Abstract

In a shower head with water jet nozzles, in particular for sanitary applications, it is proposed, for the sake of preventing calcium deposits in the region of the cross-section producing the jet, that the water jet nozzles each have a nozzle channel whose jet-producing cross-section is constructed upstream of the outlet opening and that in the flow direction the remaining section of the channel with the outlet opening is widened. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower head with water jet nozzles, in particular for the sanitary area. Such a shower device is known for example from the document DE-OS 24 59 316. In this case, approximately cylindrical bores are arranged as water jet nozzles in an elastically deformable membrane-like disc which is held in the shower head housing. During the operation of sanitary showers, excretions, especially lime from the shower water, are deposited in the area of the water outlet openings and cause unwanted incrustations, which can significantly impair the functionality of the shower after a relatively short period of use. Slight bending of the membrane-like disc caused by fluctuations in water pressure can break off occasional lime crusts, but in general the deflections are not sufficient to keep the water outlet openings free of calcification. In addition, the shower jets receive a change in direction when the membrane is deflected, which is usually undesirable.

The invention is based on the object of designing the water jet nozzles in the shower head in such a way that the lime deposits from the shower water occur essentially harmlessly outside the cross-section of the jet generation.
This object is achieved in that the water jet nozzles each have a nozzle channel, the jet generation cross section of which is formed upstream of the outlet opening and the remaining channel section is expanded with the outlet opening in the direction of flow. These measures ensure that when the shower is not in use, the water evaporates in the area of the enlarged outlet openings and the limescale deposits that occur in this area are thus harmless in this area. This prevents water evaporation in the area of the jet generation cross-section further upstream. There can therefore be no limescale deposits in the area of the jet generation cross section, so that constant shower jets can be generated in the nozzle channel over a long period of use. Further refinements of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 10.

For the sake of simplicity, the same or corresponding elements are provided with the same reference numerals in the exemplary embodiments in the drawing.

The nozzle channels 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 5 are each arranged on one or more arcs of a shower base 2 and are acted upon by the inflowing water in the direction of arrow 13 during shower operation. The shower jet generated in the nozzle channel 1 is determined by the jet generation cross section 10. The beam generation cross section 10 generally has a circular area, the diameter of which is approximately 1 to 2 mm.

In Fließrichtung, hinter dem Strahlerzeugungsquerschnitt 10, ist eine Kanalstrecke 11 zunächst beschleunigt erweitert ausgebildet, um dann im Endbereich verlangsamt nahezu keineIn the nozzle duct 1 shown in FIG. 1, the jet generation cross section 10 is arranged in the region of the upper edge of the shower base 2. In the direction of flow, behind the jet generation cross section 10, a channel section 11 is initially designed to be expanded in an accelerated manner, and then almost none in the end region is slowed down

Extension to learn more. The shower jet formed in the jet generation cross section 10 is indicated in dashed lines in the nozzle channel 1. The occurring during the standstill of the shower operation Brausewasserverdunstun conditions in the area of the water outlet opening 12 can thus be deposited harmlessly in the spherical annular space of the channel section 11 without the emerging shower jet being hindered thereby.

The nozzle channel 1 shown in FIG. 2 is expanded abruptly behind the jet generation cross section 10.

The nozzle duct 1 shown in FIG. 3, on the other hand, has a continuous widening downstream of the jet generation cross section 10 up to the outlet opening 12.

Hierdurch kann der gesamte Düsenkanal 1 als konischer Durchbruch ausgebildet sein.FIG. 4 shows a nozzle duct 1, the jet generation cross section 10 of which coincides with the upper edge of the shower base 2. As a result, the entire nozzle channel 1 can be designed as a conical opening.

Zur sicheren Halterung des schlauchartigen Düsenkanals 1 imFinally, FIG. 5 shows a nozzle channel 1 made of a hose-like, elastic material, which can be buttoned into a shower base 2 designed as a supporting body. The hose-like part of the nozzle channel 1 has an arched widening in accordance with FIG. The hose-like part of the nozzle channel 1 projects with an end region 14 on the downstream side of the shower base, so that in the case of very strong limescale deposits in the region of the outlet opening 12 these can be removed very easily by simply rolling the end regions 14 by hand. To securely hold the hose-like nozzle channel 1 in

Shower base 2 is secured upstream with a collar 15 in the plug-in position. Instead of special nozzle channels 1 that can be buttoned into the shower base 2, nozzle channels 1 formed directly in the shower base 2 can also be provided, each of which is surrounded on the downstream side by a protruding, flexible end piece or end area 14. These end pieces can be formed directly on the shower base or glued or vulcanized as separate parts.

Finally, FIG. 6 shows a hand shower 3 in part, in which a shower base is provided which is formed from an upper base part 21 and a lower base part 22. As a result, the beam generation cross sections 10 and in the base part 22 the expanded channel sections 11 can be formed as through bores in the base part 21.
The two base parts 21, 22 are arranged at a short distance, for example 1 mm, from one another in the housing of the hand shower 3, so that a gap 23 is created. A channel 24 is also formed concentrically in the upper base part 21 and is connected to the interior of the hand shower 3 via a valve 25 which responds to the water pressure. The hand shower 3 specified above has the following mode of operation:
During shower operation, the pressurized water is pressed into the shower head of the hand shower 3 via the handle, the static pressure in the jet generation cross sections 10 being converted into flow velocity, so that individual shower jets reach the outside without contact through the gap 23 and the channel sections 11. The valve 25 is pressed into the closed position by the pressurized water in the hand shower 3, so that no water can get into the gap 23 via the channel 24.

Der mit dem Restwasser gefüllte Spalt 23 bildet einen Wasserfilm, der somit die stromaufwärts gelegenen feinen Strahlerzeugungsquerschnitte 10 im Düsenkanal 1 gegen Verkalkung schütztIf the water supply is now shut off, the pressure in the shower head of the hand shower 3 drops and the valve 25 opens at a pressure of, for example, 0.2 bar. Water can now flow through the channel 24 into the gap 23 and fill it up, the liquid pressure in the hand shower 3 having dropped to atmospheric pressure, so that no more shower jets emerge from the jet generation cross sections 10. The gap 23 filled with the residual water forms a water film, which thus protects the upstream fine jet generation cross sections 10 in the nozzle channel 1 against calcification
