In this case, however, it may be necessary to take care to avoid making the apparatus bulky in the vertical direction.
  • the wheel table 1 is shown in an integral construction in Fig. 3, the upper portion thereof supporting the wheel may be separable from its main body, which can provide for wheels and tires of various sizes.
  • the tire is arranged on the wheel located on the wheel table 1 and then the wheel table is rotated to arrange the tire bead portions around the rim of the wheel. Therefore, it is possible to assemble the tire on the wheel without exerting any excessive force onto the bead portion so that there is no risk of damage to the bead portions and wheel in assembling according to the invention.
  • the bead portions can be progressively brought into close contact with the bead seats of the wheel with the aid of the inclined portion 3a of the outer cylinder member 3. Therefore, high pressure is not needed so that the bead portions are not fitted in a deformed state on the rims of the wheel. Particularly, even with tires collapsed due to being piled up, they can be assembled on wheels and filled with inner pressure with great certainty.
  • the tire is maintained with the inner pressure higher than the normal inner pressure by supplying the pressurized air through the inflation valve of the wheel W, with the result that even if the bead portions of the tire are not completely uniformly fitted on the wheel, they are brought into uniform contact with the bead seats of the wheel along all the circumferences of the bead portions.
  • the apparatus according to the invention is able to fill the inner pressure into the tire in the state immediately after having been assembled around the wheel, so that the operations for assembling and inner pressure filling can be effected in a very short time without requiring a wide space occupied by more than one apparatus.
  • the invention enables the apparatus for this purpose to be simplified in construction, and hence be compact and easy to maintain and rugged and durable in use.
  • Fig. 15a The results are shown in Fig. 15a in comparison with the results illustrated in Fig. 15b for tires which were assembled on wheels and filled with inner pressures according to the prior art. Referring to Figs. 15a and 15b, it is clear that the roundness of the tires assembled on the rims according to the invention are greatly improved compared with those of the tires assembled by the prior art.
  • a tire can be assembled on a wheel and filled with inner pressure simply and rapidly without damaging the bead portions of the tire and the wheel.
  • the apparatus according to the invention is simple and compact in construction without requiring a wide space and is inexpensive to manufacture and easy to maintain. This apparatus is particularly very useful as a garage type apparatus for assembling a tire and a wheel and filling inner pressure into the tire.

Claims (4)

  1. Verfahren zum Montieren eines Reifens (T) auf einer Felge (W), und zum Aufblasen des Reifens, das die folgenden Schritte aufweist : Die Felge, deren eine Stirnfläche luftdicht festgehalten wird, wird auf einem Felgentisch (1) festgehalten und befestigt, der Reifen wird auf der von dem Felgentisch weg gerichteten, freien Stirnfläche der Felge so angeordnet, daß ein Teil von einem der Wulstbereiche des Reifens um den Rand der Felge herum oder in einer Vertiefung der Felge lose angeordnet ist, eine Klaue (4a) des Reifenmontagemittels (4) wird zwischen der Felge und dem einen Wulstbereich des Reifens angeordnet, die Klaue oder der Felgentisch mit der darauf angebrachten Felge wird relativ zu der anderen Komponente gedreht, um die Klaue längs des Umfangs der Felge relativ zu bewegen, und zwar so, daß die Wulstbereiche des Reifens in progressiver Weise radial nach außen expandiert werden, um sie längs ihres ganzen Umfangs um den Rand der Felge herum anzuordnen, ein ringförmiges, äußeres Zylinderelement (3), das zu dem Reifen hin ausfahrbar und von dem Reifen weg einfahrbar ist, und an seinem vorderen Ende einen geneigten Bereich (3a) aufweist, um den Reifen aufzublasen, wird gegen den einen, um den Rand der Reifens herum angeordneten Wulstbereich des Reifens geschoben, um einen Zwischenraum zwischen der Felge und dem Wulstbereich zu bilden, über den Zwischenraum zwischen der Felge und dem Wulstbereich wird Druckluft in das Innere des Reifens gegeben, das äußere, zylindrische Element (3) wird aus dieser Position in progressiver Weise von dem Reifen zurückgezogen, um die Wulstbereiche in enge Berührung mit den Wulstsitzen der Felge zu bringen, und über das Aufblasventil der Felge wird Druckluft in den Reifen eingeblasen, um den Innendruck des Reifens über dem normalen Druck zu halten, und der Innendruck des Reifens wird auf den normalen Druck abgesenkt.
  2. Vorrichtung zum Montieren eines Reifens (T) auf einer Felge (W), und zum Aufblasen des Reifens, mit einem Felgentisch (1), um darauf die Felge anzuordnen, auf der der Reifen montiert wird, einem Befestigungsmittel (2), um die Felge, deren eine Stirnfläche luftdicht festgehalten wird, auf dem Felgentisch festzuhalten und zu befestigen, einem ringförmigen, äußeren Zylinderelement (3), das vertikal verschiebbar ist und den Felgentisch umgibt, um Zwischenräume zwischen dem Felgentisch und dem äußeren Zylinderelement und zwischen der Felge und einem der Wulstbereiche des Reifens zu bilden, über die Druckluft in den Reifen gegeben wird, wobei das äußere Zylinderelement (3) an seinem Ende einen geneigten Bereich (3a) hat, um den einen Wulstbereich zu berühren und zu dem anderen Wulstbereich hin zu drücken, einem Reifenmontagemittel (4), das eine Klaue (4a) hat, um die Wulstbereiche des Reifens in progressiver Weise um den Rand der auf dem Felgentisch festgehaltenen und befestigten Felge herum anzuordnen, wobei das Reifenmontagemittel (4) ein Bewegungsmittel (4a-4e) hat, um die Klaue (4a) im wesentlichen in der vertikalen und horizontalen Richtung zu bewegen, und ein Lufteinblasmittel (5) hat, um über ein Einblasventil der Felge Druckluft einzublasen, und wobei der Felgentisch (1) ein Rotationsmittel hat, um die Klaue, oder den Felgentisch mit der darauf angebrachten Felge zu drehen.
  3. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Befestigungsmittel (2) aufweist: einen Konus (2a), der einen konusförmigen Bereich hat, der in die Nabenöffnung (W₁) der Felge (W) und eine Durchgangsöffnung (h) in der Mitte eingesetzt wird, einen Befestigungsstab (2d), der in die Durchgangsöffnung des Konus eingeschoben wird und an seinem vorderen Ende einen eingreifenden Bereich (2b) und an seinem hinteren Ende einen Anschlag (2c) hat, der den Konus berührt, und einen Block (2g), der durch ein Lager (2f) drehbar festgehalten wird, das auf dem Betätigungsende eines Zylinders (2e) angebracht ist, der auf einem Rahmen des Felgentischs angeordnet ist, wobei der Block (2g) Verankerungsteile (2i) hat, die mit dem Block schwenkbar verbunden sind, um den eingreifenden Bereich (2b) des in die Durchgangsöffnung (h) des Konus eingeschobenen Befestigungsstabs (2d) zu umschließen.
  4. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Bewegungsmittel des Reifenmontagemittels (4) aufweist : einen vertikalen Arm (4b), um die Klaue (4a) zu halten, einen ersten Zylinder (4c), um den vertikalen Arm (4b) zusammen mit der Klaue vertikal zu verschieben, einen zweiten Zylinder (4e), um den ersten Zylinder (4c) zusammen mit der Klaue horizontal zu verschieben, und einen neigbaren Arm (4d), um den zweiten Zylinder (4e) zu halten.
