Definitions

  • the invention relates to a profile grinding unit with a frame which a driven grinding belt revolves around rollers, two of which are arranged so that their connecting line is in the transport direction of a workpiece, and with at least one tool holder attached to the frame, to which a tool of the desired profile shape can be attached is that the grinding belt presses against the workpiece being transported past.
  • Such profile grinding units designed as belt grinding units are known. With their frame in which the deflection rollers for the sanding belt are fastened, they are regularly arranged on a transport route of a woodworking machine in such a way that they can grind the edges in the desired manner.
  • the deflecting rollers are arranged, for example, in the form of a triangle, an upper deflecting roller arranged symmetrically to the other two rollers being adjustable by means of a cylinder at a distance from the connecting line between the two other rollers in order to achieve a desired tension of the sanding belt. It is known to pivotally arrange the frames of the grinding units in order to vary the angle at which the grinding belt engages the workpiece.
  • the tools - also for the production of more complicated profile shapes - are designed in such a way that you can grind the complete profile shape if possible. The resulting grinding processes are not without problems.
  • DE-A-33 08 606 describes a profile grinding unit of the type mentioned at the beginning.
  • a tool holder As a tool holder, this has a piston which can be displaced linearly with a cylinder in the direction of the grinding belt and into which different grinding shoes can be inserted with a changing device.
  • the entire frame is rotatably mounted about an axis, and the adjustment of the inclination angle of the frame can be carried out automatically with the aid of an adjusting cylinder. Since the tool holder is designed to be non-rotatable relative to the frame, the angle of the frame to the workpiece is also determined by adjusting the angle of the frame to the workpiece.
  • DE-A-30 34 206 describes a profile grinding machine which consists of several grinding units. Each grinding unit has two grinding blocks arranged one behind the other, which are attached to a frame-like device.
  • the frame-like fastening of the grinding blocks can be detachably fastened in a machine frame in several angular positions, for which purpose ring segment-shaped holders are provided which have fastening bores arranged on a circular path.
  • the sanding blocks are coated with sandpaper, so the device is not a belt grinder.
  • the invention is based on the object of designing a profile grinding unit of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that variable use is possible without major modifications and without great mechanical outlay.
  • a profile grinding unit of the type mentioned at the outset in that the tool holder is fastened to a holder which is fixed relative to the frame and has a contact surface which is arranged perpendicularly to the plane and direction of movement of the workpiece and that the holder and / or the tool holder is designed for releasable attachment of the tool holder in different angular positions.
  • the tool holder can thus be fastened in the profile grinding unit at different angular positions, so that the angular position of the tool can be changed without having to change the arrangement of the entire grinding unit. While the new setup of the grinding unit requires readjustment of the entire frame in three axes, the angle change for the tool holder can be carried out quickly and without great effort.
  • the adjustment of the tool holder can be used to set angular positions in relation to the workpiece, which under some circumstances cannot be achieved by adjusting the entire frame for reasons of space or construction.
  • the holder and / or the tool holder has a plurality of holes which are aligned with at least two holes of the tool or the holder for fastening the tool holder in different angular positions. In this way, simply by inserting screws, bayonet locks or the like. the tool holder (new) can be attached to the holder.
  • the arrangement according to the invention offers particular advantages if at least two tool holders are fastened in different angular positions in the frame of the profile grinding unit. This makes it possible to distribute the grinding process for a profile over two or more tool holders that engage the workpiece in different angular positions and grind profile sections. This makes the grinding process much easier to control, even with workpiece tolerances, and higher quality can be achieved.
  • the two tool holders can be fastened to a common holder arranged between them, or can be connected directly to one another in the conveying direction and fastened to one holder each on the sides facing away from one another.
  • the arrangement according to the invention can also be designed with a tool holder which is designed as a tool turret with several different tools, the axis of rotation of which - in contrast to conventional arrangements - lies parallel to the conveying direction.
  • the tool is attached to the tool holder with a connecting piece which can be pivoted in the direction of the angular adjustment.
  • This connector can also allow a displacement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder.
  • the connector can be used to fine-tune the tool relative to the workpiece.
  • the tool holder can preferably be adjusted relative to the holder on a circular arc.
  • a plurality of holes lie on an arc. It may be expedient if at least one of the at least two holes in the tool holder or the holder is an elongated hole.
  • both the tool holder and the holder have a plurality of holes in the form of hole patterns.
  • FIG. 1 shows an essentially triangular frame 1 of a profile grinding unit, on which two lower deflection rollers 2 are held parallel to a workpiece 3 and an upper deflection roller 4 arranged symmetrically thereto.
  • the two inclined legs 5 of the essentially triangular frame 1 are connected to one another by a cross member 6 running parallel to the workpiece 3.
  • a fastening tab 8 is screwed onto this crossbar and holds a pressure cylinder 7, the piston 9 of which is connected to the upper roller 4 and is therefore suitable for adjusting the tension of an abrasive belt 10 rotating around the three deflecting rollers 2, 4.
  • the upper deflection roller 4 is driven by means of a motor 11.
  • a bracket 13 is fastened to the crossmember 6 via a screw flange 12, which is perpendicular to the transport plane of the workpiece 3 and perpendicular to the transport direction of the workpiece 3, which is connected to the connecting line between the two lower deflection rollers 2 matches.
  • the tools 15, 15' carry.
  • the tools 15, 15 ' press the peripheral grinding belt 10 in the desired manner against the edge of the workpiece 3 and thus determine the grinding process.
  • the two tool holders 14, 14 ' are in different angular positions to the workpiece 3, as will be explained in more detail below.
  • FIG. 2 shows an illustration of a holder 13 which has a sickle-like attachment 16 with an arc-like arrangement of a plurality of holes 17.
  • the sickle-like approach 16 ' is much wider and has a plurality of holes 17 which form a sickle-like grid.
  • This bracket 13 'therefore allows a greater range of variation when attaching a tool holder 14, 14'.
  • Figure 4 shows a tool holder 14 which is screwed to the brackets 13, 13 '.
  • the tool holder 14 has two lateral lugs 18, each of which carries a hole 19, the spacing of which matches the spacing of the holes 17, as is illustrated in FIG. 7.
  • the side lugs 18 ', 18 ⁇ are designed so that one shoulder 18, three parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder 14 a carries round holes 19, while the other side extension 18' with an elongated hole 19 'is equipped, which extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder 14 a. Due to the elongated hole 19 ', this tool holder 14 a can be easily attached in the hole pattern of the crescent-shaped projection 16' of the bracket 13 'in different angular positions.
  • a large variation of the fastenings can be achieved with the tool holder 14 b, which is shown in Figure 6.
  • Figures 7 and 8 show an arrangement in which two tool holders 14, 14 'are screwed to a holder 13.
  • the associated tools 15, 15 'are fastened to the tool holders 14, 14' via connecting pieces 20 which pivot the tool 15, 15 'relative to the tool holder 14, 14' and, if appropriate, a lateral displacement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder 14, 14 ′ enable.
  • This allows a fine adjustment of the tool 15, 15 'relative to the workpiece after the previous rough adjustment by attaching the tool holder 14, 14' to the bracket 13.
  • the two tool holders 14, 14 ' are arranged on both sides on a common holder 13 arranged between them.
  • Figure 9 illustrates an analogous arrangement of two tool holders 14, 14 'in different angular positions, which are held with a smaller space in which they are held on the sides facing away from each other with their own bracket 13, which are located on a common mounting flange 12' .
  • an edge of a workpiece 3 can be machined with high quality by the two immediately successive tools 15, 15 'arranged in different angular positions, the two tools being held in a profile grinding unit.
  • the angle adjustment of the tool holder 14, 14 'in the plug-in system allows a quick change with high variability of the tool arrangements.
