Abstract

A cross-country ski binding for use with a ski boot having a front extension portion on its sole, with the front end portion providing a hooking area on its top surface, has a double-armed retaining lever whose arm which faces towards the rear of the binding forms a hook for engaging behind the hooking area on the extension portion of the boot. The second arm of the retaining lever can be secured in the closed position of the binding by a locking lever pivotally mounted at the front end of the binding. The locking lever is spring-loaded towards the position of locking the retaining lever in the closed condition of the binding. The binding also has a release button which is disposed pivotally coaxially with respect to the retaining lever and which is limitedly pivotable relative to the retaining lever, against the force of a retaining spring, thereby to displace the locking lever into a position for releasing the retaining lever. The retaining lever also has an abutment which is engaged by the first extension portion of the boot upon insertion thereof into the binding to pivot the retaining lever into the binding-closing position.

Description

The invention relates to a ski boot / ski binding combination according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such ski boot / ski binding combinations are known for example from DE-A-2 721 976. In these, the locking position of the retaining lever is achieved in that its forward arm is loaded by a spring which forms the locking element and always tries to keep the retaining lever in the locking position. In practice, it has been shown that these ski bindings have various disadvantages which reduce the utility value. For example, they do not have a fixed open position, and during the alighting process the retaining lever must be constantly, e.g. B. operated by means of a ski pole. It is also necessary to actuate the retaining lever when getting into the ski binding if an ice or snow surface has formed on the ski in the area of the front sole end of the ski boot. This is easily possible due to the open construction of the well-known ski bindings.

To prevent an upward movement of the front sole end, in addition, in the known ski bindings, projections projecting inwards from the side jaws are provided, which overlap the upper side of the front sole end. In order to ensure a firm mounting of the front sole end underneath, the height of the space formed between these projections and the base plate must be matched to the thickness of the front sole end relatively precisely. However, such an exact adjustment is not possible in all cases on the one hand, on the other hand it hinders entry into the ski binding when ice or snow accumulates in the ski binding.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a ski boot / ski binding combination according to the preamble of claim 1, which is easy to use, allows a fixed open position of the ski binding and has a closed construction which largely prevents the penetration of snow and thus ice formation prevented. Furthermore, it should be achieved that the locking position of the retaining lever is not or not directly secured by the force of a spring, but by positive locking.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1.

The actuation of the unlocking button first leads to a release movement of the locking lever and then to the entraining of the retaining lever in its open position, in which it remains under the locking action of the locking lever even after the unlocking button has been released again. In addition, the locking lever is a structurally simple solution for securing the locking position of the retaining lever by a positive connection.

Die Merkmale der Unteransprüche betreffen vorteilhafte Konstruktionsdetails. The features of the subclaims relate to advantageous construction details.

  • Fig. 3 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 1 but in the open position of the binding.

A base plate 3 is fastened to a cross-country ski 1 by means of screws 2. The base plate has two bends 4, 5, which serve as side jaws. These side jaws are used on the one hand for lateral guidance of an extended sole end 6 of a cross-country ski boot 7 shown in dash-dot lines and on the other hand as a stop to limit the movement of the ski boot towards the ski tip. The forward end of the sole is stepped on its upper side so that a barb 8 is formed. A horizontal transverse axis 9 is supported in the side jaws 4, 5 and carries a retaining lever 10. This has the two arms 11, 12. The arm 11 is angled at its free end and thus forms a hook 13, which serves to engage behind the barb 8 at the sole end 6.

The arm 12 of the retaining lever 10 has a central recess 14 which extends beyond the axis 9 and receives an unlocking button 15 which is also mounted on the axis 9. This release button can be pivoted to a limited extent against the retaining lever against the force of a retaining spring 16. A trough 17 in the top of the release button is used to insert a ski pole tip to open the ski binding, which is described in detail below. Below the release button, the retaining lever 10 has a stop 18 which can be influenced in the manner to be described by the forward end 6 of the sole.

Parallel to the horizontal transverse axis 9, an axis 19 is also supported in the side jaws 4, 5 and carries a locking lever 20. This is under the influence of a spiral spiral spring 21 which is attached to the axis 19, for which purpose the locking lever has a corresponding recess 22. With its leg 23, the spring engages the locking lever while it supports its leg 24 on the base plate 3. The locking lever is an extended lever with the two arms 25, 26. The arm 25 serves as a locking arm and carries two rollers 27 serving as locking bodies, which are mounted parallel to the axis 19. The arm 26 has an abutment surface 28 with which it rests on the end face when the binding of the base plate 3 is in use (FIG. 1). The locking arm 25 extends between the two rollers 27 up to their circumferential proximity and forms a nose 29 (FIG. 1), the purpose of which will be explained in the following is described.

In Figure 1, the cross-country ski binding is shown in its state of use. The hook 13 on the arm 11 of the retaining lever 10 engages behind the barb 8 on the sole end 6 of the cross-country ski boot 7 and thus secures the front sole end, which is supported on the side jaws 4, 5, against being pulled out of the binding. The retaining lever 10 is secured in its position in that its arm 12 is supported on the circumference of the rollers 27 in such a way that the force is directed at least approximately radially to the axis 19. The locking lever 20 is held by the spiral spring 21 in the position shown.

To get out of the binding, the release button 15 must be actuated against the force of its retaining spring 16, for example by means of a ski pole. Here, its free end meets the nose 29 of the locking arm 25, and when the release button is pressed down, the locking lever 20 is pivoted clockwise with respect to the illustration. As a result, the rollers 27 are initially released from the arm 12 of the retaining lever 10. When the unlocking button has finally reached its lower limit position in the retaining lever 10, it takes it along with a further pressure load. The free end of the arm 12 finally comes to rest against the circumference of the two rollers 27, but in such a way that the pressure exerted on the rollers passes the axis 19 on the right in relation to the illustration, so that the locking lever 20 counteracts the force the spiral spring 21 is pivoted further into the open position according to FIG. 3. When the pressure on the release button 15 is released, the cross-country ski binding maintains this position, in which the sole end 6 can be pulled out of the binding and thus the cross-country ski boot 7 can be released from the cross-country ski 1, because the force of the spiral spring 21 loading the locking lever 20 is directed normal to the arm 12 of the retaining lever 1.0, which ensures the fixed open position of the binding.

In Fig. 3, the forward sole end 6 of the cross-country ski boot 7 is again shown in dash-dotted lines. To automatically close the binding, it is only necessary to swivel the cross-country ski boot into its running position. This leads to a pivoting of the retaining lever 10, since the sole end 6 acts with its upper side against the stop 18 of the retaining lever 10 and pivots it clockwise with respect to the illustration that it no longer blocks the locking lever 20 but rather from it under the Influence of the spiral spring 21 in the use position according to FIG. 1 is pivoted, which results in the securing of the sole end in the ski binding by reaching behind the barb 8 from the hook 13.
