Definitions

  • the invention relates to a brush holder for an electrical commutator machine, in particular for a DC machine for vehicles, of the type defined in the preamble of claim 1.
  • a first insulating washer is arranged on the one hand between the brush plate and the rivet head spanning the brush plate and on the other hand between the rivet shaft and the in contrast, a much larger hole in the brush plate inserted a second insulating washer.
  • the entire brush holder is held by the single rivet bolt.
  • the brush holder according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that at the same time a reliable rotation of the brush holder is achieved by what is necessary for the isolated fastening ⁇ of the brush holder to the brush plate insulating member.
  • This protection against rotation is obtained in that the ring web on the insulating part on the one hand fixes the riveted insulating part itself in the brush plate and on the other hand the pull-through pin of the brush holder with the insulating plate on the insulating part. Installation remains time-saving, as only one rivet bolt per brush holder needs to be riveted.
  • the insulating part according to the invention is a simple injection molded or pressed part that can be manufactured inexpensively.
  • the ring web can either be flush with the brush plate or after further passage through the insulating plate flush with the insulating plate.
  • An additional fastening of the brush holder to the brush plate by means of a hollow rivet, which passes through the pull-through pin of the brush holder, the ring web and the second recess of the insulating part, provides increased security against axial lifting of the brush holder from the brush plate.
  • Such additional protection is particularly recommended when installing the commutator machine in construction vehicles, where harsh operating conditions prevail.

  • the brush holder for an electrical commutator machine shown in longitudinal section and only in sections in FIG. 1, which is preferably used in a DC machine for vehicles, such as an alternator or starter, has a brush plate 10 which is held non-rotatably in the housing of the commutator machine.

  • this brush holder corresponds to the brush holder described above and shown in FIG. 1.
  • the annular web 24 * surrounding the recess 22 and integral with the insulating part 19 has such an axial length that it not only bores the bore 15 in the brush plate 10 but also the recess 20 in penetrates the insulating plate 18 and is flush with the insulating plate 18 on the side facing the holding web 13.
  • the inside diameter of the ring web 24 ' is again chosen to be somewhat larger than the bore 15, so that the rivet bolt 14 can be passed through the interior of the ring web 24' without any problems.
