Definitions

  • the invention relates to inlet and outlet lines according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the US 1,919,793 shows an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a comparable embodiment shows the US 1,490,604.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to take such precautions on the inlet and outlet lines that, on the one hand, they are easier to assemble and, on the other hand, the inlet and outlet pipes in the area of the fastening flanges can be easily optimized with respect to cross section.
  • the main advantages achieved with the invention can be seen in the fact that by combining the inlet and outlet pipes to form a structural unit, the number of screws penetrating the fastening flanges and the assembly effort can be reduced.
  • the space between the inlet and outlet pipes of the inlet and outlet lines in the area of the fastening flanges can be used for the cross-sectional design of these pipes.
  • the screws of the mounting flanges can be arranged so that the cross section of the inlet and outlet pipes is not affected by them.
  • the type of screw arrangement ensures that the assembly is securely attached to the cylinder head.
  • a cylinder head 2 which has an inlet line 4 and an outlet line 5 on an upright longitudinal side 3 - uniflow principle -;
  • the inlet and outlet lines 4, 5 are a unit 6 cast, for example, in ferrous metal material - made from one piece - and have inlet pipes 7, 8, 9, 10 and outlet pipes 11, 12, 13, 14.
  • the exhaust pipes 11, 12, 13, 14 are guided away from fastening plates 16, 17, 18, 19 connected to the cylinder head 2 by means of screws 15 and run in an arc in the direction (B) of the oil pan or roadway (not shown) and open into a connecting flange 20 for an exhaust system.
  • the tubes 11 and 12, 12 and 13 and 13 and 14 are connected to one another with gusset-like stiffeners 21, 22, 23.
  • the inlet pipes 7, 8, 9, 10 are also led away from the mounting plates 16, 17, 18, 19 and extend in the opposite direction with respect to the outlet pipes, these inlet pipes ending in the region of a support flange 24 which carries a suction system, not shown .
  • the inlet and outlet pipes on the fastening plates 16, 17, 18, 19 are arranged as follows:
  • the two outer inlet pipes 7 and 10 lie between the outlet pipes 11 and 12 or 13 and 14, whereas the inner inlet pipes 8 and 9 are arranged between the outlet pipes 12 and 13.
  • the pairing of the inlet and outlet pipes on the fastening plates is appropriate according to the following structure: inlet pipe 7 with outlet pipe 11, inlet pipe 8 with outlet pipe 12, outlet pipe 13 with inlet pipe 9 and outlet pipe 14 with inlet pipe 10.
  • Thermal expansion slots 25, 26, 27 are provided in the mounting plates 16, 17, 18, 19 between the paired inlet and outlet pipes. They can be formed by incisions 28 or openings 28 '(FIG. 3). However, there is also the possibility of designing the thermal expansion slots 25, 26, 27 in such a way that the fastening plates 16, 17, 18, 19 are separate plate sections 29, 29 ', 30, 31. From each plate section e.g. an outlet pipe 11 and an inlet pipe 7 led away. In addition, each plate section 29, 29 ', 30, 31 is fastened to the cylinder head 2 with three screws 32, 33, 34, the screw 34 being provided in the region of the thermal expansion slot 25, that is to say also for fastening the plate section 29 or the fastening plate 16 serves.
  • the holes 35, 36, 37, 38 and 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, which penetrate the screws for holding the mounting plates 16, 17, 18, 19, are arranged on both sides of a horizontal central longitudinal plane CC on construction lines DD and EE , which run parallel to the central longitudinal plane CC; the latter includes approximately a mouth plane (G-G) (Fig. 1) of the inlet and outlet pipes on the mounting plates 16, 17, 18, 19.
  • connecting webs 45, 46 are provided which extend, for example, between inlet pipe 8 and outlet pipe 12 or inlet pipe 9 and outlet pipe 13.
