Security device for running webs, in particular for avoiding press stoppages and paper jams in rotary printing machines, having a cutting blade pivotable into the region of the web path, characterised in that the cutting blade with its holding means is an integral component of a two-part cover whose upstream guard (6; 6') in the web travel direction covers the cutting edge (8) of the downstream guard (9; 9'; 9'') towards the operating side (X), which functions as a cutting blade, and the latter guard in the cutting configuration releases a discharge gap (17; 17') towards the upstream guard (6; 6') for the cut running web (5') and is used as a guide surface for the web.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the upstream guard (6; 6') is arranged with its end adjacent to the cutting edge (8) of the downstream guard (9; 9') pivotable away from the cut running web (5').
  3. Device according to claim 2, characterised in that the upstream guard (6) is suspended on a hinge joint (7).
  4. Device according to claim 2, characterised in that the upstream guard (6') has a suspension means made of spring strip steel (18).
  5. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the downstream guard (9; 9') is constructed as a guide plate angled transversely to the web and has on its end facing the web a cutting edge (8) and on both side edges respectively a perpendicular bracket (10; 11) in which there is respectively secured an axis of rotation (13) mounted on both sides in the frame (12; 12'), and a fluid-actuated working cylinder (14) hinged on the frame (12) engages pivotably at least on one bracket (10).
  6. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the downstream guard (9') is equipped with a separate, removable cutting blade (19) protruding over its end facing the web.
  7. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the axis of rotation (13') of the downstream guard (9'') has the cross-section of a polygon (20) on one side surface of which there is secured a separate cutting blade (19') and on another side surface an extended guide plate (21) supported on the one hand in the region of the cutting edge of the cutting blade (19') and on the other hand by means of the axis of rotation (13'), and the axis of rotation (13') is in connection with a fluid-actuated working cylinder (14'; 14'') hinged on the frame.
