Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical contact mat with at least two electrically conductive plates arranged at a distance from one another in the idle state, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • Such contact plates are used in various ways as security devices, as warning devices, and possibly also as burglar protection.
  • US-A-4,172,216 From US-A-4,172,216 an electrical contact mat with at least two spaced apart, made of rubber, plastic and the like. Made of rubber, plastic and the like. Is known. The electrical conductivity is generated by admixing conductive substances and the distance by non-conductive spacer is made. Contactors are provided between the plates, which, after the spacers have been compressed by a predetermined value, establish an electrical connection between the plates and are operatively connected to an electrical evaluation unit. In US-A-4,172,216, the contactors are introduced in an electrically conductive plate and are formed in the form of points or nubs, these contactors only occupying a small part of the entire surface of the plate.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to provide an electrical contact mat which, despite its great robustness and reliability, is suitable for ensuring reliable contact tripping even with small, in particular point-like, loads.
  • the plates should have good stabilization with respect to one another and be suitable for a wide range of uses, for example also in connection with non-flat surfaces.
  • the object of the invention is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Further embodiments are specified in the subclaims.
  • Both the contactors and the spacers can be arranged as individual parts or as individual elements between the plates, it being essentially only important that the spacers are designed to be insulating, while the contactors have good electrical conductivity.
  • the contactors can be designed, for example, as balls or rods, preferably made of metal, which are arranged between the spacers which have perforations, recesses or the like.
  • the spacers or spacer strips or plates preferably have groove-shaped or V-shaped recesses on the end faces facing the balls or rods in order to keep the balls or rods at a distance from both plates.
  • the balls or rods can also have projections, which engage in recesses in the spacers, spacer strips or spacer plates, so that the contactors are thereby held at a distance from both plates, so that an electrical double break occurs.
  • the contactors and spacers are provided on and connected to at least one plate.
  • the spacers are made of a rubber or plastic that has no conductive admixture, while the rest of the area, i.e. the plates and the contactors are made of a rubber or plastic mixture which has an admixture of conductive substances such as carbon black, graphite, metal powder and the like.
  • inserts made of metal wires, metal braids, grids and the like can also be incorporated. Depending on the design of these inserts, which are also made of non-metallic materials, e.g. Glass fibers, etc., can be produced, the stability or strength of the plates can be improved or increased.
  • the contactors and spacers can be designed as knobs or as strips or strips.
  • the knobs are advantageously designed as hemispheres, as cones, as truncated cones, as pyramids, as cubes, as cuboids, as columns or teeth of any shape.
  • the strips or strips have a triangular cross section, but can also have a semicircular, triangular, rectangular or trapezoidal cross section or also have a rectangular or trapezoidal cross section with additional groove or V-shaped depressions or incisions. They can be designed in open or closed forms, for example circular, honeycomb, snake, meander or zigzag.
  • a particularly good and sensitive contact results when the contactors of one plate cooperate with contactors of the other plate in a tongue and groove manner, the surfaces or surface parts arranged against one another preferably forming an acute angle to the plate surfaces.
  • the plates are cross-stabilized via the contactors.
  • the surfaces of the contactors perform a relative movement relative to one another, so that the contact surfaces are self-cleaning.
  • the switching travel can also be varied or reduced.
  • the contactors or spacers designed as knobs or strips or strips are designed asymmetrically such that the side surfaces of the contactors or spacers form different angles to the plane of the plate, the contactors or spacers can specifically fold or bend when pressed together. This results in good contact on the one hand, since a relative movement also occurs, and on the other hand the spring stiffness of the spacers can also be varied. In this context it should be emphasized that the spring rate of the contactors and spacers can be varied depending on the design or shape.
  • the spacers and / or the contactors are conical or pyramid-shaped when they are designed as Knobs or formed with a triangular cross-section in their design as strips or strips, so there is initially a relatively large movement of the two plates with each other even with low forces, which then always according to the progressiveness of the spacers or contactors due to their shape even with larger forces becomes lower.
  • the elasticity or spring stiffness can also be influenced by cavities in the spacers or contactors.
  • the cavities or channels in the spacers or contactors can be connected to a compressed air source.
  • the contactors can be enlarged so that a "test contact” can be made.
  • the supply of compressed air into the cavities of the spacers can influence the force from which the contacts are switched or the switching path is changed.
  • the contactor or spacer can also be made by attaching rubber or plastic strips, rubber or plastic plates or rubber or plastic mats to the inner wall of the plates, with rubber between the plates and the rubber or plastic strips - Or plastic plates and the like. Balls, rods and the like. Made of conductive or non-conductive material.
  • the inner surfaces of the plates or the rubber or plastic plates or rubber or plastic mats and / or the surface of the contactors can advantageously be provided with corrugations or with grooves, grooves or projections.
  • sharp-edged contact means such as metal dust and the like, incorporated.
  • the mentioned sharp-edged contact means or particles can also be glued on or pressed in or rolled up.
  • the plates are sealed on the circumference by means of an enclosure.
  • the two plates can also be of identical design, in particular with regard to the contactors and spacers attached to them, each plate, in particular at two adjacent edges, having spacers in the form of strips which engage in recesses in the counterplate and are preferably glued or welded to the latter .
  • Such a contact mat can be used directly without additional sheathing, depending on the application, the contact mats can be arranged individually or in groups in a protective mat. Gluing or welding is only necessary for the spacer strips on the edge.
  • This also creates a dense contact mat, which on the one hand closes the interior from external influences, but on the other hand also seals it, so that the interior can be filled with insulating material such as gas, atmospheric air or an insulating liquid.
  • insulating material such as gas, atmospheric air or an insulating liquid.
  • 1 and 2 denote plates on which, according to FIGS. 1 to 7, the contactors 3 and the spacers 4 are integrally formed.
  • the spacers 4 are made of insulating rubber without the addition of electrically conductive means, while the plates 1 and 2 and the contactors 3 are made of electrically conductive rubber.
  • the spacers 4 are larger or longer, so that the plates 1 and 2 or the contactors 3 are kept at a distance from the plates or contactors of the other plate. If, as shown in FIGS.
  • the spacers are compressed or deformed by the action of force, the contactors come into contact with the counter surface, so that an electrical line is produced between the plates 1 and 2 and the connected ones in the Evaluation unit (not shown) determines this contacting and triggers various types of signals.
  • the contactors or spacers can have different shapes and can be designed both in one piece and as separate parts.
  • the plates 1 and 2 are sealed by an enclosure 5.
  • This border can also be made of elastic material, such as rubber or the like, and can be glued, welded or connected in a similar manner to the plates.
  • 10 denotes an insert which, depending on the configuration, serves either to improve the electrical conductivity or to increase the mechanical strength.
