Description

The invention relates to a waste collector according to the preamble of claim 1 and claim 12.

The known waste collector from which the invention is based (GB-A 1 333 335 or US-A 3 788 720 with the same content) has a lid that opens under its own weight, whereas the active force of the waste container itself is used to make it close. The opening movement of the lid is quick and is achieved without any additional aids. It is impractical in the known waste collector, however, that the lid is mounted on a horizontal pivot axis which runs perpendicular to the side wall of the cabinet and is to be attached to the side wall with a special fitting. This is technically complex.

DE-A 3 028 233).In addition, a waste collector operating in the opposite direction is known, in which the lid is raised by the pivoting-out movement of the waste container in the manner of a wedge gear, so active forces are used to open the lid. This wedge gear technology is expedient since, when the waste container is in the pivoted position, no force directed against the pivoting direction is exerted on the waste container and the lid always closes securely, since, due to its own weight, it enters the closed position. However, this technique is constructive and therefore costly, since special wedges, cams or the like must be provided, which moreover must be arranged at a precisely defined point, namely close to the pivot axis of the cover, in order to ensure a sufficient opening height of the cover guarantee (DE-C 2 916 183 or DE-A 3 028 233).

The teaching of the present patent application is based on the task of simplifying the lid control as much as possible, starting from the known waste collector explained at the outset, with a waste container and lid pivotably articulated on a side wall of a cabinet and opening by its own weight.

The problem outlined above is solved by the teaching of the invention with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. According to the invention, a solution is specified in which the cover still opens under its own weight, but nevertheless ensures simple attachment to the side wall of the cabinet is. The angular position of the lid pivot axis relative to the side wall is of crucial importance, namely it is achieved in that the holding bracket, which is required anyway because of the vertical container pivot axis, can be used in the front angle between the side wall and the door for the storage of the pivot axis of the lid.

There are now a large number of possibilities for developing and developing the teaching of the invention, for which purpose reference may be made to claims 2 to 11 which are subordinate to claim 1.

Claim 12 gives a further solution, based on the same functional principle, to the problem outlined above, but with a horizontal cover pivot axis which extends essentially parallel to the side wall. The atypical design of a bearing opening on the holding bracket as an elongated hole gives the lid pivot axis an additional degree of freedom which allows it to pivot downwards to open the lid. The weight-dependent lowering effect for the rear part of the lid also occurs here. At the same time, the horizontal cover swivel axis also forms a hand swivel axis that can be used in an emergency and around which the cover can be swung open by hand if necessary.

Eine bevorzugte Gestaltung dieser nebengeordneten Lösung des zuvor aufgezeigten Problems betrifft Anspruch 13.A preferred design of this subordinate solution to the problem indicated above relates to claim 13.

The waste collector 1 shown in Fig. 1 is installed in a cabinet 2, which is closed by a door 3 pivotally hinged to the cabinet 2. The waste collector 1 has a waste container 4, which has a circular cylindrical shape in the illustrated embodiment. Strictly speaking, the waste container 4 is a circular cylindrical outer jacket, into which an inner bucket, which is not shown, can be inserted from above. Other embodiments are conceivable here and are known in the prior art.

In addition to the waste container 4, the waste collector 1 also has a lid 5 which closes the waste container 4.

The waste container 4 is pivoted about an essentially vertical container pivot axis 6 here on upper and lower holding brackets 7, 8 on a side wall 9 of the cabinet 2. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, the pivotable articulation is carried out on the holding brackets 7, 8 with the aid of laterally projecting upper and lower support brackets 10, 11. The waste container 4 can also be articulated directly on the holding brackets 7, 8, it can also be attached to an upper support bracket hung or placed on a lower support bracket in the form of a plate. The vertical container pivot axis 6 is not physically present here, but is formed by two axially stub axles aligned with one another. This is also known in the prior art.

The cover 5 is pivoted about an essentially horizontal pivot axis 12 of the cover on the side wall 9 of the cabinet 2, specifically on the holding bracket 7 on corresponding mounting brackets. A separate holding bracket can also be provided for articulating the cover.

When the waste container 4 is pivoted out, the cover 5 pivots into the open position and when it is pivoted in, the cover 5 pivots back into the closed position. In the closed position, the lid 5 lies with its edge 13 projecting downward on the upper opening edge 14 of the waste container 4 on and seals the waste container 4 so odor-proof.

The previously mentioned holding bracket 7 is in the preferred embodiment shown here in the front, formed by the side wall 9 and the door 3 of the cabinet 2. It extends only over a small part of the depth of the lid 5. The lid pivot axis 12 is supported at one end in the holding bracket 7. For this reason, the cover pivot axis 12 does not need to extend over the full depth of the cover 5, if the cover 5 is otherwise sufficiently rigid.

Fig. 1 shows in general a waste collector 1 of the type in question, but does not quite reveal the teaching of the invention in its essential details. For a first exemplary embodiment, however, this can be clearly seen in FIG. 2.

Fig. 2 shows that here the cover pivot axis 12 extends at an acute angle to the side wall 9 and is guided and mounted in a receptacle 15 in the cover surface, that the weight of the rear part of the cover 5 lying between the cover pivot axis 12 and the side wall 9 is greater than the weight of the front part of the lid 5 lying beyond the lid pivot axis 12, that the rear part of the lid 5 pivots downwards under the effect of its weight when the waste container 4 is pivoted out and against its weight when the waste container 4 is pivoted in from the opening edge 14 is pressed up and the front part of the cover 5 performs a corresponding opening and closing movement and preferably that, preferably on the holding bracket 7, a stop 16 is provided for pivoting down the rear part of the cover 5. The stop 16, which here forms the edge of the holding bracket 7, can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 7. This stop 16 prevents the cover 5 from assuming a more or less vertical position when the waste container 4 is pivoted out, which would be unsuitable for closing when it is swiveled in again.

Fig. 2 in conjunction with Figs. 6 and 7 makes it clear that the opening movement of the lid 5 in this waste collector 1 is a wobbling movement around the lid pivot axis 12 and that the lifting of the lid 5 in the rear part to close the lid 5 only is caused by the opening edge 14 of the waste container 4. The downwardly projecting edge 13 of the cover 5 slides on the opening edge 14 of the waste container 4, which runs underneath it when it is pivoted in. Of course, it is possible to provide the surfaces that come into contact with one another with a corresponding lubrication, that is to say to provide them with a corresponding coating or from correspondingly lubricious material to manufacture.

With the "short" holding bracket 7 one is fixed with regard to the bearing end of the cover pivot axis 12 to the angular range between the side wall 9 and door 3 of the cabinet 2. In order to actually implement the pivoting movement of the cover 5, which is to be realized according to the invention, starting from here, the angular position of the cover pivot axis 12 is of considerable importance. It has been shown that for technical reasons an angular position between 30 ° and 50 °, in particular an angular position of approximately 45 ° to the side wall 9, results in optimal behavior.

For aesthetic reasons, it is of course advisable to arrange the receptacle 15 for the cover pivot axis 12 on the underside of the cover 5. The lid pivot axis 12 can be plugged in, clamped, locked in place or otherwise firmly connected to the lid 5. A snap-out receptacle 15, which is not shown here, allows the lid 5 to be snapped out in an emergency, for example if the waste container 4 is too full when it is closed. There are also other ways to solve this question, which will be explained below.

It is known per se from the prior art that the cover 5 is designed approximately like a closed U in plan view. This lid shape is now recommended in a special way for the present design of a waste collector 1, since it requires both a left-handed stop and one To allow the right-hand stop of the lid 5, optimal conditions. It is recommended in this connection, but also generally, that the cover 5 is designed symmetrically to its center line running perpendicular to the side wall 9 and, in particular, has a receptacle 15 on each side of the center line. In the figures of the drawing, only the receptacle 15 corresponding to the left-hand stop is shown in dashed form, dashed because it is regularly located under the cover 5. However, it is obvious where and how the correspondingly symmetrical receptacle is to be arranged on the other side of the cover 5.

The shape of the lid as a U has the very special advantage that the rear part of the lid 5 always has a greater weight than the front part of the lid 5 without additional measures when the lid pivot axis 12 extends at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the side wall 9. This is because the rear part of the cover 5 always has the angular configuration, while on the opposite side of the cover pivot axis 12 the cover 5 is rounded and a corresponding amount of material "is missing".

Diese Gestaltung zeigt auch Fig. 2.In order to be able to design the desired angular position of the lid pivot axis 12 in a particularly unproblematic manner, it is recommended that the corners of the lid 5 are cut off obliquely, preferably at an angle that matches the course angle of the lid pivot axis 12. This design is also shown in FIG. 2.

Fig. 2 zeigt insoweit auch noch ein besonders bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung, als die Deckelschwenkachse 12 von der Haltekonsole 7 lösbar und in zwei einem Linksanschlag bzw. einem Rechtsanschlag des Deckels 5 entsprechenden Positionen an der Haltekonsole 7 anbringbar ist.2 also shows a particularly preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention in that the lid pivot axis 12 can be detached from the holding bracket 7 and can be attached to the holding bracket 7 in two positions corresponding to a left stop or a right stop of the lid 5.

It has previously been explained that it would be advantageous for the cover pivot axis 12 to be able to be disengaged in the receptacle 15 for overfilling the waste container 4. An alternative solution for this case, which is also a Manual opening of the waste container 4 at any time is characterized in that the lid pivot axis 12 with the lid 5 attached to it is again pivotable about a further horizontal hand pivot axis 17 relative to the holding bracket 7. In addition to the cover pivot axis 12 normally used in operation, a further hand pivot axis 17 is provided, which is only used in an emergency or for filling by hand, but which enables the cover 5 to be pivoted with the full surface.

The hand swivel axis could easily run parallel to the side wall. This would be possible, for example, in that the holding bracket 7 had not only one projecting plate 18, but two plates connected to one another via a lateral hinge, the upper one of which could be pivoted upwards relative to the lower one.

The illustrated preferred embodiment, however, shows a much more expedient solution, which is characterized in that the hand pivot axis 17 extends at an acute, preferably at a right angle to the cover pivot axis 12. In the exemplary embodiment shown and preferred here, it applies that the end of the cover pivot axis 12 is fixedly attached to the hand pivot axis 17 or to a bearing ring 19 comprising the hand pivot axis 17. The lid pivot axis 12 thus practically ends in the bearing ring 19, the opening of which extends essentially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the lid pivot axis 12. This bearing ring 19, correspondingly wide, is mounted on the hand pivot axis 17. This construction is very compact and integrates the hand swivel axis 17 into the overall arrangement in a very inconspicuous manner.

Here, a further feature is realized, namely the feature that the cover pivot axis 12 and the hand pivot axis 17 are made in one piece as a fork piece 20. This design as a fork piece 20 has the advantage that By simply pulling out the fork piece 20 and turning the fork piece 20, it can be converted from the left stop to the right stop.

Fig. 2 shows no fork piece, but another way to ensure easy conversion from the left stop to the right stop of the cover 5. This is because the cover pivot axis 12 is mounted on the end assigned to the holding bracket 7 in a bearing block 21 which is detachably attached to the holding bracket 7. By converting the bearing block 21 and assigning it to the mirror-symmetrically arranged further receptacle 15 of the cover 5, the conversion can be easily accomplished. In addition, the lid 5 can be easily cleaned together with the bearing block 21 when it is detached from the holding bracket 7.

In the illustrated embodiment, the hand pivot axis 17 is mounted in the bearing block 21.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2 and in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the bearing block 21 can be inserted overall into a sliding guide 22 on the holding console 7. The connection of the bearing block 21 to the holding bracket 7 thus takes place by this insertion into the sliding guide 22.

While, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, the sliding guide 22 is not quite as expedient as a T-guide, the sliding guide 22 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 is closed at the top. It has a sliding groove 23 projecting downwards, to which a matching, upwardly projecting sliding strip 24 corresponds on the bearing block 21. As a result, the sliding guide 22 is more protected against contamination here than in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the rest of the case applies that the bearing block 21 is prepared for insertion into the sliding guide 22 on two sides that run at right angles to one another. It is special Appropriately, that the sliding bar 24 is simultaneously molded as a handle bar. The sliding bar 24 exposed at the front of the cover 5 can be used for pulling out and pushing in the bearing block 21, while the identical sliding bar 24 on the long side of the bearing block 21 serves as a guide in the sliding groove 23.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, without this being apparent here, two T-grooves crossing at right angles can be provided in the underside of the bearing block 21, so that the desired implementation is also readily possible here.

Gut zu erkennen ist auch der Lagerblock 21 mit der darin gelagerten Handschwenkachse 17.6 and 7 show the embodiment according to FIG. 4 in a view from the side wall 9. 6 clearly shows how the lid 5 is pushed up from the opening edge 14 of the waste container 4. FIG. 7 shows the tilted lid 5 with the waste container 4 swung out. The bearing block 21 with the hand swivel axis 17 mounted therein can also be clearly seen.

Das führt zu der gewünschten Taumelbewegung, mit der der Deckel 5 erfindungsgemäß öffnet.8 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a waste collector 1 according to the invention, in which, however, the cover pivot axis 12 and the hand pivot axis 17 coincide with one another and the cover pivot axis 12 runs essentially parallel to the side wall 9. The holding bracket 7 has here at the front and rear ends a bearing bracket 25 with a bearing bore 26 arranged therein for the cover pivot axis 12. The bearing bore 26 in the rear bearing bracket 25 is designed as an approximately vertically extending elongated hole. The cover pivot axis 12 is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 8. It is in the position when the lid 5 is closed, that is to say the refuse container 4 is pivoted in. If the refuse container 4 swings out, the cover 5 loses its support in the rear part through the opening edge 14 of the refuse container 4 rear bearing bore 26 down, but at the same time the front end of the cover pivot axis 12 in the bearing bore 26 in the front bearing plate 25 kept the same amount. This leads to the desired wobble movement with which the lid 5 opens according to the invention.

In the illustrated embodiment, it is also true that the bearing bore 26 in the front bearing bracket 25 is also designed as an elongated hole and that the free space in the elongated hole remaining under the cover pivot axis 12 is closed by a bearing plug 27. Here there is the extremely simple retrofitting option that the bearing plug 27 is simply moved from the front into the rear elongated hole if you want to convert from left-handed to right-handed or vice versa.

For a supplementary explanation, it should also be pointed out that the elongated holes do not have to run exactly vertically, but that an inclined course of the elongated holes, possibly also an angular arrangement of two elongated holes in a mounting bracket, corresponds to this teaching of the invention.

Finally, a construction with a front elongated hole and a rear bearing bore is equivalent to the construction with a rear elongated hole and a front bearing bore, but when using a bearing plug, this would have to be arranged in the elongated hole in the rear bearing bracket in the free space above the lid pivot axis.
