Definitions
- the invention relates to a static laminar mixing device for mixing media of different viscosities, to a mixing device for supplying a medium, and to the use of the mixing device and the mixing device.
- Static laminar mixing devices are systems built from so-called static mixers, in which the flow of the media to be mixed, e.g. Liquid with liquid or liquid with gas, remains laminar.
- Such laminar mixers are used in mixing devices for mixing e.g. Liquids of widely differing viscosities, such as those used when admixing low-viscosity, soluble additives to high-viscosity liquids.
- the low-viscosity (low-viscosity) liquid becomes the main stream of the high-viscosity (Viscous) liquid supplied, for example, via a tube which can be arranged in front of or directly at the entrance to the mixer element and opens into the main stream of the highly viscous liquid.
- the object of the invention is to provide laminar mixing devices which have improved mixing properties when mixing components of substantially different viscosities. This can be achieved on the one hand by a laminar mixing device with the features of claim 1 or by using the admixing arrangement with the features of claim 4 in connection with static mixers.
- a laminar mixing device for polystyrene which has a single mixing column of about 1.5 m in length and which is equipped with thirty mixing elements of the SULZER type SMX DN50, only 1 to 2% mineral oil / paraffin oil additives are dissolved in the polystyrene a laminar mixing device according to the invention considerable 4 to 6% of the additive, which are dissolved and even more while using the new mixing nozzle.
- the mixer device has a first mixing column equipped with twelve SULZER-type SMX DN17 mixing elements, also known as a pre-mixer, and a second mixing column equipped with eighteen SULZER-SMX DN50 mixing elements, also called a main mixer.
- the two mixing columns of the new mixing device according to the invention together have a length of only 1.1 m with a substantially improved, at least doubled, amount of admixture of the additive.
- the number of mixing elements in the first mixing column should be at least four, but less than half the total number of mixing elements in the two mixing columns.
- the new admixing device with the constricting orifice in the main flow of the highly viscous liquid and which is arranged in the region of the mouth of the feed pipe for the low-viscosity medium can achieve the maximum possible, homogeneously miscible amount of the additive or the low-viscous medium compared to conventional admixing devices or metering devices increase by up to about a third.
- the cross section of mixing columns is practically always circular and the diameter of the likewise expediently circular orifice should generally be at most 2/3 of the diameter of the main stream, ie the mixer column.
- a mixing device also called a metering point, can also comprise several orifices which are arranged next to one another.
- several orifices with a feed pipe for the additive would also be distributed over the cross section of the main flow.
- the total cross section of the plurality of orifices should advantageously be less than half the cross section of the main flow. It should be noted that the flow is always laminar even in the area of the restricting orifices.
- the flow velocities in the pre-mixer and main mixer are typically in the range from one to a hundred mmsec ⁇ 1, for example from about 50 mmsec ⁇ 1 in the pre-mixer and 1 to 10 mmsec ⁇ 1 in the main mixer.
- the static laminar mixing device for mixing media with very different viscosities has two consecutively arranged mixers with different cross sections.
- the cross section of the first mixer is smaller.
- the admixing device for dosing the additive with a lower viscosity than the medium of the main flow has an orifice in the opening of which the nozzle opens.
- the mixer 1 of FIG. 1A has, for example, thirty mixing elements 11 which are arranged alternately in a crosswise manner in the column 10.
- the main viscous medium 12, for example a plastic is mixed with the low-viscosity additive 13, e.g. a mineral oil / paraffin.
- the admixing device 1213 comprises an orifice 14 for the main flow 12, in the opening of which the nozzle 15 opens.
- the additive 12 supplied is dissolved in the plastic and / or homogeneously distributed.
- any other known admixer could also be provided instead of the new admixing device 1213; for example one as shown in Fig. 1B.
- the laminar mixer device 1 'of Fig. 1B consists of the premixer 1a (the main flow experiences relatively high shear / shear rate in the order of magnitude ⁇ ⁇ 20-200 s ⁇ 1) and the main mixer 1b (the main flow experiences relatively low shear therein / Shear rate in the order of magnitude ⁇ ⁇ 1-5 s ⁇ 1), which has a larger cross-section than the premixer 1a.
- the mixer 1a is equipped with, for example, twelve mixer elements 11a arranged crosswise.
- the mixer Ib comprises, for example, eighteen mixer elements 11b which are likewise arranged in a crosswise manner.
- the low-viscosity medium / additive 13 ' (eg paraffin oil) is added to the main flow 12' of the viscous medium (eg a plastic such as polystyrene) in the admixing arrangement or metering device 1213 '.
- the viscous medium eg a plastic such as polystyrene
- a new one with metering device with orifice could also be provided. It would be too conceivable to arrange a transition piece with a transition section without mixing elements between the two mixers 1a and 1b of the mixing device 1 '.
- the additive flow 21 is fed via the nozzle 22 with the nozzle channel 220 to the main flow 23 in the region of the opening 20 of the orifice 24.
- the additive 21 is supplied laterally to the nozzle 22, which is mounted in the web 25.
- the nozzle channel 220 and the aperture 20 open directly into the mixer 26 with the mixing elements 27.
- the main stream 33 of the viscous component is deflected and fed to the mixer column 36 with the mixing elements 37 via the channel 30 of the aperture 34.
- the nozzle 32 with the nozzle channel 320 for the more fluid additive stream 31 is not angled in this example, directed in the direction of the mixer column 36.
- the admixing device 4 of FIGS. 4A and 4B has two nozzles 42 and 42 'for additive 41.
- the main stream 430 of the higher-viscosity agent is divided into the two parallel partial main streams 43 and 43 ', which flow through the mixer 46 and 46' equipped with mixing elements 47 and 47 '.
- the two aperture openings 40 and 40 ' are present, in which the nozzle tubes 42 and 42' open concentrically.
- the parallel mixer 46 and 46 'with the partial main streams 43 and 43' could, which is not shown here, form the premixer for a common main mixer of a static laminar mixing device.
- the SULZER type SMX mixer elements are suitable as mixer elements.
- the low-viscosity additive could also be a gas such as N2, CO2 or H2O vapor.
Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1A Eine Laminar-Mischeinrichtung bisheriger Bauart, die nur aus einer einzigen Mischkolonne besteht. Die Mischkolonne weist aber eine neue Zumischvorrichtung auf;
- Fig. 1 eine Laminar-Mischeinrichtung nach der Erfindung, mit zwei Mischkolonnen von unterschiedlichem Querschnitt;
- Fig. 2 eine Zumischvorrichtung, bei der das niederviskose Additiv dem hochviskosen Hauptstrom von der Seite zugeführt wird;
- Fig. 3 Eine andere Zumischvorrichtung, bei welcher der hochviskose Hauptstrom von der Seite dem Mischdüsenbereich der Zumischvorrichtung zugeführt wird;
- Fig. 4A eine Zumischvorrichtung, in welcher der hochviskose Hauptstrom in zwei Teil-Hauptströme aufgeteilt wird. Jedem Teilhauptstrom wird mit einer Düse das niederviskose Additiv für jeden der Teilhauptströme den statischen Mischern zugeführt;
