Abstract

A drop-frame urban rapid transit car includes passenger cells and travelling mechanism parts having a running gear, which are connected to one another at end surfaces by joint parts. The travelling mechanism parts disposed at ends of the car receive an engineer's cab. The object of the invention was to develop the drop-frame urban rapid transit car in a way which ensured the best possible utilization of the enveloping space and the best possible utilization of the available base area, a concept which makes it possible to construct a vehicle meeting the requirements of a modern urban rapid transit car, and at the same time with the most advantageous utilization of the necessary production devices, a minimum of different structural parts and a simple assembly. The object was achieved by providing that the passenger cell, the travelling mechanism part, the joint part and the engineer's cab be constructed as modules, and that each respective travelling mechanism module, joint module, passenger module and head module always have the same structure and be interchangeable independently of their location in the car.

Hierdurch bedingt sind auch die Inneneinrichtung und die Innenausrüstung der einzelnen Fahrgastzellen unterschiedlich und für eine rationelle Fertigung ungeeignet. Durch die erfindungsgemäße Ausbildung des Niederflur-Stadtbahnwagens mit der Anordnung von regelmäßig wiederkehrenden in sich baugleichen Modulen wird bei geschickter Anordnung der einzelnen Module die Zusammensetzung von beliebigen Fahrzeugsystemen ermöglicht. Die einzelnen Module sind jeweils gesondert als Konstruktionsmodule aufgebaut und somit für alle denkbaren Anforderungen ausrüstbar. Änderungen innerhalb eines Moduls beeinflussen nicht das Gesamtsystem, da die einzelnen Module stets wiederkehrend gleiche Bauteilenden aufweisen und stets in der gleichen Form mit den Nachbarmodulen verbindbar sind. Die weiteren Vorteile der erfindungsgemäßen Ausführung bestehen darin, daß eine optimale Nutzung des Hüllraumes sowohl in der Geraden, als auch im Bogeneinlauf, im S-Bogen und im Bogen möglich ist. Die Optimierung der Wagenbreite über die gesamte Fahrzeuglänge ist durch entsprechende Kombination von Modulen möglich. Drop-frame metropolitan railway carriage according to Claim 1, characterised in that, in a unidirectional vehicle, the interior fittings (seats) in the chassis modules (1) and passenger modules (3) are in each case of identical design and one head module (4) is equipped with the driver's station and one head module (4) respectively with seats or standing places.
4. Drop-frame metropolitan railway carriage according to Claim 1, characterised in that the front ends, to be connected to one another, of the individual modules (chassis module 1, joint module 2, passenger module 3 and head module 4) are in each case of identical design.
5. Drop-frame metropolitan railway carriage according to Claim 1, characterised in that the constructional, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment of the respective modules (chassis module 1, joint module 2, passenger module 3 and head module 4) is always identical.
