Description

The invention relates to a web-shaped woven cover fabric, which is intended in particular for vehicle seats such as automobile seats and which has a base fabric formed from warp threads and weft threads, possibly pile threads embedded in the base fabric and a cushion layer arranged on the back of the base fabric.

It is currently common to manufacture upholstery fabrics for the automotive industry from different raw materials. The fabric can be woven from yarns or threads of different materials. To fix the back, an appliqué made of yet another material is applied or a foam of different thickness is laminated on, which in turn is covered by a chamois material in order to prevent the foam from being rubbed off. This laminated foam layer serves as an additional fine cushion so that the uppermost layers of an automobile seat appear soft over the harder basic padding.

Such upholstery materials used today in automotive engineering are not only multi-layered, but also consist of different materials and predominantly different plastics, so that they cannot be recycled or disposed of cleanly because the different materials of the upholstery materials are not economically separated from one another and then used again can be. In the future, however, components will be promoted in automotive engineering whose materials can be reused or recycled.

The invention has for its object to provide a fabric that is suitable for example for vehicle seats and in all can be made from one material and also shows a certain cushioning effect.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a cover fabric of the type mentioned, which has the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

According to the invention, a cover fabric is proposed which can be produced uniformly from one material, for example from yarns, and indeed also of different construction, but of a uniform material, the cover fabric preferably being a fabric. A coating provided on the back, which is intended to have a cushioning effect or a spring effect, consists, like the front or top of the cover fabric, of fabric, the cover fabric preferably being a two-layer spacer fabric, the gaps of which are filled with elements which produce a cushioning effect. These elements are preferably additional weft threads that are voluminous and can also be elastic. No foam is required to achieve the desired strength and cushioning or spring action, so that all parts of the cover fabric of the invention can be made from yarns of uniform material.

The material of such a cover material can be reused or disposed of cleanly since it is not necessary to separate different materials. Such a cover material is therefore recyclable.

Although the invention is described here with reference to a web-shaped woven cover fabric which has pile threads or a fiber pile forming its surface, the invention is not restricted to pile fabrics or pile fabrics which have the most complicated structure among the textile fabrics. Rather, the invention is also applicable to such cover fabrics in which the top or outside is a flat weave, a Raschel knitted fabric or some other textile material.

If the base fabric is a pile fabric, this is preferably woven in 3/6 weft weave. In this basic fabric, which is expediently particularly dense and therefore particularly strong, the pile threads are preferably bound in a W bond. The spaced-apart backing fabric is connected to the backing fabric by spacing threads that are integrated into both the base fabric and the backing fabric. In the space remaining between the two fabrics, more or less voluminous threads are inserted as filling wefts depending on the requirements for the strength of the upholstery or the suspension.

The cover fabric according to the invention is preferably produced on a double plush weaving machine. After cutting the pole and thus separating the upper and lower parts, you get a cushioning cover fabric with integrated back padding. The whole is made of one material, e.g. B. made of polyester. However, other materials such as polyamide, polypropylene or polyacrylic are also conceivable. In any case, the entire fabric always consists of only one material, so that the cover fabric, when it is no longer needed, can be easily disposed of, for example melted, in order to reuse its material.

The filling sections are preferably voluminous and consist, for example, of textured thread material. The number of filling shots entered determines the cushioning effect or the suspension of the spacer fabric according to the invention.

The whole construction is designed in such a way that the base fabric can also be worked with stretch yarn, so that the whole cover fabric is elastic. In this case too, all parts or threads of the woven cover fabric are made of the same material.

The base fabric of the spacer fabric according to the invention can be a pile fabric or also flat fabric. The backing fabric is best always a flat fabric. However, the invention can also be applied to Raschel goods, the shots being entered in accordance with the Raschel machine used.

a cover fabric produced on a flat weaving machine with shaft and jacquard control.

The flat fabric 20 shown in FIG. 2 has a useful fabric 21 forming the top or front and a protective fabric 22 forming the back.

Both the useful fabric 21 forming the upper side and the protective fabric 22 forming the back each consist of warp threads 23 and weft threads 24 running perpendicular to them, which, as FIG. 2 shows, run perpendicular to one another and are connected to one another in plain weave.

As FIG. 2 shows, the weft threads 24 are arranged much closer to one another in the useful fabric 21 forming the upper side of the flat fabric than in the protective fabric 22. In the embodiment shown, the thread density or the mutual spacing of the weft threads 24 running parallel to one another in the useful fabric 21 is half as large as the thread density or the spacing of the weft threads 24 of the protective fabric 22 running next to one another, so that the useful fabric 21 has a higher stability than the protective fabric 22. This is due, at least in part, to the fact that the useful fabric 21 can be patterned using the jacquard technique.

Der in Figur 2 im übertriebenen Maßstab dargestellte Zwischenraum zwischen Nutzgewebe 21 und Schutzgwebe 22 ist durch Füllschüsse 26 ausgefüllt, um dem sogenannten Flachgewebe eine Art dreidimensionale Konfiguration zu verleihen, jedoch ist das Gewebe insgesamt kompakt und damit als Flachgewebe anzusprechen.FIG. 2 also shows that the useful fabric 21 forming the upper side and the protective fabric 22 forming the lower side of the flat fabric are connected by reciprocating binding threads 25 to form a fabric to be considered as a flat fabric. The one in FIG The space between the useful fabric 21 and the protective fabric 22, shown on an exaggerated scale, is filled by filling sections 26 in order to give the so-called flat fabric a kind of three-dimensional configuration, but the fabric as a whole is compact and can therefore be addressed as a flat fabric.

The web-shaped woven fabric 1 shown in FIG. 1 is a pile fabric produced on a double plush weaving machine with an upper unit 2 and a lower unit 3. Upper unit 2 and lower unit 3 are each identical and designed as spacer fabrics, as described in detail below. Both plants are connected to each other by means of reciprocating pile threads 4, which are separated or cut open at the end of the weaving process by a fixed knife 5 or in order to separate the upper and lower sections from one another, so that two web-shaped cover materials each formed as pile fabric result.

Both the upper unit 2 and the lower unit 3 each have a base fabric 6 and a back fabric 7 arranged at a distance therefrom on the rear side thereof. The base fabric 6 consists of warp threads 8 running in the longitudinal direction and weft threads 9 running transversely thereto, which are connected to one another in the usual weaving technique.

The backing fabric 7 also consists of warp threads 10 running in the longitudinal direction and bound weft threads 11 running transversely thereto. The backing fabric 7 is made lighter and looser than the densely woven base fabric 6. The base fabric 6 can also consist of firmer or thicker threads 8, 9 than the back fabric 7.

The pile threads 4 are in the illustrated embodiment in the two base fabrics 6 of the upper and lower units W-shaped, as shown in the drawing. As a result, not only is a firm integration of the pile threads 4 the base fabric 6 achieved, but this integration also solidifies and stabilizes the base fabric.

Both in the upper section 2 and in the lower section 3, the base fabric 6 and the back fabric 7 are at a distance from one another, but parallel arranged so that there is a space 12 between them. The base fabric 6 and the back fabric 7 are connected to one another by means of back and forth woven threads 13, which are integrated in a V-shape in the two fabrics in the illustrated embodiment and which are not cut open after the fabric has been finished.

Both in the upper 2 and in the lower 3 filler wefts 14 are entered into the space 12 between the base fabric 6 and the back fabric 7 between the back and forth threads 13, which consist of thread material and preferably of voluminous thread material such as textured thread material. The filling sections 14 keep the base fabric 6 and the back fabric 7 at a distance from one another. The number of filling shots 14 entered and their volume determine the cushioning effect or spring action of the spacer fabric of the upper structure 2 and also of the lower structure 3.
