Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ski boot consisting of a shell surrounding the foot and the heel and a rod articulated on the shell and cooperating with at least one adjustable stop mounted on the shell.
  • Such a shoe is known from document DE-A-3530243.
  • This shoe of the rear entry type, comprises a rounded stop which can be moved substantially parallel to the lower edge of the front part of the upper, which has an elasticity slot also parallel to its lower edge, this slot defining a flexion bridge. which gradually comes to rest on the rounded stop when bending the leg forward, so that the resistance to bending gradually increases.
  • the present invention aims to achieve an adjustment of the flexion of the upper by simpler means, using the own elasticity of the material of the shoe, but without it being necessary to provide an elastic bridge in the upper.
  • the ski boot according to the invention is characterized in that the upper has, on at least one side, a notch of at least approximately trapezoidal shape between its point of articulation on the shell and the instep, and that the adjustable rigid stop is also at least approximately trapezoidal in shape and that it is arranged in the notch so that the small base of the trapezoid faces the bottom of the notch and that when the leg is bent forward, the bottom of the notch first abuts against the stop, then the upper edge of the notch in turn abuts against the stop after bending the rod accompanied by an elastic deformation of the upper, the flexion of the shoe being determined by the distance between the upper side of the notch and the corresponding side of the stop.
  • a stop is provided on each side of the shoe.
  • This construction is particularly suitable for a shoe whose upper is in one piece, but it is also applicable to a shoe with rear entry whose upper is in two pieces.
  • Figure 1 is a schematic side view of a shoe equipped with a stopper according to a first embodiment.
  • Figure 2 is a detail view of the stop region.
  • FIG. 3 is a sectional view along III-III of FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4 schematically represents a shoe fitted with a stop according to a second embodiment.
  • Figure 5 is a detail view of this stop.
  • FIG. 6 is a sectional view along VI-VI of FIG. 5.
  • Figure 7 shows a stop according to a third embodiment.
  • FIG. 8 is a detailed view of the stop according to FIG. 7.
  • FIG. 9 is a sectional view along IX-IX of FIG. 8.
  • FIG. 10 represents a shoe fitted with a stop according to a fourth embodiment.
  • Figure 11 is a detail view of this stop.
  • Figure 12 is a sectional view along XII-XII of Figure 11.
  • Figure 13 shows another possible form of the stop.
  • the shoe shown schematically in Figure 1 consists of a hull bottom 1 with variable volume comprising the sole and surrounding the foot and the heel, and a rod 2 in one piece articulated by an axis 3 on the bottom of the hull 1.
  • the upper part of the rod is in the form of a clamp that can be tightened around the leg by means of two loops 4 and 5.
  • the bottom of the shell is also equipped with two loops 6 and 7 for tightening the foot.
  • the shoe shown is the shoe of the right foot.
  • the rod 2 has a notch 8 of trapezoidal shape.
  • a stop 9 constituted by a metal plate of trapezoidal shape
  • the small base is parallel to the small base 8a of the notch and the sides of which are respectively parallel to the sides 8b and 8c of the notch.
  • the plate 9 In the closed position of the shoe, as shown in the drawings, the plate 9 is in contact with the small base 8a of the notch 8.
  • the plate 9 has an oblong opening 10 extending parallel to the base of the trapezoid in a counterbore 11.
  • This lumen 10 is crossed by a screw 12 screwed into a nut 13 inserted in the inner wall of the shell 1 and the head of which rests on the counterbore 11 for fixing the wafer in the chosen position.
  • the back of the plate is further provided with a toothing cooperating with a toothing 14 formed on the shell 1.
  • the large base of the plate 9 further extends along a support facet 15 perpendicular to the surface. of the shell 1 and formed by a local excess thickness of the shell.
  • the shoe will generally be provided with a movable stop 9 on each side.
  • the adjustable stop 9 can be used on a shoe provided with means for adjusting the lateral inclination of the upper as described in US Pat. No. 4,334,368. It should be remembered that these means for adjusting the lateral inclination are mounted at the joint 3. A modification of the lateral inclination of the rod has the effect of modifying the position of the notch 8. A correction of the position of the stop 9 can be easily done if one wishes to keep the same flexibility of the shoe.
  • the adjustment of the lateral inclination of the upper of the shoe can be combined with the stop.
  • An exemplary embodiment is shown in Figures 4 to 6.
  • the shoe is the same as in the first embodiment.
  • the plate 9 has an extension 9a, thinner than the trapezoidal part of the plate 9 and extending between the rod 2 and the shell 1, around the axis 3 of the articulation of the rod.
  • a metal part 16 inserted in the material of the rod 2.
  • This part 16 has an oblong slot 17 crossed by the axis 3 whose diameter is equal to the width of the slot 17 which s 'extends parallel to the direction of the light 10.
  • the displacement of the plate 9 causes the displacement of the insert 16, that is to say the displacement of the rod 2.
  • the displacement of the plate 9 therefore has the effect to modify the lateral inclination of the rod 2.
  • the distance between the side 8c of the notch 8 and the plate 9 remains constant, so that the plate 9 thus modified does not make it possible to modify the flexibility of the upper, at least on this side of the shoe, because on the other side of the shoe it is possible to mount a stopper 9 as shown in Figures 1 to 3 so as to allow adjustment of the flexibility of the shoe.
  • Figures 7, 8 and 9 show an alternative embodiment of the first embodiment.
  • the plate 9, instead of pressing laterally against a bearing surface 15, is provided with two feet in the form of studs 18 and 19 engaged respectively in a groove 20 and 21 formed in the thickness of the shell 1. Under the lateral thrust of the rod 2 on the wafer 9, the studs 18 and 19 abut against one of the side walls of the grooves 20 and 21. For the rest this variant is identical to the first embodiment.
  • the articulation 3 can also be equipped with means for adjusting the lateral inclination of the rod.
  • FIG. 10 to 12 An alternative embodiment of the second embodiment is shown in Figures 10 to 12.
  • This alternative embodiment differs from the second embodiment shown in Figures 4 to 6 in that the flexibility adjustment is independent of the adjustment of the lateral inclination of the upper of the shoe.
  • the toothed plate 9 is not mounted directly against the shell 1, but on a second toothed plate 22 toothed on its two faces. It is this plate 22 which extends between the shell 1 and the upper of the shoe 2, around the hinge pin 3, more precisely around the part 16 inserted in a cutout of the upper 2.
  • the screw 12 and its nut 13 simultaneously fix the plate 9 and the plate 22, while the plate 9 is fixed to the plate 22 by means of a second screw 23 screwed directly into the metal plate 22.
  • the plates 9 and 22 can be made of metal or hard plastic.
  • the plate 9 and the notch 8 can have a very wide variety of shapes capable of satisfying the object of the invention. Another possible shape is shown in Figure 13.
  • the notch 8 ′ has a short rectilinear bottom 8′a and two sides 8′b and 8′c in an arc.
  • the plate 9 ′ has a rounded edge 24 whose curvature of the upper part is substantially greater than the curvature of the part 8′c of the notch. During bending, the part 8′c comes to bear progressively against the edge 24 of the plate 9 ′.
