the invention. 'invention.
A ventilation circuit can comprise, as in FIG. 1, a
For the reasons mentioned above,
Fibers that have settled in the ventilation will also take care of the water evacuated from the turbine chamber and be carried away by the air flow. For better cleaning efficiency of the ventilation circuit outside the turbine chamber, openings diffusing water jets can be fitted at various sensitive points of the circuit.
- - At first, the jets J strike only the blades of the turbine which starts to rotate "slowly", that is to say freely, in order to achieve a bubbling which aims to soak the packets well fiber,
- - and in a second step, at the end of filling, the turbine engine comes into action, which aims to put the turbine in "fast" rotation and, under the effect of centrifugal force and air flow + water, cleaning of the turbine and condenser assembly is carried out optimally.
Preferably, the water jets are directed tangentially to the turbine, that is to say in a plane perpendicular to the planes of the blades, which allows all of the surfaces of the blades to be swept by the water jets at the same time as they are driven by them at first and by the engine at a second time.
The water circuit supplying the water jets through the openings can be a circuit parallel to the washing water circuit or an independent circuit. In the latter case, a detergent additive can be added to the water for greater cleaning efficiency of the turbine.
This operation of rotating the turbine simultaneously with watering can be controlled manually by the user or automatically for a determined period at the end (or at the beginning) of each drying cycle (or of a certain number of drying cycles) or during each wash filling. In the case of automatic control, a system of valves can prevent the air-water mixture from entering the tank where the laundry is dry. On the other hand, the openings can be controlled by solenoid valves.
The present invention applies to laundry drying machines or to washing and drying machines and, more generally to all devices provided with an air ventilation system and of which automatic cleaning is essential.
