Definitions

  • the invention is based on a rod antenna according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a rod antenna is known (EP-A-0 048 788) which is intended in particular for VHF radio reception. With this antenna, two windings are wound in opposite directions on an antenna rod.
  • a rod antenna is also known (GB-A-2,030,778), which is suitable for several frequency ranges, such as the AM and FM broadcasting range and the Citizen-Band radio.
  • the antenna rod of this antenna carries three different, connected impedance elements.
  • Rod antennas for the reception of VHF and UHF television transmitters have hitherto only been known as telescopic antennas, the telescope length being changed more or less depending on the reception area.
  • the invention has for its object to develop a rod antenna according to the preamble of claim 1 such that the rod antenna is suitable for both VHF and UHF television reception without a telescope that can be changed in length.
  • FIG. 1 An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing using a figure and is explained in more detail below.
  • the figure shows a rod antenna in section.
  • 10 denotes a rod antenna made of a conically tapered insulating rod 11 with two windings 12 and 13 connected to one another, of which the first winding 12 ends before the free end 14 of the insulating rod 11. While the windings of the first winding 12 are wound with a relatively large pitch, the windings are the second. Winding 13, for example, wound without a slope. The second winding 13 is divided into two sections 14 and 18. Between the penultimate turn 15 and the last turn 16 of the first section 14, a first turn 17 of the second section 18 is contained, the other end 19 of which is connected to a band-shaped conductor 20.
  • the band-shaped conductor is surrounded by a metallic sleeve 23, which at the same time connects a first threaded bolt 24 to one. Encloses end.
  • the other end of the threaded bolt carries a threaded pin 25 which is screwed into a helical spring 26.
  • a threaded pin 27 of a second threaded bolt 28 is screwed into the other end of the helical spring 26 and carries a further threaded pin 29 at its free end for fastening the rod antenna.
  • the threaded bolt 28 forms the base of the rod antenna.
  • An electrically conductive band 30 bridges the helical spring and is clamped with its ends between the threaded pins 25 and 27 and the associated ends of the helical spring 26.
  • the windings 12 and 13 consist of an insulated wire, preferably of enamelled copper wire. With the exception of the further set screw 29, the entire rod antenna is surrounded by an elastic plastic sleeve 31.
  • the overlapping turns 15, 16, 17 of the sections 14 and 18 of the second winding 13 form a capacitor which connects the windings 12 and 13 with the remaining part of the rod antenna, that is to say the sleeve 23, the first threaded bolt 24, the helical spring 26 and the second threaded bolt 28, capacitively couples.
  • the length l1 between the base of the rod antenna 10 and the coupling means 15, 16, 17 and the second winding 13 for example ⁇ U / 4, where ⁇ U is the average operating wavelength of the UHF range, and the length l2 between the base and the free end of the first winding 12, for example ⁇ V / 4, where ⁇ V is the average operating wavelength of the VHF range, then the length l 1 of the rod antenna 10 acts as a UHF antenna and the length l 2 as a VHF antenna.
  • the rod antenna can be screwed with its grub screw 29 into a swivel bracket which is attached, for example, to the roof of a vehicle.
  • the antenna can be aligned either at 90 ° or at 0 ° to the horizontal and thus receive vertically or horizontally polarized waves.
