Definitions

  • the invention relates to a built-in sink, according to the preamble of claim 1 (cf. US-A-3314082).
  • Built-in sinks which are used in cut-outs in worktops, are usually designed as a combination of a sink and a draining part. In addition, other combinations are also used. All these known built-in sink combinations have in common that they are made in one piece. Stainless steel sheet, plastic, enamelled steel sheet, ceramic and similar materials are used as materials.
  • these known built-in sinks require a relatively large amount of production. For example, very large injection molds have to be used for the production of plastic built-in sinks, a separate, large and therefore expensive injection mold being required for each different type of combination. The necessarily large dimensions The known built-in sinks make transportation, storage and assembly difficult. If there is damage to the built-in sink, the repair work is high because the entire one-piece combination must be replaced in any case.
  • a sink which consists of two interconnected sinks, which are designed as separate sink modules and are positively connected to each other.
  • the two sinks are attached to a common support frame.
  • This known sink is not intended as a built-in sink.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to design a built-in sink of the type mentioned in such a way that many combinations of sink parts are possible with little outlay for the manufacture, transport, storage and assembly.
  • the modular design means that the manufacture, transport, storage and assembly are significantly simplified because the dimensions of the individual sink modules are significantly smaller than those of the built-in sink. However, this assembly to the desired combination only takes place during installation.
  • the for the production of the Tools required for individual sink parts, in particular injection molding tools in the plastic version, are considerably smaller and therefore cheaper than in the production of one-piece built-in sinks.
  • the connecting bar engaging on the adjacent connecting flanges not only creates a visually appealing transition between the adjacent sink modules, but also provides a secure connection and mutual alignment due to the positive connection with the connecting flanges.
  • the built-in sink 1 shown in FIG. 1 is built into a worktop 2.
  • the Built-in sink 1 represents a combination of a sink 3 with a drain part 4 designed as a flat sink, both of which are designed as octagonal sink modules in plan.
  • the sink 3 has a bottom 5, from which side walls 6 extend upward to a horizontal edge flange 7 which rests on the edge of the cutout of the worktop 2.
  • the draining part 4 also has a base 8 on which transverse ribs 9 are formed.
  • a short wall strip 10 extends from the edge of the base 8 to horizontal edge flanges 11, which also rest on the edge of the cutout of the worktop 2.
  • the two sink modules namely the sink 3 and the drip part 4 each have a horizontally projecting connecting flange 12 (FIGS. 2 and 4), which run parallel and at a distance from one another at the same height.
  • a common connecting bar 13 lies on the connecting flanges 12 and is screwed to a counter bar 14 located under the connecting flanges 12 by means of screws 15.
  • the connecting bar 12 engages with corresponding downward projecting pins 16 in corresponding recesses 17 of the counter bar 14.
  • cylindrical screw bushings 18 are inserted, into which the screws 15 are screwed.
  • the connecting bar 13 has near its longitudinal edges downwardly projecting ribs 19 which engage in a form-fitting and sealing manner in the longitudinal grooves 20 on the upper side of the connecting flanges 12.
  • the two adjacent connecting flanges 12 are positively connected to one another, so that the two sink modules 3 and 4 form a rigid unit in the assembled state.
  • the connecting bar 13 covers the connection point between the two sink modules 3 and 4.
  • the connecting bar 13 lies at the same level with the edge flanges 7 and 11 and adjoins them, so that an optically closed impression is created.
  • the counter bar 14 has in its central section a drain 21, in which overflows 22 and 23 from the sink 3 and the drip part 4 open (Fig. 3).
  • the drain 21 has a drain shaft 24, on the two opposite sides of which the edge is recessed into a drain incision 25 and 26, respectively.
  • an overflow spout 28 is arranged between two sections of the connecting flange 12 of the sink 3 (FIG. 4).
  • the drainage shaft 24 and the two overflow nozzles 27 and 28 which open there are designed to be open on their upper side and are covered by the connecting bar 13 which is also continuous in this area.
  • a seal 29 is inserted so that a tight connection of the two sink modules 3, 4 to the drain 21 is ensured.
  • an adequate seal is ensured by the connection strip 13.
  • the drain shaft 24 opens into a connection piece 30 to which a drain hose or drain pipe is connected.
  • sink 3 and drip part 4 shown as examples of the sink modules that can be combined with one another as desired, other sink parts can also be provided and combined with one another in the manner described. For example, it is possible to combine two sinks in this way to form a built-in sink. It is also possible to arrange between the sink 3 and the drip-off part 4 as a further sink part a smaller functional basin, which is used, for example, to dispose of food residues. Three or more sink modules can also be installed in a corner.
