Abstract

A ski binding part can slide along the ski in a guide rail (14) attached to the ski and can be releasably locked in predetermined positions. The ski binding part is fixed at the chosen position on the guide rail (14) by a spring (11) loaded catch part (10) with an actuating element (6) which can be adjusted at two different vertical heights. This ski binding part can be used with a heelpiece (5) connected by a metal strip (3) to the ski binding part. To this end, the actuating element (6) has an additional (third) surface (22) by means of which the catch part (10) can be locked in two defined vertical positions. The heelpiece (5) with the metal strip (3) can therefore be adjusted relative to the toepieces (4), or both ski binding parts (8, 9) can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the ski.

Description

The invention relates to a ski binding part, in particular a toe piece, according to the preamble of claim 1.

A ski binding part of this type is described in AT-PS 380 639. The technical solution disclosed in this document has proven itself, but has the disadvantage that the known locking device allows only two layers, namely a locked and a unlocked position. However, there is a need to use a ski binding part of the type mentioned in the introduction in conjunction with such a complete ski binding, in which a heel holder is coupled to the movable jaw unit by means of a metal band. On the one hand, it should be possible, in a first unlocked position, to adjust the heel holder with the metal band relative to the toe in the longitudinal direction of the ski and thus to adapt the distance between the toe and heel holder to different ski boot sizes. On the other hand, in a second unlocked position, the free adjustability of the toe piece according to the parent patent is also to be retained, in which case the entire ski binding with an inserted ski boot is brought into a ski-centered position and then this position is fixed by the double locking of the locking device can. The object of the present invention is to achieve this object.

From DE-OS 35 23 058 solution has already become known through which safety ski bindings with simultaneous adjustment of the toe and heel holder can not only be adapted to different skiing conditions and snow conditions, but also an adaptation to different ski shoe sizes is made possible. It was proposed according to a first variant of DE-OS 35 23 058 that the locking device has a second bolt which has an arbitrary detachable connection between one of the Binding parts and the connecting band forms, wherein the actuator has a second unlocking position influencing the second bolt and wherein the first bolt is assigned to the connecting element.

This makes it possible to adjust the binding unit formed from the front jaws and heel holder relative to the ski in the longitudinal direction of the ski when the first bolt associated with the connecting strap is unlocked.

To adapt to ski boots of different sizes, the second latch is unlocked, which determines the position of the toe piece relative to the connecting element.

In this known embodiment, however, the actuator can only unlock either one or the other bolt; simultaneous movement of the binding parts is not possible. This means that the entire ski binding can only be brought into the desired position relative to the ski by repeatedly actuating the actuating member in the other direction when the front jaw has been brought into a suitable position for receiving a specific ski boot size.

In the second embodiment according to DE-OS 35 23 058, the second latch is formed in one piece with the first latch, so that the toe in the second unlocking position of this latch is movable in the longitudinal direction of the ski relative to the latter. Although this configuration eliminates the distance between the two bars according to the first exemplary embodiment in the longitudinal direction of the ski, this technical measure does not change the disadvantageous manipulation mentioned above. Rather, this arrangement creates a further disadvantage in that the unlocking position of the bolt relative to the guide rail of the toe piece can only take place downward, as is disclosed in the description of the figures relating to FIGS. 5 and 6 of the cited document. As a result, the toe piece must be mounted at a distance from the top of the ski that corresponds to the actuation path of the combined latch, which measure not only an increased design of the toe piece results, but also has an adverse effect on the dimensioning of the fastening screws.

The object set is achieved by the features stated in the characterizing part of claim 1.

Characterized in that the actuator according to the invention has a third surface or a third surface section, the latching part can be locked on the guide rail in two effective positions. In this way it is also ensured that in a first unlocked position the metal band with the heel holder can be adjusted on its own and in a second unlocked position the jaw unit can also be adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the ski. Finally, the toe and heel holder can be in the desired, newly adjusted position, e.g. the ski center position of the entire binding is taken into account and locked together again.

The solution according to the invention also ensures that the locking device does not involve undesired dimensional changes in the individual parts or the entire ski binding unit, either in terms of length or height.

A particularly complete embodiment of the actuator is achieved by the features of claim 2.

The measures according to claims 3 and 4 give the designer a simple handle for constructively determining the course of the individual surfaces relative to the cross bolt, depending on the height dimensions of the metal strip or the guide rail.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in which an exemplary embodiment is shown.

Fig.4 zeigt den Vorderbacken im Schnitt nach der Linie IV-IV in Fig.1.Fig.1 is a vertical section along the line I-I in Fig.4 with a schematically shown heel holder in the driving position, Fig.1a shows a detail of the toe on an enlarged scale. 2 shows the ski binding, similar to FIG. 1 with the heel holder adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the ski. Fig.3 the ski binding, similar to Fig.1 in the unlocked position of the toe. Fig. 4 shows the front jaw in section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 1.

Dadurch wird die Anpassung der Skibindung 1 an unterschiedliche Skischuhgröpen in bekannter Weise ermöglicht.1 to 3, a ski binding is designated by 1 in its entirety. It is attached to a ski 2. The ski binding 1 comprises a metal band 3 with a front jaw 4 and a heel holder 5. The front jaw 4 is mounted on a front guide rail 14 which is fixed to the ski and is longitudinally adjustable and lockable. The heel holder 5 is guided freely on a ski-fixed rear guide rail 15 and is secured against lifting upwards. The metal band 3 extends in the longitudinal direction of the ski 2. Both the front jaw 4 and the heel holder 5 can be connected to the metal band 3 in a manner to be described in more detail. This enables the adaptation of the ski binding 1 to different ski boot groups in a known manner.

For this purpose, a latching device with an actuating element 6 is arranged in the front jaw 4 according to the invention. Both the front guide rail 14 and the metal strip 3 have locking recesses 14a and 3a, which can be brought into engagement with a locking pin 7. The locking pin 7 is integrally connected to a piston 8, which in turn is provided with a guide rod 9 which points in a direction opposite the locking pin 7, the locking pin 7, piston 8 and guide rod 9 forming the locking part 10. The piston 8 is axially guided in a first, lower section 13a of a vertical recess 13 of a housing 16 of the front jaw 4. In a subsequent section 13b with a smaller diameter, the guide rod 9 is guided through the housing 16 of the front jaw 4. In the lower section 13a of the vertical recess 13, a spring 11 designed as a helical compression spring is arranged coaxially with the guide rod 9, which is supported on one end on a first abutment 8a formed by the top of the piston 8 and on the other on a second abutment 12 formed by the housing 16 and applied to the piston 8 in the axial direction. By this spring 11, the locking part 10 and thus the locking pin 7 is always pressed against the guide rail 14 and against the metal strip 3.

At the front end, a number of locking recesses 3a are cut out in the metal strip 3. The front guide rail 14 also has a series of latching recesses 14a. By the engagement of the locking pin 7 arranged in the front jaw 4 in one of the locking recesses 3a of the metal strip 3 and one of the locking recesses 14a of the front guide rail 14, the travel position mentioned is established. To hold the heel holder 5 on the metal band 3, the latter has a row of teeth, with the teeth of which a catch of the heel holder 5 can optionally be brought into engagement. This configuration is known per se, does not form part of the subject matter of the present invention and can be understood by the person skilled in the art without further details both in terms of its structure and in terms of its function.

The guide rod 9 protruding from the housing 16 is mounted on an actuating member 6 by means of a cross bolt 25. The actuating member 6 is designed as a lever-like handle with a handle part 26, the cross bolt 25 for the latching part 10 being provided on the opposite end of the handle part 26. This end of the actuator 6 also has a first surface 28 which, in the illustrated locking position (see FIGS. 1, 1 a), lies flat on an upper side 27 of the housing 16. A second surface 29 extends at right angles to the first surface 28, the second surface 29 on a steep curve 31 of an eccentric converges. On this steep curve 31 there is a first support point 32, via which the actuator 6 can be pivoted once. A second surface 30 adjoins the second surface 29, at an obtuse angle β of 120-155 °, in particular 140 °, via a further steep curve 33, a second support point 34 being located on this steep curve 33.

Fig.1a). The normal distances between the individual surfaces 28, 29, 30, based on the cross bolt 25, are designated in sequence with S 1, S 2, S 3 (see Ins.Fig.1a). The difference between the normal distances S₂ and S₁ corresponds to the thickness of the metal strip 3 and the difference between the normal distances S₃ and S₂ corresponds to the thickness of the front guide rail 14.

In the driving position of the ski binding 1, the distance between the front jaw 4 and the heel holder 5 is designated by a according to FIG.

When the actuating member 6 swings first over the first support point 32 into the position according to FIG. 2, the first support point 32 slides on the upper side 27 of the housing 16 in the direction of the center line 35 through the cross bolt 25. As soon as this support point 32 passes a plane through this center line 35 , the actuator 6 comes back into a stable position, the second surface 29 now coming into contact with the top 27 of the housing 16, as shown in FIG. The ski binding 1 shown in FIG. 2 shows the position in which the locking pin 7 disengages from the locking recesses 3a of the metal strip 3 due to the first pivoting of the actuating member 6, and thus the heel holder 5 connected to the metal strip 3 reaches the desired shoe group the distance b can be adapted along the rear guide rail 15. When the actuator 6 is pivoted further about the second support point 34, the third surface 30 comes to rest on the upper side 27 of the housing 16, as shown in FIG.

S₃ - S₂ bewirkt.3 shows the position in which the locking pin 7 has now also disengaged from the locking recesses 14a of the front guide rail 14 by further pivoting of the actuating member 6. In this way, the front jaw 4 in the front guide rail 14 and the heel holder 5 in the rear guide rail 15 can be moved and thus not only adapted to the desired shoe size c , but also brought into a ski-centered position. The effect of locking or unlocking is effected by the above-mentioned differences in the normal distances S₂ - S₁ or S₃ - S₂.

When the adjustment process is complete, the actuating member 6 is pivoted in the opposite direction to when it was unlatched and thus brought into the original position. This position is also shown in FIGS. 1a and 4.

Between the front jaw 4 and the heel holder 5, the metal band 3 is provided with a casing 19 made of plastic material. In its front area, the metal strip 3 is also provided with a step plate 17, only indicated, and in its rear area with a cover 18. These configurations also do not form part of the subject matter of the present invention.

This information is only used to illustrate the application of the invention to a common product.
