Definitions

  • the invention relates to a pack for flowable filling material with tubular side walls, bottom and top wall and with a closable pouring device with a hole located within the outer contour of the bottom and top wall, all parts of the pack consisting of deformable plastic, preferably a thermoplastic, one of the seam protruding from the side walls of the pack is formed from two webs which can be welded to one another, the pack lying in a plane which is parallel to the longitudinal center axis of the tube is arranged, moves and region of the bottom is arranged to run in a depression, according to the preamble of patent claims 1.
  • the top wall of the known pack is beveled in cross-section in a roof shape, a pouring opening being provided at one end and a handle with a through opening being provided at the opposite end.
  • the seam protrudes beyond the outer contour of the pack, making stacking difficult, if not impossible.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a pack with features similar to the type mentioned, which is inexpensive and mass-produced, perfectly liquid-tight, easy to open and easy to stack.
  • this object is achieved in that the bottom and the top wall are substantially flat, that the recess is groove-shaped in cross section, that the seam also extends in the recess in the region of the top wall in such a way that the seam is interrupted by the pouring device that the hole in the top floor is surrounded by a raised, part-cylinder-shaped edge, the height of which in the area next to the hole is equal to the height of the adjacent seam, and that an enlarged part of the groove-shaped depression in the top wall surrounds the pouring device.
  • the new pack has both an approximately flat bottom and an essentially flat top wall, so that the stability and stackability of the new pack is considerably improved.
  • the seam surrounding the pack is an excellent stiffening and does not interfere with the stackability, because it runs in a groove-like depression both in the bottom and in the top wall.
  • the pack With the new one With a seam and recess, the pack must be perfectly liquid-tight and inexpensive to mass-produce.
  • the plastic material allows environmentally friendly waste disposal after using and emptying the package according to the invention.
  • the strength and stability of the entire pack also contributes to the fact that the hole is surrounded by the above-mentioned upstanding edge in the form of a partial cylinder jacket, because the top wall is considerably stiffened by the folding out of this edge.
  • the upper edge of the adjacent seam continues practically continuously in the upper free edge of the upstanding collar at the hole, as a result of which the structure of the pack in the area of the pouring device is simplified and nevertheless stable and stiffened.
  • the adjustment of the seam height and the edge height of the hole allows the overall height of the protruding parts to be adjusted in such a way that the pouring device does not protrude beyond the outer contour of the pack even when the opening piece is inserted.
  • the tube representing the side walls can be round or oval in cross section, but the packing is preferably cuboid.
  • the side walls form a tube with a square cross section, which preferably has rounded edges, and if the seam runs along the diagonals of the top wall.
  • the seam runs diagonally through the packing according to the invention in such a way that the top wall is preferably divided into two halves, and the seam is also interrupted by the pouring device. Due to the formation of the package according to the invention from two halves, the seam runs practically on the top wall outside the pouring opening.
  • the seam is a short distance of e.g.
  • the pouring device has an edge around a hole in the top wall, which, where the seam is interrupted, that is to say does not exist, stiffens the package.
  • the seam practically starts at this edge of the hole in the top wall, preferably on both sides of the hole in the top wall, so that the top wall also has excellent rigidity in the region of the pouring device.
  • the parts of the pack consist of cold or hot deformable plastic materials.
  • the plastic material of the package should preferably be thermoformed, in particular a thermoplastic, such as polypropene.
  • PVC and polypropene for example, can also serve as the thermoplastic is widely known in the art as polypropylene.
  • the package according to the invention then consists of perfectly reprocessable parts and materials (in contrast to composite materials).
  • the plastic material for example the polypropene, can also be filled, the fillers here being chalk, mica, talc, plaster or the like. In practice, filling levels of around 60% have proven to be favorable. It has been shown that such filled plastic materials are deep-drawable and also sealable.
  • the pack according to the invention can also be formed from two cup-shaped fractions, both of which are welded to form a unit along the webs lying one on the end.
  • At least two side walls each have a recess as a recessed grip.
  • a trough can be produced relatively easily with a thermoplastic, either by cold working or by the usual deep-drawing process.
  • the recessed grips replace a handle attached to the outside of the pack.
  • the outer contour of the pack can be made stack-friendly.
  • the trough can be shaped such that the volume of the container itself is not significantly impaired or reduced. If the recessed grips are intended for a pack with a cuboid tube, it is best to arrange them on both sides of a longitudinal edge between two side walls, which is parallel to the longitudinal center line of the pack and runs through the plane with the seam.
  • the recessed grips Towards the "back” the recessed grips then end gently tapering in the outer longitudinal edge described and are located approximately in the upper half of a pack; in the case of packs with a smaller volume, for example 1/2 liter or 1/4 liter, approximately in the middle of the side wall with respect to them Height.
  • the respective recessed grip ends (of course at a considerable distance from the pouring device) approximately in the region of a longitudinal side edge of the tube, which could be called the "middle longitudinal side edge” because it is not the front longitudinal side edge which lies below the pouring edge next to the pouring device and is also not the rear longitudinal side edge which was described above.
  • the middle longitudinal side edges one could imagine a plane again, and then this plane would be perpendicular to the plane mentioned above, which runs through the seam.
  • the invention is also advantageously designed in such a way that the pouring device has a separate opening piece made of deformable plastic which is inserted into a hole in the upper wall and welded in the upper wall.
  • the production of such a package is then particularly simple, since the tube with the bottom and top wall made of the deformable plastic then only needs to be formed with a hole in the top wall, into which a correspondingly designed opening piece is welded as a pouring device.
  • This opening piece can be prefabricated separately and inserted with high performance (number of pieces per unit of time) into the hole in the top wall of the pack and welded there. It is particularly advantageous if the opening piece of the pouring device has a lower part and a closure part connected to it by a hinge.
  • the lower part is then welded into the hole in the top wall of the pack in the manner described, and the closure part is connected to the lower part on the one hand via the hinge and on the other hand to the lower part via a weld line.
  • the lower part is sealed to the closure part along a weld line which defines the pouring opening and that the opening piece has a cup-shaped depression which receives the pouring opening.
  • the lower part is thus connected to the closure part in such a way that when the pack is finished, filled and not yet opened, both parts of the opening piece, namely the lower part and the closure part, close the hole in the top wall of the pack like a piece and, if necessary, liquid-tight keep closed.
  • Both the lower part and the closure part have the cup-shaped depression mentioned, so that in addition to the adhesive or sealing force between the hole edge in the upper wall of the pack and the lower part there is also a certain positive connection between the upper wall and the opening piece.
  • the tear force is introduced into the welding line in such a way that the tear piece lying within the welding line adheres to the closure part and is torn out of the lower part in such a way that - determined by the course of the welding line - the Pour opening results. This creates a clearly defined opening that is easy to manufacture and can even be closed by the end user after the first opening.
  • the opening piece is welded along the edge of the hole in the top wall. This is the measure already indicated above for the practical fastening of the prefabricated opening piece after it has been inserted into the hole in the upper wall.
  • this Closure part on a plate covering the casting surface of the lower part with gripping tip is designed such that its lower part has a pouring surface which surrounds the pouring opening and which advantageously functions as a pouring edge at the foremost tip or edge.
  • This pouring surface which is generally flat, should - not least also for hygienic reasons - be covered after reclosing until the second or third pouring process.
  • This cover is provided by the plate of the closure part, which, like the casting surface, engages around the cup-shaped depression of the opening piece.
  • the plate has a tip in the direction of the pouring jet, that is to say toward the front longitudinal side edge of the pack, which the end user can use to grip the closure part and tear it up. This tip can also be understood as a gripping aid.
  • the package used in the preferred embodiments described here is for milk, juices, or the like.
  • the respective package consists of a tube 1 with a quadrangular cross section and four side walls 2, 3, 4, because the fourth side wall is not shown in any drawing. But you can imagine the side wall 3 diametrically opposite.
  • the four side walls 2 to 4 are separated from one another by longitudinal side edges, all of which lie parallel to the longitudinal center line 5 of the pack. These are the front longitudinal side edge 6, the rear longitudinal side edge 7 and the two central longitudinal side edges 8, which are diametrically opposite one another between the front 6 and the rear longitudinal side edge 7 opposite.
  • the middle longitudinal side edges are indicated by a line, but in reality all the longitudinal side edges are rounded, which is why no sharp line 8 can be seen, particularly in the perspective representations.
  • the level of the top wall 9 can be clearly seen, because the pouring device, generally designated 10, occupies only a small part of the top wall 9, for example an area of 5 to 30%, preferably 10 to 20%.
  • All parts 1 to 10 of the pack are made of thermoformed plastic.
  • 5 shows the outer contour, which is essentially cuboid with a flat top wall 9. So that no parts protrude significantly from the outer contour and thus good stackability and repackaging is possible, groove-shaped depressions 11 are provided in both the bottom and the top wall 9, in which a seam 12 runs, which is essentially perpendicular from the plane of the top wall 9 or the floor protrudes.
  • This seam 12 surrounds the entire cuboid or tube 1 of the pack, that is, it continues along the front 6 and rear longitudinal side edge 7 in such a way that the double-walled seam 12, as can be seen particularly clearly from FIG.
  • the seam 12 can protrude vertically, without being folded over and tacked onto the outer surface, without protruding beyond the outer contour of the cuboid, because the longitudinal side edges 6 to 8 of the tube 1 are rounded, and in this space created by the rounding, the seam 12 runs through the rounding of the longitudinal side edges 6 to 8 on the one hand and through the groove-shaped depressions 11 in the bottom and in the top wall of the pack, on the other hand, the seam 12 runs within the outer contour of the pack.
  • the seam 12 is interrupted by the hole 13 in the top wall 9.
  • the seam 12, which runs in a straight line over the top wall 9, ends in front of the edge 14 of the hole 13, is omitted in the region of the hole because there is no material here, and continues again on the opposite side behind the hole 13.
  • the height of the seam 12 is reduced by 5 to 30%, preferably by 10 to 15%, of the total height of the seam 12.
  • an opening piece 16 covering the hole 13 can be inserted, fastened and arranged in such a way that the pouring device 10 having the opening piece 16 does not protrude beyond the outer contour of the package.
  • an enlarged part 17 of the otherwise groove-like recess 11 is provided in the upper wall 9, in which the pouring device 10 is located, this part 17 of the recess 11 being widened so that it surrounds the pouring device 10.
  • the pouring device 10 is arranged with its opening piece 16 such that it is recessed in this part 17 and does not protrude beyond the outer surface of the upper wall 9.
  • the recess 18 defining the recessed grip is arranged in the upper half of the respective rear side wall 3 and 4, as a result of which The end user supports the pack quite close to the center of gravity, so that the pouring is very convenient and easy.
  • the surface surrounding the recess 18 (recessed grip) on the side wall 3 and also that on the adjacent side wall 4 connected to it can be provided for printing.
  • the pouring device 10 is a separate opening piece 16 inserted into the hole 10 in the top wall 9 and welded along the edge 14 of the hole 13 in the top wall 9.
  • FIGS. 6 and 7 are best considered first. From these one can see the seam 12 interrupted by the hole 13 in the top wall 9, which (according to a particularly clear illustration in FIG. 8) consists of the two webs 12 ′, 12 ′′ welded together and in the recess 11 or the widened one Well 17 runs.
  • FIG. 9 clearly shows the ring-shaped welding region illustrated by a thicker line 19 between the opening piece 16 and the hole 13.
  • the part-cylinder-shaped ring 14, which is the edge of the hole 13, forms part of this welding surface 19, because the latter continues on the top wall 9 and the recesses 15 on top of the seam 12.
  • This opening piece 16 which is welded into the hole 13 of the top wall 9 along the surface 19, in turn consists of a lower part 20 and a closure part 21 connected to it via a hinge 22.
  • a hinge 22 For a clearer representation of the hinge 22, it is best to take a look at FIG 13 also clearly shows the position of the hinge 22 in the second embodiment.
  • the opening piece 16, ie both the lower part 20 and the closure part 21, has a cup-shaped recess 23, as can be seen clearly in the cross-sectional view of FIGS. 9 and 12 is.
  • a welding line 25 which specifies the ultimately desired pouring opening 24.
  • the welding line 25 which is actually equipped with a tip 26 towards the front tip of the pouring device 10, in order to concentrate the tear-off forces described below on a point on the welding line and thereby bring the initiation of the tear force into the right place.
  • a part of the welding line 25 can be seen in cross-section through the individual view X in FIG. 9, which is more clearly shown in FIGS. 10 and 11. Before tearing, the welding line 25 surrounds the tear-out piece 27, which sticks to the closure part 21 after the tear-open and thereby defines the pouring opening 24 in the lower part 20.
  • a top view of the closed package according to FIG. 3 shows in the area of the enlarged part 17 of the recess 11 in the top wall 9 from the pouring device, generally designated 10, to the outer surface of the closure part 21 with the cup-shaped recess 23, which is the approximately circular cup-shaped recess Recess 23 surrounding field of the closure part 21 is formed as a flat plate 28 which is provided at the front with a gripping tip 29.
  • FIG. 9 clearly shows that this gripping tip 29 of the plate 28 protrudes over the so-called casting surface 30 with a casting edge 31.
  • the end user will find the package shown in FIG. 1 with the pouring device 10 closed. To open it, he grips the gripping tip 29 of the closure part 21 and pulls it up in the direction of the curved arrow 32 (FIGS. 10 and 12). Through the welding line 25 Tractive force is concentrated on the tip 26, which is why the welding line 25 also becomes the tear line that ultimately opens the pouring opening 24 after the tear.
  • the tear along this welding line 25 takes place in the manner shown schematically in FIG. 4 in such a way that the tear-out piece 27 is torn off the lower part 20 and is torn up over the remaining part of the welding line 25 on the closure part 21.
  • the closure part folds according to the illustration in FIG.
  • closure part 21 only has to be folded down again in the direction opposite the curved arrow 32 (FIG. 12).
