Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fuse housing according to the preamble of claims 1 and 3.
  • Fuses which serve to protect electrical line networks, are generally accommodated in a housing which is formed from a head made of electrically insulating material and a metal sleeve which is partially surrounded by the head.
  • the fuse is brought into contact with a connecting element located in a base by screwing the head with the metal sleeve and the fuse located therein into the base.
  • the head is approximately pot-shaped and has a central through opening in its pot bottom, which is closed with a glass pane and a spring clip holding the glass pane.
  • the glass pane allows a view of the inside of the head towards the fuse plate on the front of the fuse so that you can see whether the fuse has melted or not.
  • the head has three parts.
  • the design document DE-B-12 99 757 shows a fuse housing with an insulating body, into which a sleeve is inserted; Fingers pressed out of the sleeve are not used for the electrically conductive connection with a base, but rather for fixing the sleeve within the insulating body 1. Because of the fingers 5 being pressed out and additionally the punched-out beads 3, the electrically conductive element is axially fixed in the insulating body. Fingers, which can be provided for the electrically conductive connection to the base, are not shown.
  • DE-A-15 88 940 describes a fuse body in which an additional housing is inserted into an insulating body 1 with the interposition of electrically conductive elements, which additional housing forms the guide and holder for the actual fuse. Fingers or legs that pass through a slot in the insulating body 1 and are outside the core diameter of the thread are also not present in this securing body.
  • the object of the invention is to provide fuse housing of the type mentioned at the outset according to DE-B-1 299 757, which is of simplified construction and can be assembled in a simplified manner.
  • the base of the pot can be designed like a lens or magnifying glass at least in a central area, as a result of which the securing plate is visible in an enlarged manner, so that the response of the securing device can be assessed more easily.
  • a wall thickness which is thinner than the remaining area of the insulating part can be provided in a central area. This also provides an optimal view of the securing plate. Because of a somewhat simplified tool, this version with the thinner wall thickness can be somewhat cheaper than the version with the lens-like or magnifying glass-like thickening.
  • the inside of the head is provided with latching means which engage with latching means on the sleeve for the firm connection of the sleeve and the pot.
  • Another attachment of the electrically conductive element to the bottom of the pot can be done in that at least one knob is formed on the inside of the bottom of the pot, which in an electrically adapted opening in the engages conductive element and is fixed therein by plastic deformation.
  • This definition of the electrically conductive element within the pot is easier insofar as the production of a latching is no longer necessary.
  • the knob or knobs could also be formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical part of the fuse housing instead of on the inside of the pot base.
  • a further embodiment of the invention in particular the fastening of the electrically conductive part within the insulating part, can mean that the electrically conductive element is held non-positively in the insulating part against the inner surface of the cylindrical wall of the insulating part by resilient tongues.
  • the electrically conductive part is simply inserted into the interior of the insulating part for the purpose of assembly and is then virtually clamped therein.
  • the electrically conductive part can be designed as a metal sleeve known per se, which is partially surrounded by the insulating part.
  • the insulating part with a screw thread on its outer surface, so that the insulating part itself can be inserted and screwed into the internal thread of the base.
  • the electrically conductive element will either be designed as a U-shaped, resilient strip conductor, the limbs of which penetrate a longitudinal slot in the insulating part in the region of the screw thread and outside the envelope cylinder surface formed by the core diameter of the screw thread are located; in the case of a sleeve, resilient tongues can be punched out and bent out on the cylindrical region of the sleeve, which in the same way as the legs of the resilient strip conductors each penetrate a longitudinal slot in the insulating part and are also located outside the envelope cylinder surface formed by the core diameter of the screw thread.
  • an electrically conductive connection to the external thread on the base is formed by means of the sections projecting beyond the core diameter.
  • a further advantageous embodiment of the invention can be such that two diametrically opposite, in a plane passing through the central axis of the head are formed on the outer wall of the head. This makes it easier to turn the head.
  • the configuration according to the invention is therefore considerably simpler in comparison to the prior art because of the smaller number of individual parts and, moreover, it is also easier to use, and it is also easier to see whether the fuse has responded or not.
  • the fuse housing consists of a pot-shaped insulating part 30 which has a pot base 31 which receives a metal sleeve 32.
  • the insulating part 30 completely encloses the metal sleeve 32. It has an external thread section 34 at its end region opposite the pot bottom 31, the thread turns of which are designed such that they can be inserted or screwed into an internal thread on a base for receiving a fuse.
  • the insulating part 30 each has a longitudinal slot 35 and 36, which longitudinal slots 35 and 36 are arranged diametrically opposite one another.
  • the metal sleeve 32 is provided with a bottom 33 which has a central bore 34, the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the central bore 15 of FIG. 2.
  • the sleeve has outwardly bent contact fingers 37 and 38 which are bent back towards their free end, so that the contact fingers 37 and 38 form a kind of contact belly, the maximum diameter corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of the threaded section. In any case, the maximum diameter of the two contact fingers 37 and 38 must be significantly larger than the core diameter of the threaded section 34.
  • the insulating part 30 is the same as the head 10, the equality being emphasized with the same reference numbers for elements having the same effect.
  • the insulating part 30 consists in its entirety of clear, transparent material into which the metal sleeve is inserted in the same way as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the metal sleeve 13 is inserted in the same way as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • FIG. 2 it would also be the possibility in the embodiment according to FIG. 2 to inject the metal sleeve 13 into the head 10, so that a spray connection is achieved between the two parts.
  • FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment of the invention.
  • the fuse housing is formed by a pot-like insulating part 50 with a pot base 51, in which two approximately L-shaped contact elements 52 and 53 arranged opposite one another are inserted.
  • FIG. 6 shows such a contact element 52. It has a first leg 54, which has a bore 55, and a second leg 56, which is bent outwards approximately in its center at a kink line 57, that is to say counter to the direction of the leg 54 . At the free end there is a nose 58 which projects radially outwards.
  • This contact piece or contact element is inserted into the interior of the insulating part 50 in such a way that the bore 55 receives a pin 59 formed on the base 51 of the insulating part 50.
  • the electrically conductive contact piece 52 is fastened to the insulating part 50 by plastic deformation of this pin, which passes through the bore 55.
  • the insulating part 50 has at its end opposite the bottom diametrically opposite slots 60 and 61, the circumferential dimensions of which correspond to the width of the leg 56, so that the area between the kink 57 and the free end of the leg 56 fits through this slot, so that the nose 58 projects beyond the outer surface of the cylindrical section 62 of the insulating part 50, so that there two opposing lugs are formed, which can be inserted like a bayonet lock into a corresponding receiving space on a base for receiving the securing element.
  • the leg 56 is guided in the circumferential direction by side edges of the slots 60 and 61.
  • a circular recess is formed in the outer surface of the bottom 51 of the insulating body 50, so that an area 64 with a relatively thin wall thickness is formed, the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the securing plate, so that the securing plate is visible from the outside.
  • the nose 59 and the bore 55 must of course be dimensioned such that the electrically conductive contact piece 16 of the fuse 17 always bears against the legs 54. Accordingly, the bore 55 and thus also the nose or the projection 59 must be arranged relatively far outward, as seen from the center line.
  • the leg 56 is adapted to the inner surface of the cylindrical wall region 62 of the insulating part 50, so that it is convexly bent outwards. But this does not have to be the case; if the two contact pieces 52 and 53 are narrower, then the legs 56 can also be flat in themselves.
  • the head 11 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 On the outer surface - diametrically opposite one another - the head 11 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 have two ears 24 and 25 lying in one plane, which protrude beyond the pot bases 11, 31 and 51 in the axial direction, in the axial direction essentially over the whole Length of the wall 12 of the head 10 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 extend and protrude radially, so that two handles are formed with which the head 10 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 and thus the metal sleeve 13 and the sleeve 32 and the contact pieces 52 and 53 can be rotated.
  • the side surfaces of the ears 25 and 26 are provided with a corrugation 26 running in the axial direction in order to achieve better handling.
  • the material of the head 10 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 is electrically insulating material which is clearly transparent, so that openings which have to be sealed with a glass pane are no longer required.
  • the head 10 and the insulating parts 30 and 50 essentially from not clearly transparent plastic and the base 11, 31 and 51 from clearly transparent plastic. The technical possibility for this exists as required.
  • a U-shaped part could also be used.
  • the sleeve could be designed in the manner shown in FIG. 2, but without bottom 14, and instead of bottom 14, only two or three are radial contact lugs protruding inwards are provided.
  • the insulating part could also consist of transparent material only in the area of the floor, but of opaque material in the remaining area.
