Definitions

  • the invention relates to an actuating device for the drain valve of a cistern according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • An actuator of the type mentioned is known from the applicant's CH-A-665 865.
  • This has a rocker button mounted in the cistern, which can be swiveled by hand to trigger the flushing process. If necessary, the flushing can be interrupted before the cistern is completely emptied by swiveling the rocker button back.
  • the operation of the actuating device is thus very simple and at the same time draining water consumption can be drastically reduced.
  • such an actuating device can be implemented inexpensively with comparatively few and robust components.
  • the actuator Actuating device is also suitable for the drain valve of concealed cisterns, as shown in CH-A-651 341.
  • the force reduction and the path reduction increase.
  • the increase in the step-down ratio means that the key drop becomes smaller without the need to change the drain valve.
  • the force reduction has the consequence that the flushing can be triggered with less pressure on the button.
  • the comparatively high load of the valve body on the two-armed lever at the beginning of a flushing, caused by the pressure of the flushing water on the valve plate, can thus be overcome with less effort. If the flushing is interrupted, it is then possible to bring the valve body into the closed position even with little effort. The operation is therefore more user-friendly even when there is an interruption.
  • the smaller stroke has the main advantage that the button protrudes less on the top of the cistern lid in the two end positions or is sunk less.
  • the actuating device according to the invention is therefore more user-friendly than the known devices of this type, despite the more compact design with the same number of individual parts. Due to the more compact design of the actuating device, the inlet and the outlet valve are more accessible for adjustment and revision work.
  • the lever is mounted such that it can roll on a rolling curve of the frame without sliding.
  • a bearing can be manufactured inexpensively with plastic parts and is very robust and maintenance-free.
  • a structurally particularly advantageous guidance of the lever is achieved according to a development of the invention in that upstream and downstream of the rolling curve of the frame, upward sliding surfaces are connected, to which the lever is guided in a form-fitting manner.
  • the bearing and the guidance of the lever can then be realized by a heart-shaped cut-out of the frame. If the heart-shaped cutout is open at the top, the lever can be inserted into the cutout from above, which results in a particularly simple and reliable connection.
  • the actuating device has a holder 3, which is preferably detachably connected to a front wall 1a and a rear wall 1b of a cistern body 1.
  • An upwardly projecting bearing part 3a for a rocker button 4 is formed on the holder 3.
  • Two bearing pins 3b formed on the bearing part 3a engage in bearing slots 4b of the rocker button 4.
  • the top 4a of the rocker button 4 is inclined according to FIG. 2 and is flush with the top 2a of a cistern lid 2, which has an opening 2b for the button 4.
  • a float valve is arranged in the cistern, of which only the upper part of the valve body 8 is shown here.
  • the float valve is a drain valve known per se and the valve body 8 is generally also an overflow pipe.
  • the valve body 8 is raised by pivoting the rocker switch 4. The initial force required for this is comparatively high since the valve body 8 is pressed onto the valve seat by the pressure of the flushing water.
  • An eyelet 8a is integrally formed in the upper end of the valve body 8, into which a peg-shaped driver 6b of a lever 6 engages. Another peg-shaped driver 6a of the lever 6 is inserted into a guide slot 4d of the button 4 which is open at the front.
  • the lever 6 is mounted in a frame 7 which is supported on the holder 3.
  • the lever 6 and the frame 7 form a gear, which converts pivoting movements of the button 4 into vertical movements of the valve body 8. If the button 4 is pivoted at the point and in the direction of arrow 5, the valve body 8 is raised and the drain valve is thus opened. If the button 4 is released, the valve body 8 falls back onto the valve seat after the cistern has been completely emptied and, via the lever 6, the button 4 falls back into the rest position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. If the rocker switch 4 at the upper end in the direction of arrow 9 is pressed into said rest position before the cistern is completely emptied, the valve body is moved down again via the lever 6 and the drain valve is closed. In this way, the flushing process can be interrupted prematurely if the entire amount of flushing water is not required.
  • the lever 6 is preferably made from a single piece of suitable plastic and has between the drivers 6a and 6b two parallel guide parts 6c running transversely to the axis of rotation and an engagement part 6d between them.
  • the lever 6 is mounted in a cutout 7c of the frame 7 which is open at the top.
  • the bearing is a roller bearing in which the engagement part 6d without slide on an upwardly curved pitch curve 7b of the frame 7 rolls.
  • the pitch curve 7c of the driver part 6d is preferably straight.
  • the frame 7 Before and after the rolling curve 7b, the frame 7 has upwardly extending guide cutouts 7a, on which the engaging part 6d is slidably guided.
  • FIG. 3a shows the lever 6 with the drain valve closed.
  • the approximate point of engagement of the driver 6a is designated by C, that of the driver 6b by A and the contact point of the lever 6 by B.
  • the distance between points B and C is considerably greater than the distance between points A and B.
  • FIG. 3c shows the lever 6 in a position in which the valve body 8 is raised about half.
  • the bearing point B ' is located approximately in the middle of the pitch curve 7b.
  • FIG. 3 shows the position of the lever 6 with the valve body 8 fully raised.
  • the pivot point B ⁇ is now at the right end of the rolling curve 7b.
  • the weight distribution is selected so that in the view according to FIG. 2 there is a torque counterclockwise with respect to the axis 3b. This can be achieved, for example, by a correspondingly large or massive design of a rear region 3e. A play of the driver 6b in the eyelet 8a thus has no influence on the rest position of the button 4.
