Definitions

  • the invention relates to a terminal block according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a terminal block of this type is previously known from DE-PS 28 04 478.
  • insulation displacement contacts are arranged in the strip body.
  • the disadvantage is that it has not yet been possible to connect shielded cables since there is no connection point for a shield connection.
  • Another disadvantage of the terminal block is that the insulation displacement contacts are not adequately shielded against external overvoltages.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a shield connection on the known terminal block, which can be retrofitted to the strip body and which is used to connect a shield cable and which sufficiently shields the insulation displacement contacts arranged in the terminal block against interference voltages .
  • the solution to this problem results from the characterizing features of claim 1 and the independent claim 2.
  • the shield connection elements are in this case in a simple manner as U-shaped sheet metal parts which can be produced in a simple manner.
  • the sheet metal parts serve on the one hand as shield connection elements and on the other hand have the advantage that they protect the insulation displacement contacts arranged in the terminal strip against interference voltages.
  • the shield connection element is formed from a cuboid sheet metal part and enables the shielding of cable wires connected to the incoming and outgoing strip side.
  • the first embodiment of Figures 1 to 4 comprises a terminal block 12 and several shield connection elements 1.
  • the terminal block 12 consists of a strip body 6 from an upper part 13 and a lower part 14, which are made of plastic and locked together.
  • Metallic contact elements 4 are arranged in the connection strip 12 in two parallel rows of clamping slots 27 between each two clamping webs 9, in the exemplary embodiment of the connection strip 12 as a separation strip two opposite contact elements 4 being connected to one another via a separation contact 26 with a separation point 15.
  • the contact elements 4 are formed from insulation displacement contact elements and are used to connect insulated cable wires 7.
  • Such a terminal strip 12 is described in detail in DE-PS 28 04 478, to which express reference is made.
  • the shield connection element 1 consists of a sheet metal part 2 which has two legs 3 bent at right angles from a base 2 in the same direction, as a result of which a sheet metal part 2 with a U-shaped cross section is formed. From each leg 3 are two holding ribs 8, 10 bent toward the inside 16 of the U-shaped sheet metal part 2. The holding ribs 8 and 10 are offset in height from one another so that a tilt-stable position of the shield connection element 1 is achieved after being placed on the terminal strip 12, as will be explained in more detail later.
  • a shield connection contact 19 is provided for clamping a shield 21 of a shield cable 22, which essentially consists of two sheet metal tabs 20 bent in the same direction. After inserting the screen 21 or screen braid, these metal tabs 20 are bent over the screen 21 until the screen 21 is electrically and mechanically connected to the screen connection element 1.
  • the shield connection element 1 can have a cover 30 which serves to protect the connected cable core 7.
  • a contact tongue 29 is formed on the upper edge 28 of the shield connection element.
  • the shield connection elements 1 are plugged onto the terminal block 12 from above, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
  • a total of five shield connection elements 1 can be plugged onto a 10-DA (double-core) connection strip 12 on the two outer longitudinal sides 11 or on the incoming or outgoing cable core side.
  • the distance between the two legs 3 of the U-shaped sheet metal part 2 is chosen so large that three clamping webs 9 and two contact elements 4 are included between the two legs 3 for connecting the a and b cable wires 7 of a telecommunication line.
  • the two legs 3 of the shield connection element 1 are each in a contact slot 5 of the contact elements 4 adjacent to the enclosed contact elements 4 is pressed in and thus establish an electrical contact connection between these contact elements 4 and the shield connection element 1.
  • the holding ribs 8 engage behind the clamping webs 9 on the inside 24, whereas the holding ribs 10 rest on the opposite outside 23 or on the front 11 of the clamping webs 9. Since the clamping ribs 8, 10 are offset in height from one another, a particularly good, tilt-stable position of the shield connection element 1 is assumed.
  • the shield cable 22 is brought from the outside and connected to the shield connection contact 19, for which purpose the two sheet metal tabs 20 are bent toward one another and thus clamp the shield 21 of the shield cable 22.
  • the two a, b cable wires 7 of the telecommunication line are connected in a known manner to the contact elements 4 enclosed between the two legs 3 by means of a tool, not shown.
  • both the two a and b cable wires 7 and the partially free-standing contact elements 4 are completely shielded by the shield connection element 1.
  • plugs inserted in the center of a plug opening 25 of the terminal block 12, which are not shown further, can also make contact.
  • the plug grips the shield 21 in the disconnection point 15 at the disconnect contacts 26, which are connected to the shield connection element 1 via the contact elements 4.
  • the shield connection elements 1 can be easily removed from the terminal block 12, for which purpose they only have to be pulled out of the contact slots 5 of the insulation displacement contact elements 4 in the opposite direction.
  • the terminal block 12 is identical to the terminal block shown in the first embodiment of Figures 1 to 4 formed.
  • a double shield connection element 1 is used to connect two shield cables 22.
  • the double shield connection element 1a consists of a cuboid sheet metal part 2a with two side walls 3a and two narrow sides 17a.
  • the side walls 3a each have two holding ribs 10 bent towards the inside 16.
  • a shield connection contact 19 is provided for clamping the shield 21 of a shield cable 22, which has two sheet metal tabs 20 bent in the same direction.
  • Two shield cables 22 can thus be connected to the double shield connection element 1 a, the shields 21 of which are electrically and mechanically connected to the double shield connection element by bending the sheet metal tabs 20.
  • the double shield connection element 1 a is plugged onto the terminal block 12 from above, as shown in FIGS. 5 to 7.
  • Five double shield connection elements 1 a can be plugged onto a 10-DA terminal block 10.
  • the double shield connection element 1 a surrounds two pairs of insulation displacement contacts 4, 4 a, the two pairs being arranged within two rows of insulation displacement contacts.
  • the distance between the two side walls 3a of the sheet metal part 2a is so large that three clamping webs 9 and two contact elements are included between the two side walls 3a.
  • the two side walls 3a of the shield connection element 1a are each pressed into four contact slots 5 of the contact elements 4,4a adjacent to the enclosed contact elements 4,4a and thus establish an electrical contact connection between them this contact elements 4,4a and the double shield connection element 1a ago.
  • the four holding ribs 10 encompass the four clamping webs 9 and fix the double shield connection element 1 a to the terminal strip 12.
  • the double shield connection element 1 a serves to connect two shield cables 22, which are connected to the shield connection contacts 19 by bending the sheet metal tabs 20.
  • the a, b cable wire 7 on the incoming side and the a ', b' cable wire 7a on the outgoing side are connected to the enclosed contact elements 4,4a by means of a tool, not shown.
  • the cable wires 7, 7 a of the incoming and outgoing connection side of the terminal block 12 are completely shielded by the double shield connection element 1 a.
