Abstract

In a shower head with a housing which can be connected to the water supply and which forms at least one water chamber, and with a floor part with water outlet openings formed from elastic material which downstream are of hose-like design, it is proposed for the sake of improvement, and in particular in order to remove calcium deposits on all the water outlet openings, that in the area of the hose-like end pieces of the water outlet openings a device for optionally vigorously squeezing and/or scraping off of the end pieces on the shower head is provided, the hose-like end pieces being constructed with walls which are as thin as possible. Instead of a particular device, it can also be provided that the protruding hose-like area of the water outlet openings is produced from a material with a material hardness of 20 to 100 Shore so that vigorously squeezing or scraping off of the end pieces can be carried out manually by the user without a special device. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower head with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1. Shower devices of this type are known (DE 31 07 808 Al / DE 30 44 310 Al). The tendency to calcification of conventional shower heads can be reduced by the arrangement of tubular water outlet nozzles made of elastic material. On the other hand, it cannot be ruled out that limescale encrustations do occur at individual water outlet openings, which is undesirable.

The invention has for its object to improve the shower head specified in the preamble of claim 1 and in particular to design such that scale deposits can be easily removed from all water outlet openings.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1 and claim 2.

With these designs, simple means make it possible to remove these incrustations in a targeted manner at each water outlet opening on the downstream edge, at which lime incrustations preferably form due to the evaporation of the water.
Further refinements of the invention are specified in claims 3 to 15.

For the sake of simplicity, the same or corresponding elements are provided with the same reference numerals in the exemplary embodiments in the drawing.

A hand shower is shown in FIG. 1, the handle of the hand shower being articulated to a shower head 1 behind the section plane. The water is supplied via a flexible hose line through a water inlet 11 in the handle of the shower, not shown in the drawing. From the water inlet 11, the fresh water reaches water chambers 12 which can be optionally switched on. The water chambers 12 are delimited downstream by a base part 2, in which water outlet openings 22 are provided as jet formers for the emerging water jets. Concentric to the individual water outlet openings 22, tubular end pieces 21 are integrally formed on the bottom part 2 on the downstream end face, the bottom part 2 being made of an elastomer. In order to prevent deformation of the entire base part 2 by the water pressure, it is correspondingly thick-walled. The water outlet openings 22 have a circular cross section and have a diameter of 1 to 2 mm, preferably of about 1.2 mm. The tubular end pieces 21 on the downstream end face of the base part 2 protrude approximately 2.5 mm and have a wall thickness of approximately 0.5 mm. Parallel to the slightly spherical bottom part 2, a flat slide valve 4 is arranged in front as a cover on the shower head 1, the end pieces 21 engaging in bores 41 of the flat slide valve 4. Coaxial to the central axis 13, a hub 14 is formed on the shower head 1, from which the flat slide 4 is rotatably held, the flat slide 4 being secured axially fixed on the shower head 1 with the aid of a fastening screw 15. To clean or remove limescale deposits on the downstream region of the end pieces 21, the flat slide 4 can be rotated by hand relative to the base part 2 with the aid of gripping surfaces 42, as a result of which a rolling and wiping of the end pieces 21 on the walls of the bores 41 takes place.
As an alternative to the rotatable arrangement of the flat slide 4, it can also be immovably fixed to the hub 14 with the aid of a polygonal profile, for example a square, in which case the base part 2 is then designed to be rotatable. Rotatable bottom parts are often used for adjusting and / or optionally blocking some water outlet openings 22. In this arrangement, the end pieces 21 are then automatically wiped off the flat slide with the beam adjustment or changeover.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the tubular end pieces 21 do not engage in the flat slide 4. 4 knobs 43 are formed on the flat slide on the back for wiping. The shower jets formed in the water outlet openings 22 can pass freely through openings 44 in the flat slide valve 4 in a neutral central position.

Instead of the one-piece design of bottom part 2 and end pieces 21, hose pieces 3 can also be inserted into corresponding openings 23 of a rigid bottom part 2. According to the embodiment according to FIG. 3, a thin-walled rubber plate can be placed on the base part 2, with corresponding hose-like end pieces 21 being formed on the rubber plate, which reach through the base part 2 in openings 23. Alternatively, as can be seen from FIG. 4, two pieces of hose 3 can be buttoned into the individual openings 23 of the base part. For secure mounting in the bottom part 2, the tube piece 3 has an inner collar 31 and an outer collar 32.

The flat slide 4 is expediently held on the shower head 1 in such a way that it automatically assumes a neutral central position in the rest position, in which the shower jets can emerge undisturbed. In order to make it easier to remove limescale from the end pieces 21, the downstream end face can expediently be tapered with a cone 210.

The proposed flat slide valve 4 can also be completely omitted if the end pieces 2l of the water outlet openings 22 are made of an elastic material with a material hardness of 20 to 100 shore. In this case, the end pieces 21 can be wiped with the user's hand to remove incrustations etc. The device otherwise required is replaced by the hand of the user. In this embodiment, the end pieces 21 expediently have a wall thickness of 0.1 to 3 mm and a projecting free length of 0.1 to 4 mm.
