Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hearing aid that can be worn on the head, comprising an electrical signal path between a microphone and a receiver, the signal path being adaptable to different hearing situations / sound environments using means for electronically setting preprogrammable transmission parameters and a switching means of the hearing aid.
  • a hearing aid of the type mentioned at the outset is known from EP-B-0 064 042.
  • the signal path between the microphone and the listener is adapted to different sound environments or listening situations by means of preprogrammed transmission parameters from a switching device of the hearing device.
  • the switching means can be operated manually or can be designed as an automatically operating circuit. When the switching means is operated manually, the user of the known hearing device must remember which program is set on the hearing device.
  • the older EP-A-0 480 097 assumes that every hearing aid manufacturer offers a wide variety of hearing aids in its program. Even hearing aids with an identical housing can differ considerably from one another due to different built-in parts, such as a microphone, receiver and / or electrical amplifier circuits, due to different performance data of these built-in parts of the hearing aid.
  • the audiologist When selecting a hearing aid for a hearing impaired person, the audiologist must therefore often carry out time-consuming examinations of the hearing aids in order to be able to determine the respective hearing aid type on the basis of separate data lists from the manufacturer. On the other hand, such data lists must always be kept up to date by the manufacturer, which means a certain effort for the manufacturer. Occasionally, the data lists available at the audiologist are already out of date.
  • EP-A-0 480 097 should serve to make it easier for the audiologist and the manufacturer to determine detailed hearing device construction features.
  • EP-A-0 480 097 suggests that the hearing device manufacturer stores the hearing device construction features in a data memory of the hearing device which can later be read out from the data memory for identification of the hearing device type by the audiologist / manufacturer.
  • a remote control part with a limiter stage e.g.
  • a Schmitt trigger with an upstream high-pass filter as well as an evaluation circuit and a data decoder can be provided such that remote control signals emitted by a remote control transmitter and received by the microphone are decoded in the data decoder and fed to a memory.
  • the technical hearing aid characteristic data can be read out of the data memory, via the decoder and the handset as well as an external receiver.
  • the hearing impaired can see neither the hearing aid that can be worn on the head nor any marking of the switching position of the manually operated program selector switch on the hearing aid while the hearing aid is in use.
  • the sound environments and / or listening situations change quite frequently, however, so that the user of the hearing aid can easily forget the last selected setting.
  • the user If the user now wants to determine the selected setting of the hearing aid, he must either remove the hearing aid from the head and determine the selected program based on the marking of the switching position or first switch the signal transmission path of the hearing aid into a basic position and starting from this basic position up to the desired setting switch on. Such a procedure is very time-consuming and cumbersome. Older users of a hearing aid in particular can be overwhelmed by this.
  • the program is selected by an automatically operating circuit, the user receives no information at all via the automatically selected program or via the automatically selected transmission parameter.
  • the object of the invention is to make it easier for the hearing impaired to recognize the respectively selected transmission parameter in a hearing aid which has a switching means by means of which the hearing aid can be adapted to different hearing situations by selecting transmission parameters.
  • the switching means for setting a transmission parameter of the signal path additionally controls a signal output device which emits at least one signal which is characteristic of each electronically set transmission parameter.
  • the signal can be given in any way. It when the signal is audible by the user of the hearing aid is particularly advantageous.
  • the signal output device can be designed as an audio frequency generator, which outputs at least one electrical signal to the signal path between the microphone and the listener, which is characteristic of each electronically set transmission parameter.
  • the electrical signal emitted by the audio frequency generator reaches the ear of the hearing device user as an acoustic signal via the receiver of the hearing device.
  • the hearing aid user can perceive this acoustic signal without having to remove the hearing aid from the head.
  • the signal emitted by the audio frequency generator via the receiver can be emitted in the simplest way as a whistle. which is emitted, for example, only once for a first parameter setting, for example twice for a second parameter setting, and finally, for example n times with an identical frequency, for an nth parameter setting.
  • the switching means for program selection / parameter setting can be designed as a manually operable or as an automatically operating switching means.
  • the effect of the manually operable switching means on the signal output device and / or on the means for electronic parameter setting can be controlled via a time switch.
  • the control can take place in such a way that when the switching means is actuated for the first time within a predeterminable period of time, only the signal output device is switched on.
  • the user of the hearing aid initially receives information about the transmission parameter that has already been switched on. If the switching means is then actuated again within a predefinable period of time, a new transmission parameter is set electronically and this new setting is confirmed by emitting another signal from the signal output device.
  • the user of the hearing aid can therefore call up information about the transmission parameter just set at any time. Furthermore, when the switching means for the program selection / parameter setting is actuated again, the user receives another signal which, for example, characterizes the other transmission parameter then set and also serves as confirmation that the other parameter has actually been set. This makes incorrect operations in particular Avoidable by older users of hearing aids if the manually operable switching means for setting a hearing device parameter touches, but is nevertheless not actuated sufficiently to switch to a different signal processing program, for example.
  • the signal output device is designed as a speech generator. This enables a speech signal, e.g. emits the words "first program" through which the hearing aid of the hearing aid is made available to the user of the hearing aid as immediate information about the selected setting of the hearing aid.
  • a block diagram of a hearing device according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 comprises an electrical signal path 1 between a microphone 2 and a receiver 3.
  • the electrical signal path 1 contains all the circuit parts necessary for signal processing (not shown).
  • the electrical signal path 1 has at least one means 4 for electronically setting at least one transmission parameter, for example the volume, in the signal path 1.
  • This electronic Setting means 4 is controllable by a manually operable switching means 5 or by an automatically operating switching means 5 '.
  • the electronic setting means 4 can be preprogrammed. By actuating the manually adjustable switching means 5 or by responding (taking effect) of the automatically acting switching means 5 ', pre-programmed settings of transmission parameters in the signal transmission path 1 are then triggered in a manner known per se.
  • the manual switching means 5 or the automatic switching means 5 'additionally acts on a signal output device which is designed as a tone frequency generator 7.
  • the action can take place in such a way that when a transmission parameter is switched on, the tone frequency generator 7 e.g. is switched on briefly.
  • the tone frequency generator 7 e.g. is switched on briefly.
  • at least one electrical signal is emitted from it to the signal path 1.
  • the electrical signal is characteristic of each electronically set transmission parameter, i.e. different.
  • the user of this hearing aid according to the invention receives, via the receiver 3, unambiguous information about the transmission parameter selected and set in each case or about the selected and set signal processing program.
  • a reset circuit 8 is provided according to the invention, which also acts on the means 4 for the electronic setting of a transmission parameter and on the audio frequency generator 7. With this reset circuit 8, both the means 4 and the tone generator 7 can be switched back to a basic position (starting position).
  • a downshift advantageously takes place in particular when an on / off switch 9 of the hearing aid 6 is actuated also possible to let the reset circuit 8 trip if the switching means 5 or 5 'malfunction.
  • the hearing aid automatically returns to a basic setting of the transmission path 1 both in the event of a faulty effect and when it is switched on.
  • a counting circuit 10 is also provided, which is arranged within the operative connection between the switching means 5, which can be actuated in particular manually, and the audio frequency generator 7.
  • the switching signals emitted by the switching means 5 are counted by the counter circuit 10.
  • the audio frequency generator is then controlled as a function of the number of switching signals (counter reading) counted by the counter circuit. This makes it possible in a simple manner to assign a characteristic audio frequency signal to each switching signal output by the switching means 5.
  • a time circuit 11 can be provided in the operative connection between the manually operable switching means 5 and the means 4 for the electronic setting of a transmission parameter and the audio frequency generator 7.
  • the effect of the manually operable switching means 5 on the electronic setting means 4 and on the audio frequency generator 7 can thus also be controlled as a function of time.
  • the control can be carried out by the manually operable switching means 5 in such a way that a switch to a new transmission parameter (new program) takes place only after repeated, e.g. double, actuation of the switching means 5 takes place within a certain period of time.
  • the signal output device 7 as a speech frequency generator 12 and / or to couple it to such a speech generator. This means that the transmission parameter and / or signal processing program selected in each case can be announced immediately.
  • FIG. 2 shows a hearing device that can be worn behind the ear, on the user interface of which the on / off switch 9 and the manually operable switching means 5 are shown.
  • the switching means 5 is designed in this embodiment as a button.
  • FIG. 3 shows a hearing aid (concha device) which can be worn in the ear with a view of the faceplate which is visible from the outside.
  • This hearing aid 6 according to the invention also contains a button as switching means 5.
  • the on / off switch 9 is combined with the volume control.
