Nonetheless in the second embodiment the holes 120 are afforded by a plunging operation, involving an initial removal of metal from the side face of the channel-section frame member, prior to deformation of metal surrounding the centre, to provide a boss 122 in the form of a shallow, open-bottom cup, as shown.
