Definitions

  • Containers In addition to the ISO containers commonly used in international traffic, with external dimensions between 10 'and 40' (around 3 m and 12 m) in length and 8 '(around 2.4 m) in width, small and medium-sized are also increasingly being used Containers, especially tank containers, are used. These generally have the problem that, because of their dimensions and equipment, they cannot be combined with ISO loading units or handled or fixed by means of handling equipment and locking devices provided for ISO containers. In addition, there are often customer-specific handling and locking requirements for medium and small containers.
  • a tank container with the features specified in the first part of claim 1 is known from DE-U-8 807 264. There are also pockets on the floor assembly to form two pairs of forklift channels running perpendicular to each other.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a tank container that allows versatile handling and locking with an uncomplicated design.
  • two perpendicular pairs of forklift truck channels are provided in a particularly uncomplicated manner by means of minimal weight in the bottom group of the tank container. This results in the possibility of handling the tank container in the longitudinal and transverse directions by means of a forklift, which is particularly desirable for medium and small containers with an essentially square base.
  • a further embodiment of the invention consists in the formation of locking plates arranged on the underside of the container end frames with openings for selective engagement of locking elements.
  • the tank container With the selected distance between the locking plates provided on both end frames, the tank container can be fixed to two pairs of locking elements, which are usually provided on the loading areas of ISO railroad carriages and road chassis and have a mutual distance of 280 mm.
  • the existing plurality of openings at mutual distances of 140 mm each results in several possible fixing positions and therefore enables optimal use of the available loading area.
  • the locking plates for protecting the tank form the most protruding parts of the entire structure, including any parts arranged on the tank, which, according to claim 8, are tipping trough cams attached to the tank jacket. Since the locking plates extend about half the width of the container, there is a maximum number of possible fixing positions, taking into account the two positions of the container rotated by 180 °.
  • Claim 9 in the integration of a gripping edge design provided in the upper region of each container end frame with a reinforced eyelet provided in a guide plate for engaging a crane hook, claims 10 and 11 indicating possibilities of stiffening these components together in a weight-saving manner.
  • the tank container shown in the drawings comprises a tank 10 which is connected to two end frames 12 via end rings 11.
  • Each end frame 12 is constructed from two corner supports 13, a lower cross member 14 and an upper cross member 15.
  • the corner supports 13 and the upper cross member 15 consist of L-profile rails and the lower cross member 14 of a T-profile rail, the vertical flanges of all four profile rails lying in a common plane.
  • the end rings 11 have an L-profile, the circumferential flange running parallel to the longitudinal axis L of the tank being welded flush to the respective tank bottom and the flange perpendicular thereto being flush with the flanges of the corner supports 13 and cross bars 14, 15.
  • the tank 10 is provided at the top with tank fittings 17 covered by a cap 16, on its underside with an emptying opening 18 and on both sides with horizontally adjacent tipping trough cams 19.
  • the bottom group of the tank container is formed by two longitudinal forklift channels 20, which run symmetrically and parallel to the longitudinal axis L of the tank.
  • each of these longitudinal forklift channels 20 comprises three parts 21, 22 of a profile rail.
  • the outer profile rail parts 21 are each connected at their outer end to the lower cross member 14 of the relevant end frame 12 and at their inner end to a lower bearing plate 23 each having a support 25 welded to the tank jacket via a Doppler plate 24.
  • the middle rail part 22 is connected at its two ends to a respective bearing plate 23.
  • each outer rail part 21 is at a distance corresponding to the width of the fork-lift truck duct from the facing end of the middle rail part 22.
  • the interruptions thus formed in the longitudinal forklift channels 20 define a pair of transverse forklift channels 26 which are symmetrical and parallel to the tank transverse axis Q.
  • the cross forklift channels 26 are thus defined laterally by the mutually facing ends of the profile rail parts 21, 22 of both longitudinal forklift channels 20 and upwards by the lower surfaces of the bearing plates 23.
  • Middle bearing plates 27 welded to the tank jacket, which are shown in FIGS.
  • the two pairs of longitudinal and transverse forklift channels 20, 26 intersect one another in four areas, hatched in FIG 24 are supported relative to the tank 10 and ensure the intended transmission of forces from the tank to the lifting vehicle regardless of the direction in which the forklift detects the tank container.
  • the three profile rail parts 21, 22 of the longitudinal forklift channels 20 have a generally U-shaped profile, the free edges of the two outer legs being folded towards one another. This results in the profile shown at 30 in FIG.
  • the lower flanges 31 of this profile 30 form the support level of the tank container.
  • each base plate 32 is inserted, which is welded to the edges of the flanges 31 and connects them to one another.
  • Each base plate 32 is provided with an opening 33, the shape of which corresponds to the base opening of an ISO corner fitting and is used to engage an ISO rotary lock or similar locking element.
  • each end frame 12 On the underside of each end frame 12, a locking plate 35 extending parallel to the tank transverse axis Q is also attached.
  • the outer end of each locking plate 35 is in the vertical plane in which the most protruding parts of the tank container end. In the present case, these parts are the tipping trough cams 19 and protective tubes 29 arranged between them, which form stop, friction and crumple elements.
  • the opposite ends of the locking plates 35 extend somewhat beyond the longitudinal axis L of the tank.
  • Each locking plate 35 has seven complete openings 36, each of which corresponds in its shape, like the openings 33 in the four base plates 32, to the lower opening of an ISO corner fitting and for the engagement of one of the spikes or rotary locks which are customary on ISO railway carrier cars and road chassis or similar locking elements.
  • adjacent openings 36 each have a center distance of 140 mm. Since pairs of locking elements with a mutual spacing of 280 mm are usually present on ISO railway wagons and road chassis, the tank container described here can be locked in the longitudinal direction of the platform at a large number of positions, each offset by 140 mm. This allows the space available on the loading area to be optimally used.
  • the locking plates 35 are arranged such that the distance between the center points of the openings 36 is 2260 mm and thus the distance between the opposite ones Fasteners on a standard ISO rail wagon or road chassis corresponds.
  • the two locking plates 35 extend in the direction of the tank transverse axis Q from the plane of the most protruding parts of the tank container to beyond the middle thereof, together with the possibility of the container being in the position shown in FIG. 3 and in one of them locked by 180 °, the above-mentioned advantage of optimal use of the available loading area.
  • the outer parts 37 of the locking plate 35 can be pivoted upward about the axis 38 shown in FIG. 1 and into the profile of the corresponding corner support 13 fold in. Both in the horizontal and in the folded-up position, the outer part 37 of the locking plate 35 can be fixed by means of fixing means (not shown).
  • the horizontal flange of the upper cross member 15 is designed according to FIGS. 1 and 2 as a gripping edge 40 which, according to FIG. 1, is delimited on the right by a stop part 41 and on the left by the vertical leg of a conductor bracket 42.
  • the conductor bracket 42 is bent from round steel and welded with its vertical leg to the upper cross member 15, with its horizontal leg to the left corner support 13.
  • Other conductor brackets 43 bent from round steel are U-shaped and are attached with their two horizontal legs to the left corner support 13 of the end frame 12 in FIG. 1.
  • the gripping edge 40 is provided with an upwardly extending guide plate 44 which has an eyelet 45 in its upper region for engaging a crane hook.
  • the upper edge of the eyelet 45 is reinforced by a transverse element 46 made of round steel, which is welded to the rear of the guide plate 44 and to the outer edges of triangular connecting plates 47 parallel to one another and to the tank longitudinal axis L, the lower edges of which are welded to the peripheral flange of the relevant end ring 11 are welded on.
  • the transverse element 46 thus forms the tip of a triangular support structure, the base of which is from the horizontal flange of the upper cross member 15 of the end frame 12, the leg of the tank facing the outer edges of the triangular connecting plates 47 and the outer leg of the guide plate 44 is formed.
  • a stable configuration is achieved which allows the tank container to be lifted by means of two crane hooks at two points located above the longitudinal axis L of the tank.
  • FIG. 1 and 2 illustrate a lower arrangement of the upper cross member 15 (in the right part of the respective drawing) and a higher arrangement of the upper cross member.
  • the upper cross member 15 In the higher arrangement (in the left part of FIG. 1), the upper cross member 15 'simultaneously acts as a rollover protection, since its upper edge lies above the level of the valve cap 16.
  • brackets 50 which are bent from tubes in a generally U-shape and can be inserted with their lower ends into open tube sleeves 51.
  • the tube sleeves 51 are welded to the upper ends of the corner supports 13 in their L-profile (see FIG. 3).
  • the brackets 50 can run parallel to the tank transverse axis Q according to FIG. 1 or parallel to the tank longitudinal axis L according to FIG. They also perform the function of a service railing.
