Definitions
- the invention relates to a stackable case, in particular for portable machine tools, with a box-shaped or bowl-shaped lower part, and with a lid associated with the upward opening of the lower part, wherein a vertical stacking of several suitcases is possible such that the lower part of an upper case sits on the lid of the lower case immediately below.
- a suitably trained suitcase can be found in DE-U1-86 02 551. It can be stacked vertically with other suitcases of its kind to make storage easier. Complementary protrusions and depressions ensure the stability of a stack of suitcases, which interlock with suitcases lying on top of each other. When transporting the case in batches, these fixing measures have proven to be inadequate, so that, especially in the case of an impassable transport route, falling of individual cases from the stack cannot be ruled out. Special carriage or cart-shaped transport aids are also required for transport, unless individual transport is preferred.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a stackable suitcase of the type mentioned at the outset which is suitable for transportable machine tools and which simplifies transport as such while increasing transport safety.
- connecting means are arranged on the lower part of the case, which enable a releasable connection between the lower parts of two suitcases of a stack of suitcases that are directly adjacent to one another, forming a coherent transport unit, the cover of a respective lower suitcase is fixed between the lower part of this lower case and the lower part of the upper case arranged directly above.
- stacks of suitcases can be produced with two or more suitcases arranged one above the other, which have high stability.
- the connecting means ensure a positive connection between the stacked suitcases, so that an accidental one even when the transport route is difficult falling down upper case is excluded.
- the stack of suitcases can be transported simply by grasping the uppermost suitcase, when the entire stack of suitcases can be lifted in a uniform manner. This makes the transport work considerably easier for the craftsman, since he can carry several suitcases with different machine tools at the same time with one hand.
- Stacks of suitcases of different contents can be put together, with the possibility of removing individual cases at any time if they are needed for another purpose. Since the connection between the lower parts of the suitcases sitting on top of each other takes place, the load-bearing capacity does not depend on the way in which the case covers are fastened. There is no risk of damage, even with hinges that are not very strong.
- DE-U1 -78 28 640 already discloses a case system in which suitcases stacked on top of one another can be linked together. There, however, only the uppermost one can be equipped with a lid, while the lower cases of a stack do not have their own lid and can therefore not be used as a case in the strict sense, but only as a lid-less container. A fact that can only be countered by cumbersome and space-consuming carrying of separate additional covers.
- the existing connecting means are at least partially designed at the same time as closure means with which the lid of the case, when it is not stacked or when a case stack is arranged at the top, can be releasably locked in relation to the lower part.
- closure means with which the lid of the case, when it is not stacked or when a case stack is arranged at the top, can be releasably locked in relation to the lower part.
- each case has a handle which points upwards in the stacking direction and enables the respective case to be gripped without having to set it up beforehand.
- a corresponding carrying handle is expediently located on the top of the lid and can be lowered relative to the lid surface so that the stacking process is not hindered.
- plug-in centering means complementary to one another are provided on the bottom of the lower part and on the top of the cover, which engage in one another when stacked.
- Fig. 1 two of the case 1.1 'according to the invention are shown in a stacked state.
- the stacking direction indicated according to arrow 2 is vertical. It is a case 1.1 'with an identical footprint, but the height dimensions can vary.
- the latter are usually designed as power tools, for example hand-held circular saws, jigsaws, orbital sanders, etc.
- Each case 1.1 ' has a lower part 3.3', which is box-shaped in the embodiment with a rectangular base. It has a front wall 4, a rear wall 5, two side walls 6, 7 and a bottom 8.
- the cover 9, 9 ' is pivotably articulated on the associated lower part 3, 3' about an axis running at right angles to the stacking direction 2.
- Each case can be opened by pivoting its lid 9,9 'in an open position, not shown.
- Each case 1.1 ' can be used individually. There is the advantageous possibility of combining them into a unit which can be transported in a uniform manner, as is shown in FIG. 1.
- at least two suitcases 1, 1 ' are placed on top of one another, so that a stack is formed, the lower part 3' of an upper suitcase 1 'being seated on the lid 9 of the lower suitcase 1 arranged immediately below.
- no parts of the case 1.1 'have to be removed, in particular the respective lid 9.9' can remain on the associated lower parts 3.3 '.
- a handle 19 is provided for engaging a stack of suitcases, which is expediently formed by the suitcase handle of the suitcase 1 located above. It is preferably located on the top 20 of the respective cover 9, 9 'pointing in the stacking direction 2 and can therefore be gripped easily from above. A repositioning of the case arrangement when taking up for transport is not necessary with such an arrangement.
- the carrying handle 19 of the exemplary embodiment is a folding or swivel handle. It is pivotally mounted on the cover 9, 9 'and between a position pivoted into a cover recess 21 (shown in FIG. 1) and one projecting upward, pivoted according to arrow 25 carrying position (not shown). In the carrying position, the carrying handle 19 can be comfortably gripped, while in the pivoted-in position a further case can be put on without problems, without impeding the stacking process.
- the pivot axis 26 indicated in FIG. 1 preferably runs in the longitudinal center parallel to the axis of the associated hinge 13.
- the handle 19 is advantageously a bow handle. A widening 27 of the lid recess 21 favors the gripping of the carrying handle 19 for the purpose of lifting it up.
- suitable positioning or centering means are provided on the bottom 8 of the lower part 3, 3 'and on the upper side 20 of the cover 9, 9' complementary and generally designated 28 plug-in centering means are provided which can be inserted into one another in the stacking direction. It is preferably formed on the bottom 8 and protruding elevations, which also form feet 29 for the case.
- cover recesses 30 which are in alignment in stacking direction 2.
- plug-in centering means 28, 29, 30 are preferably provided in each of the corner regions of the bottom 8 or cover 9, 9 '. In addition to simplifying the stacking process, they prevent the cases from slipping sideways.
- the case 1.1 'of the embodiment each have a plurality of connecting means 14. These are combined in individual connecting devices 31,32 and distributed along the wall circumference of the lower part 3.3', so that there is a favorable distribution of the weight forces occurring.
- two connecting devices 31 are provided on the front wall 4, each of which is arranged in the adjacent area of one of the adjoining side walls 6, 7.
- Another connecting device 32 is arranged on each side wall 6, 7, specifically in the vicinity of the rear wall 5. In this way, practically every corner area of the case 1, 1 ', seen in plan view, is associated with such a connecting device 31, 32.
- connection devices can also vary. For example, it would be possible to provide only one connecting device each on walls opposite to the stacking direction 2.
- the connecting devices 31, 32 provided in the exemplary embodiment differ in an essential detail which is yet to be explained.
- a first connecting means 15 which comes to rest at least when the connection has been made in the region of the upper side or the opening edge 33 of a respective lower part 3, 3 '.
- It is preferably designed as a tab-like folding part or pivoting part 34 which is mounted on the lower part 3, 3 'so as to be pivotable about an axis 35 extending at right angles to the stacking direction 2.
- the pivot axis 35 also expediently runs in a plane extending parallel to the associated wall 4, 6, 7.
- Another common feature of the connecting devices 31, 32 is a second connecting means 16, which in the exemplary embodiment is arranged in the region of the lower part 3, 3 'near the floor. It lies in the plane of the pivoting movement of the respectively assigned pivoting part 34.
- This makes it possible, in the stacked state of two suitcases 1, 1 ', the respective first connecting means 15, 34 of the lower case 1 with the second connecting means 16 of the attached one arranged in vertical alignment thereabove Case 1 'releasably to couple.
- the corresponding position is referred to below as the coupling position.
- the coupling position is achieved by pivoting the second connecting means 16, which is designed as a pivoting part 34, upward about the axis 35 from a previously assumed decoupled release position.
- this pivoting movement must be carried out in the opposite direction.
- the second connecting means 16 formed in the exemplary embodiment by, for example, rib-like projections 36 are engaged behind by bracket-like holding parts 37 of the respectively assigned pivot part 34.
- a resistance is preferably to be overcome, which is formed, for example, by a particularly flexible latching projection (not shown), so that the swiveling part 34 does not swivel back into the release position automatically.
- the connecting devices 31 arranged on the front side have an additional third connecting means 17, which is preferably also designed as a projection 36. It is attached to the cover 9.9 'and is in vertical alignment with the second connecting means 15. With its help, the cover 9, which is located between two lower parts 3, 3', can additionally be fixed on the lower lower part 3, in that the first Connecting means 15 in the coupling position is also automatically coupled to this third connecting means 17.
- the third connecting means 17 is in this case engaged on the upper side pointing in the stacking direction 2 by a holding part 37 'of the first connecting means 15, which itself is articulated below the coupled second and third connecting means 16, 17 on the lower part 3, 3'.
- the aforementioned third connecting means 17 has another function in the exemplary embodiment. It is also a closure means 38, which serves to releasably fix the lid 9 'of a non-stacked or a case 1 arranged at the top of a suitcase stack in the closed position shown in Fig. 1 on the associated lower part 3'.
- a closure means 38 which serves to releasably fix the lid 9 'of a non-stacked or a case 1 arranged at the top of a suitcase stack in the closed position shown in Fig. 1 on the associated lower part 3'.
- a further complementary locking means 39 which is supported on the lower part 3 ', the already existing first connecting means 15 is used. The mechanism for moving from a release position into the corresponding locking position is the same as when establishing a coupling connection.
- this pivoting part 34 is arranged on the lower part 3' in the stacking direction 2, that is to say in the exemplary embodiment in the vertical direction up and down.
- Characterized the third connecting means 17 is engaged in the coupling position by the second holding part 37 ', while it is held in the closed position with the pivoting part 34 lowered by the first holding part 37.
- the first connecting means 15 is adjustable between a coupling position between two suitcases 1, 1 ', the raised position and a locking position for fixing the cover 9' relative to the associated lower part 3 ', the lowered position.
- the third connecting means 17 or the locking means 38 can be omitted.
- the construction variant realized in the lateral connecting devices 32 then results.
- components acting as a closure means can be dispensed with, since the hinge 13 fulfills the required holding function.
- An arrangement is therefore obtained in which the first connecting means 15 can be coupled without connecting the cover 9 arranged therebetween to the second connecting means 16 of the lower part 3 'arranged above it and presses it downward.
- a further fourth connecting means 18 can be arranged on the associated lower part 3, 3' in the exemplary embodiment. In the coupling position, it works with the assigned first connecting means 15 by engaging the fourth connecting means 18 from below with a third holding part 37 ⁇ .
- the fourth connecting means 18 is also preferably designed as a projection 36.
- the first connecting means 15 is consequently supported with its first and third holding parts 37, 37 ⁇ on mutually vertically opposite sides of the second and fourth connecting means 16, 18, so that the load occurring when the stack of suitcases is lifted exclusively from the correspondingly designed structure of the first connecting means 15 is received without damaging the pivot bearing.
- the fourth connecting means 18 acts in a correspondingly force-absorbing manner as a closure means if only a cover 9 'is to be fixed on the associated lower part 3'.
- the first holding part 37 acts from above on the cover-side closure means 38, while the second holding part 37 'presses against the closure means 40 formed by the fourth connecting means 18 from below.
- the swivel parts 34 have two window-like openings 44, 45 which follow one another in the stacking direction when viewed in the stacking direction.
- the pivoting part 34 as can also be seen in FIGS. 3 to 6, can be pivoted in via the projections 36, so that the latter protrude into the openings 44, 45.
- the three brackets or webs 46 delimiting the openings 44, 45 form the three holding parts 37, 37 ', 37'.
- the distances are such that two of the projection-like Connection means can be expediently received by an opening 44, 45 under prestress.
- the swivel part 34 has in the region of the holding part 37 ⁇ two axial projections 49 arranged on opposite longitudinal sides and defining the swivel axis 35, each of which engages in a longitudinal groove 50 formed on the lower part 3, 3 '.
- the longitudinal grooves 50 face each other with their open side and run parallel in the height direction of the case 1,1 'and thus in the stacking direction 2.
- the pivoting part 34 is pivotally received via its axial projections 49 in the longitudinal grooves 50 and at the same time adjustable along these in the height direction.
- the axial projections 49 By suitable shaping of the axial projections 49, the possibility of displacement along the longitudinal grooves 50 can be deliberately hindered, so that a certain resistance has to be overcome for the displacement.
- An oblique course of the end faces of the axial projections 49 has proven to be a suitable shape.
- the longitudinal grooves 50 are preferably formed in the lateral edge surfaces of groove-like depressions 52 which extend in the respective wall 4, 6, 7 in the stacking direction 2 and each receive the connecting means 15-18.
- the entire connecting means therefore come to rest and are protected from damage. In addition, this results in an optimal lateral guidance during the longitudinal displacement of the first connecting means 15.
- FIG. 3 A single case 1 is shown in FIG. 3 and can be parked at any location.
- the lid 9 is held in the closed position covering the case opening 51.
- the swivel part 34 is in a lowered position and at the same time assumes the closed position in which the third and fourth connecting means 17, 18 are clamped together by the swivel part 34. They protrude into the upper opening 44 of the swivel part 34.
- the lid 9 is locked in the closed position.
- the pivoting part 34 is pivoted according to arrow 42' about its pivot axis 35 with an upward-pointing section from the closed position into a release position releasing the connecting means 17, 18. It protrudes from the longitudinal recess 52. This situation is shown in Fig. 4.
- the pivot part 34 is moved according to arrow 48 'along the longitudinal grooves 50 upwards into a raised position, approximately until the lower web 46 comes to rest on the underside of the fourth connecting means 18.
- the pivoting part 34 is then pivoted back according to arrow 47 ⁇ from the release position previously assumed to the coupling position, which is shown in FIG. 6.
- the second connecting means 16 of the upper lower part 3 ' is encompassed by the upper web 46 of the leg part 34 above, while at the same time the central web 46 presses against the third connecting means 17 from above.
- the upper lower part 3 ' is predominantly braced with the lower lower part 3 in the stacking direction 2, and at the same time a pressing of the cover 9 in between can take place against the lower lower part 3.
- the swivel part 34 comes to lie sunk within the longitudinal recess 52.
- the lower part 3 has a transport recess 54 in the region of the opening edge 33 on side walls 7, 8 transversely to the stacking direction 2, the contour of which is at least in the cross-sectional contour of the additional part to be accommodated essentially corresponds.
- the additional part (not shown in more detail) can now be inserted in order to hold it against the lower part 3 by the cover moved into the closed position.
- the dimensions of the transport recess 54 are preferably matched to those of the additional part in such a way that a certain clamping effect occurs which secures the additional part against unintentional displacement.
- the transport recess 54 can also be wholly or partially formed in the lid area adjacent to the opening edge 53. It is also possible to mark the transport recess only ex works and possibly to identify them by perforations or the like, so that the user can break out the transport recess 54 if necessary.
