Abstract

A shower (1) with self-cleaning shower head (3) has a nozzle plate (9) which is displaceable against the pins (7, 8), so that the shower holes (12, 13) are unblocked when the water supply to let water through is switched on. When the water is shut off, the nozzle plate (9) with its shower holes (12, 13) slides over the pins (7, 8) again. By this means, free throughflow for the shower holes (12, 13) is always ensured. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower device with the water supply handle part and the shower head, which has a plurality of shower holes and associated with them and adapted in diameter pins, the pins and the plate having the shower holes are displaceable relative to each other.

In the shower heads of shower facilities, the shower holes formed in the cover plate tend to clog, which is particularly favored by calcareous water. Shower facilities were developed early on, in which plates with pins were arranged in the shower head, which could be pushed through the blocked shower holes if necessary.

From DE-PS 711 583 a shower device is known in which a slidable plate with pins is arranged within the shower head, which is pushed forward under water pressure. The pens already reach into the shower holes in the rest position and are pushed outwards by the water pressure in order to then shape the jet. The pins are therefore only used to a minor extent to maintain the exclusion cross section of the shower holes.

On the other hand, a shower device with a shower head is known from US Pat. No. 1,982,538, in which the displaceable plate can be moved via an adjusting lever. The pins clean the shower holes when they pierce and ensure a predetermined jet shape.

When switching from one to the other jet shape, the pins assigned to a ring or a plate become the individual shower holes inserted so that the shower hole is cleaned from the inside each time it is switched.

A disadvantage of the known shower devices is that a switchover process is required in each case in order to initiate the cleaning process, or it is important for the user to make sure that the pens pass sufficiently through the shower holes. In the embodiment known from DE-PS 711 583, in which the pins extend into the shower holes even in the idle state, it is disadvantageous that the pins must have a significantly smaller diameter because of the guidance of the water jet, so that the cleaning effect is limited. Any deposits of lime, for example, cannot generally be removed with this device, which then also depends on the level of the water pressure. In the solution known from DE-OS 37 07 885, it is particularly disadvantageous that the shower holes are only cleaned during the switching process. If the switchover device is not used for a long time, the shower holes can become clogged, so that the necessary and desired cleaning process cannot be achieved even with the help of the switchover device.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a shower device with a shower head, the shower holes of which are automatically cleaned when the spray position is switched on.

The object is achieved in that the pins are fastened to the housing of the shower head and that between these pins and a cover plate protecting the shower head outlet, a nozzle plate equipped with the shower holes and sealing against the water supply is guided by the pins and against the force on the cover plate supporting springs is slidably arranged and that the nozzle plate on the one hand with the Pins and on the other hand is correspondingly formed with recesses in the cover plate.

In such a shower device, the shower holes are automatically cleaned practically after each use, namely by then moving the nozzle plate with the shower holes through the springs against the pins, so that the pins rest in the corresponding shower holes in this state of rest. In the function in which the shower holes are stressed and tend to clog, the nozzle plate is displaced against the force of the springs, so that the shower holes are then fully functional. If, in the case of a multi-function shower device or a multi-function shower head, another function is set by appropriate conversion, the shower holes which tend to clog remain protected in their position by the pins and the water can flow out of the shower head, for example, by taking up air. But since the normal shower position is the spray position, in which the shower holes come into operation, practically every time the water is switched on or the cleaning process is switched off. This means that shower equipment is always functional.

According to an expedient embodiment of the invention it is provided that the pins are part of the water supply and are fixed with this in the housing. The interior construction of such a shower head can thus be simplified, the pins or at least the holders for them being able to be produced in one operation with the water supply. This ensures stable storage and formation of the pins. This, in turn, guarantees that the nozzle plate can be pushed onto the pens via the spring force when the water is turned off, in order to clean the shower holes or to prevent dirt or limescale from forming from the outset.

Pins to be inserted into the shower holes as optimally as possible are specified if, as provided according to the invention, the pins have cylindrical end pieces which correspond to the shower holes, while the pockets connected to the water supply have the shape of a pointed truncated cone. In particular in the embodiment of the nozzle plate described further below, this guarantees that the shower holes are kept open and, at the same time, the nozzle-shaped outlet of the individual shower holes in the nozzle plate is cleared. In addition, the pins are secure and can be made from a suitable material. For this purpose, the invention provides that the pins are designed as steel pins and the pockets as plastic or metal parts. Of course, it is also possible to produce pens and bags from the same material, for example as a plastic component common to the water supply.

It has already been pointed out above that shower facilities of this type can be equipped with single or multi-function shower heads. For a two-function shower head, for example, cleaning of the shower holes is ensured according to the invention by the water supply having two channels, one of which ends above and the other below the nozzle plate and which can alternately be connected to the water supply or the handle part via a switch. This means that the inflowing water is only used in the spray position to move the nozzle plate away from the pins and then to clear the way for the water through the clean or cleaned shower holes. In the second function, the water is guided past the nozzle plate so that it remains in its rest position and the water can flow out, for example enriched with air, in a suitable and desired manner. If, on the other hand, the water flows onto the nozzle plate and moves it, this becomes thereby ensuring that the nozzle plate is sealed against the edges of the water supply or the interior of the shower head.

The changeover switch is expediently mounted in such a way that it is positioned at the transition from the handle part to the shower head and is designed as a rotary distributor, so that the changeover process can easily be accomplished with one finger.

A simple and expedient design of the rotary distributor provides that it is rotatable with its inlet end on the pipe end piece of the handle part and is secured in the water supply via knobs and slot guide. The desired smoothness is achieved and at the same time the possibility is given to make a change during the water inflow. The rotary distributor is guided from one end position to the other via the knobs rotatable in the slot guide.

Not only are simple shower holes formed in the nozzle plates which are pierced by the pins, but for the special shape of the water jets it is provided that the nozzle plate has nozzle-shaped projections on the side facing the cover plate. This gives the possibility of optimally shaping the shape of the water jet or jets, this predetermined shape being always guaranteed for the further period of use, because the cleaning process already described via the fixed pins guarantees this. The nozzle-shaped design of the approaches also has the advantage that there is a certain guide for the pins, which are still in the end position in the end position even with the displaced nozzle plate, so that a hook or the like. cannot occur when the nozzle plate is pushed back over the springs. To optimize this, it is provided that the nozzle-shaped attachments have an outlet nozzle on the outlet side. That is the possibility given to replace the nozzle plate and thus the outlet nozzle shape when the user desires a specific form of water jet. The effort involved is relatively low.

A stable position of the nozzle plate on the springs on the one hand and a secure reciprocation of the nozzle plate on the other hand is ensured if the springs are arranged between two perforated or nozzle circles guided by a cam assigned to the cover plate. It is expedient to arrange three springs distributed over the circumference between the cover and nozzle plate in order to keep the number of springs as low as possible and thus the weight of the shower head. The three springs distributed over the circumference ensure an optimal position and the cams ensure uniform guiding of the springs, which cannot slide out of their specified position due to the back and forth movement of the nozzle plate. It is particularly expedient if the specially designed nozzle plate with its nozzle-shaped attachments can be advanced beyond the cover plate in order not to have any negative influence on the water jets. This is ensured by the recesses in the cover plate having webs pointing towards the center of the circle, the free edges of which are arranged and designed to guide the nozzle-shaped projections of the nozzle plate. The nozzle-shaped lugs of the nozzle plate are thus reliably guided when the nozzle plate is displaced and when the cover plate is pierced, with an annular recess remaining around the nozzle-shaped lugs, which is provided for the water to flow out in the other functional positions.

The invention is characterized in particular by the fact that a shower device with a shower head is created which, regardless of whether it is designed as a single or multiple function shower, always flawlessly from the water has shower holes to flow through. These shower holes are kept open by the inserted pins in the idle state, so that when the nozzle plate with its shower holes is moved, a perfect flow is always guaranteed. The nozzle plate is mechanically pushed into this rest position via the springs, while it is held in the working position by the inflowing and flowing water. It is thereby achieved that practically every time the shower device is used in the spray position, a cleaning process runs automatically, as a result of which an always functional shower device or a corresponding shower head is kept available. With a corresponding design of the water supply in a multi-function shower device, the water is guided in the spray position onto the nozzle plate, while it can be guided past the nozzle plate for other functions.

Die aus Fig. 1 und 4 ersichtliche Ausführung ist jedoch die zweckmäßigere und einfachere.1 consists of the handle part (2), which is hollow and through which the water can flow and from the shower head (3). The handle part (2) is shown in cross section in Fig. 4. It is conceivable that a water hose or tube is integrated in this handle part (2). The embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 4 is, however, the more expedient and simpler one.

In the transition area between the handle part (2) and shower head (3), a rotary distributor (4) is arranged in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, so as to feed water for the spray position or the soft position via the water supply (5). Further details are explained further below.

The water supply (5) is integrated in the housing (6) of the shower head (3). This is expediently a component which is explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 5 and 8, a large number of pins (7, 8) being part of the water supply (5) or else being firmly connected to it.

The pins (7, 8), which are assigned to the water supply (5), extend in the rest position into a nozzle plate (9), which is partially shown in FIG. 1. This nozzle plate (9) has nozzle-shaped projections (10) which protrude above the nozzle plate (9) on the side (11) facing the cover plate (14). These nozzle-shaped projections (10) extend into the corresponding recesses (16) of the cover plate (14), the cover plate (14) covering and securing the shower head spout (15). The individual shower holes (12, 13) are formed in the nozzle-shaped projections (10) and are thus pierced through the pins (7, 8) in the rest position. If water is passed through the water supply (5) into the shower head (3) and onto the nozzle plate (9), this is from the Pins (7, 8) pushed down so that the shower holes (12, 13) are then free. If the water supply is shut off, the springs (17), which will be discussed in more detail later, push the nozzle plate (9) back into the rest position, where the shower holes (12, 13) pierce through the pins (7, 8) are. A permanent cleaning success is given.

The nozzle-shaped projections (10) which protrude above the nozzle plate (9) are supported in the region of the recesses (16) of the cover plate (14) via webs (18, 19), the free edges (20) of these webs (18, 19) are designed so that the nozzle-shaped lugs (10) rest. This results in a circular, continuous flow ring for the water when the soft position is set, in which case, as is shown in FIG. 7, air can flow into the interior of the shower head (3) in order to mix with the water.

Fig. 2 shows a plan view of the cover plate (14), in particular the hole and nozzle circles (23, 24) can be seen and the webs (18, 19) formed in the individual recesses (16). Also indicated are the cams (25) on which the springs (17), which are not shown here, are supported or are guided through them. This cam (25) can also be seen in FIG. 3, a section through the cover plate (14), the section through recesses (16) of the hole or nozzle circles (23, 24) being shown on the opposite side.

Dieser Duschwasseraustritt ist mit (42) bezeichnet.6 and 7 show the water flow when the spray position is switched on and in FIG. 7 the soft position, for which purpose the water is passed through the channel (28) and, according to FIG. 7, through the channel (29). 5 and 8 show a section through the water supply (5) or the corresponding part, which is fixed in the housing (6). It is clearly recognizable that the water in the soft position, the switch (30) is passed into the channel (29), from where it is distributed in the middle past the nozzle plate (9) onto the cover plate (14). Air is sucked in centrally over the suction part (41), which is indicated by the arrows, so that with this soft setting water-air mixture can flow out through the recesses (16). This shower water outlet is labeled (42).

The switch (30) or rotary distributor (4) is a part that can be easily operated with a finger, which, as already mentioned, is arranged between the shower head (3) and the handle part (2) and with the inlet end (31) in the water supply (5) or on the pipe end piece (32). The knobs (33), which can be moved in the slot guide (34) from one end position to the other, take over the guiding and rotation limitation. The version shown in these figures represents a two-function shower. In the case of a single-function shower, this changeover switch (30) is dispensed with and the water flows exclusively as indicated in FIG. 6 via the water supply (5) and the channel (28) onto the nozzle plate ( 9).

Fig. 8 zeigt die Ausbildung der Stifte (7, 8). Fig. 8 shows the formation of the pins (7, 8). In the embodiment shown here, there are the cylindrical end pieces (36) and the pockets (37) receiving them. The pockets (37) are in turn directly connected to the component, which is referred to here as water supply (5).

Fig. 9 shows the nozzle plate (9) in plan view and Fig. 10 in cross section. This nozzle plate (9) is equipped with the nozzle-shaped lugs (10) recognizable in both corridors, the latter being shown enlarged in FIG. 11. It is clear that these approaches take the pins (7, 8), not shown here, whereby the shape of both parts ensures that when Moving the nozzle plate (9) up and down may cause caking, so that they are then carried away to the outside by the outlet nozzles (39, 40) with the water, so that an always clean outlet nozzle (39, 40) is available.

All of the features mentioned, including those that can be seen in the drawings alone, are regarded as essential to the invention, alone and in combination.
