Definitions

  • the invention relates to a ski in which a shell of preferably elasto eres plastic is molded onto a raw ski, preferably consisting of belt layers, core, outsole and optionally steel edges, on its top and its side surfaces.
  • Such a construction for skis is known, the casing being usually molded in one piece onto the raw ski, in a form in which the raw ski is inserted, after which, after the mold has been closed, the material of the casing under pressure in the remaining, the shell corresponding cavity is introduced.
  • a preferred embodiment of this process is the RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) process, by means of which polyurethane or its components, isocyanate and polyol, which are mixed with one another and with a dye in the spray head, are injected into the mold cavity. Usually pressures (in the mold cavity) of 2 to 15 bar are used. If, as is preferred, the result is to be an elastomeric polyurethane shell, this can be achieved by selecting and adjusting the components of the polyurethane.
  • the object of the invention is to ski the aforementioned
  • At least parts of the core consist of foam material which is porous at least in the edge zone facing the shell, and in that the plastic material of the shell the foam material of the core or individual core parts at least in the shell facing edge zones of the core or penetrates the core parts.
  • the porosity exerting a surface-enlarging and thus strengthening effect, in particular also a clinging of the shell material and foam in the core .
  • This leads to the desired improved connection between the shell and the core and good transmission of the damping effect of the shell to the core.
  • there is an accumulation of the material of the shell in the core most particularly in the middle area of the ski, where the overall height of the skis is greatest.
  • the foam material of the core can preferably consist of a polyurethane foam-glass fiber composite material with an isotropic structure and a porous structure at least in the edge zones.
  • the glass fiber portion can be made from a glass fleece, e.g. be formed with a basis weight of approx. 200 g / m. Instead of glass fibers, another reinforcing material can also be used. The use of unreinforced, at least partially porous foams is also conceivable.
  • the at least partially porous foam material may preferably have an open-cell or a mixed-cell structure or in some other way porous, i.e. be more or less permeable to the (liquid) plastic material of the shell.
  • the entire core from at least partially porous, possibly reinforced foam or only parts of the core, in particular separate side parts.
  • the casing preferably consists of an elastomeric plastic, for example polyurethane, the plastic of the casing being molded onto the raw ski preferably according to the RIM process mentioned at the beginning.
  • an elastomeric plastic for example polyurethane
  • Fig. 1 shows one half of a ski cross section of an alpine ski
  • Fig. 2 shows one half of a ski cross section e.g. a cross-country ski.
  • the ski shown in cross-section consists of the upper flange 1 made of light metal, the lower flange with a light metal layer 2 and an additional belt layer 2 'made of glass fiber laminate, the core with a middle part 3 made of wood and side parts 3' made of at least the cover 6 facing edge zone of porous foam, for example made of polyurethane glass fiber composite foam, preferably with a density of about 0.1 to about 0.3 or 0.5 g / cm 3 .
  • Steel edges 4 and the outsole 5, for example made of polyethylene, complete the components of the raw ski, which after its gluing is placed in a mold and shaped with a cover 6 made of elastomeric plastic, for example polyurethane, preferably using the RIM process.
  • the pressures of the still liquid shell material prevailing in the mold cavity during this process it penetrates more or less deeply into the at least partially porous foam material of the side parts 3 'of the core.
  • the sleeve 6 is a one-piece sleeve which forms the side cheeks and the ski surface.
  • a case in which the side cheeks and the ski surface are separated would also be less practical, but conceivable.
  • only the side parts 3 * of the core are formed from at least partially porous foam material.
  • Other core parts or the entire core can also consist of such a foam material, into which the still liquid plastic material of the shell then penetrates when the shell (or its parts) is molded on.
  • the invention can be used both in alpine skis, for example in accordance with the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, but also in other ski types, for example in cross-country skis, jump skis, firing gliders, water skis, etc., the structure of the raw skis being formed appropriately for the type of ski concerned.
  • the steel edges required for alpine skis are unnecessary, possibly even one or the other belt layer.
  • the load-bearing components can be integrated in the "core", which according to the invention probably consists of porous foam material at its edge zones facing the shell, but can also contain other materials.
  • the central ski body is formed by a core 3 "made of porous, open-cell foam, in which load-bearing parts in the form of rods 7 made of synthetic resin-bonded roving strands made of glass fibers or the like are inserted.
  • the core 3" On its underside, the core 3" carries an outsole 5 made of plastic , which is connected to the core 3 ′′ before or after the shell 6 is molded on.
  • the raw ski (core 3 ′′, rods 7 and optionally outsole 5) is now inserted into a mold and in the shape already in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 described manner with a sheath 6 made of preferably elastomeric plastic, the sheath material penetrating into the pores of the foam material of the core 3 ", in the case of FIG. 2 not only on the side surfaces of the core 3" but partly ⁇ as well on the top of the core 3 "(between and next to the supporting rods 7).
